Dude I straight up teared up during this - what. a. piece! Something I want to point out that was a tad glossed over: the grandmother sitting on the Peacock Chair.. I’m not sure if this was intentional symbolism (seemed like it was) but - it’s the same chair that Huey Newton sat on during one of his most famous portraits at the height of the Black Panther movement.. showing African historical roots, pride/confidence, and resilience. His grandmother, with her background and Hawai’i’s historical colonialism and resilience, sitting on that chair could’ve been an extremely powerful photo in unto itself.. This was absolutely incredible! Bravo
Kev, you should be doing a video breakdown with creator for this or bring him to the podcast gotta learn things from him. And Kudos👏🏽 to Julian willams for such an amazing short film.
