I believe anyone can build or fix anything. Everything I've learned came from my father or UA-cam. I just want to give back to the community that taught me so much. I build almost anything. In the next few months I'll be posting build videos on BBQ Islands, Fiber Optic fire table, unique backyard storage, an foldable axe throwing cage, and a infinity light box. Stay tuned.
Preserve your history | Recycled $3 garage sale find into matchbook display case
It's inevitable, the older you become the more drawn you are to preserving your personal or family history. In this video I take a $3 wine rack I found at a garage sale and convert it into a wall hanging display case. I've had a bucket of very old matchbooks my father collected many years ago. To finish it off I placed matching QR codes behind each matchbook incase you want to scan it and see the history behind that establishment. You can use qr.io website to paste any URL (really long URLs won't work) and get a free QR code to use. #matchbooks #vintage #upcycle #displaycase #qrcode #preserve

Convert a broken LCD TV into a great shop or studio light for about $40 bucks!

I have a 50 inch Hisense LCD LED tv that was shot with a nerf bullet and it broke the display. I needed a shop light so instead of tossing it I put in some work and now have great lighting in my shop. Most TV LEDs will operate at 24 volts but review your TV specs first before trying this upcycle project. #shoplights #studiolights #brokenTV #LEDUpcycle #BrokenTv #ShopLight Power Supply - www.ama...

Upcycle Nuts, Bolts, and Screws with Resin to make a Picture Frame
Переглядів 672 місяці тому
I've been been a maker / DIYer for 30 years. I have a 30 pound tub of extra nuts, bolts, and screws from countless IKEA builds and extra parts from kits. I'll never use them in my life time and they are weighing down my shelves. I had some extra resin and decided to use them to make a one of a kind picture frame. #diy #resin #epoxy #pictureframes #upcycle
Hard lessons learned in wood power carving. I took all artistic direction from my 12 year old son.
Переглядів 1712 місяці тому
I've always admired the work that @BMSculptures does and wanted to give it a try. I was given 3 old Eucalyptus tree stumps a few years ago. They weigh about 40 pounds each. My son wanted to carve a tree out of them. I used a chainsaw, angle grinder with a wood carving blade, and a Dremel. I only did the dangerous work and my son did the rest. I injured myself and learned some valuable lessons i...
Custom Epoxy Picture Frame with battery powered LEDs.

In this full video I show how I poured custom shaped picture frame borders made from forms. Then I utilize some cool new style of LED light stripes. Inside the epoxy resin I place some 3D printed chili peppers. The poster I framed is a Scoville Heat Unit poster of all the peppers of the world. The whole contraption is powered by a circuit board and a rechargeable battery. The end result is a li...

Personally, and this is just a recommendation, I would place them in a glass frame or anything that would protect them from fire or water damage
@@XDRONIN may do that in the future. Not high dollar value. But sentimental value for sure.

Ya, Told my friend he'd have to pry them off if it happens. Not to big of a job though.
a video about an lcd protection with plexyglass please....
I did that with a 55 inch, but instead of using an external psu, i modified the original one , connecting the 5v vsb to the power suply on and the led brightness to the 3.3 rail, so when you plug the tv all comes to life without any other component
Were those markings visible on the logic board or did you have to look at the schematics ?
@@IfAlexCan I had to look at the schematics and then check if they behavior was the expected connecting the cut wires that were going to the logic board. Then when i confirmed all was correct i made the final cable and take out all that wasnt necesary
not a fan of the color tempiture tho
It is a little too blue yes.
Hell yeah
Good work. It's nice to see a project that reduces e-waste. Those with a better knowledge of electronics will be able to utilize the original backlight power supply and lower the overall cost. As I remember, it's a matter of supplying a constant signal voltage or common ground to one of the wires that connects to the power supply circuit board. Often there are marks on the circuit board that indicate what each wire is for. One of them will be marked "on/off" or "PWR" or something to that effect. Checking that wire with a volt meter will let you know what is needed to keep the power supply and backlight active. For example, that wire may have 5 volts on it (logic high) when the backlight is on and zero volts (logic low) when the backlight is off. The signal processing board is what controls it. If there is no input signal or the on/off switch is pressed, that wire switches logic states. It's possible to rewire the original on/off switch to control the power supply and in turn the backlight. Controlling the power supply voltage and thus the backlight brightness is also possible but requires a fairly in depth understanding of switch mode power supplies.
Good points all around. I should have looked on the logic board the lights were connected to to see if it had a dedicated PWR or on off. Initially it just. It looked like it had 2 20 pin ribbons attached.
Did that with a 60-inch TV, it's the best working light I have !!!
Right!? Look at this one for $600. I bet our is just as good dracobroadcast.com/product/dracast-x-series-led2000-bi-color-led-video-light-panel-with-v-mount-battery-plate/

I'm glad you didn't electrocute yourself.
I'm terrified of electricity. But projects like this help with knowledge and safety
What is this "SODDER" you speak of? The word is SOLDER, Soul-Der, all American mispronounce this simple word, while I typed this you did it 8 more times.
Funny you said this. I never had to type the word out before and had to look up the spelling, only to realize I'd been saying it incorrectly the whole time.
Man, you have Just done so many mistake with your electronics, Wall lead have to be L(live) and N(Neutral) + Ground. Houses use alternating current, than the Power supply convert It to Direct current wich almost every electronics use ( other than some motor etc... ), V+ is positive and V- Is negative of the output. If you don't understand what are you doing don't play with 110-220v.
You learn way more from your mistakes then successes. So I guess I learned a good amount this time. Thanks for the advice.
@@IfAlexCan that's true but one mistake with that voltage and it can be your last. Keep going but do some research and maybe you can go to a fast electronics class.
I’ve always used under counter toaster ovens, so this is a great idea except for one thing. They produce a lot of external heat, so you need a heat shield with some air space above for the heat rising above the oven to circulate out. Easy enough to rig something like that up, I’m sure. 🔧👍
Your the second person to tell me this exact suggestion. Your are correct too, anytime I use it the heat fogs up my glass cabinet door. I make this mod soon. Thanks!
Awesome video, i have a client who would like 4 of something similar, do you have a plan for sale? Im mostly interested in how to do the configuration of unistrut. Ill pay you for just a hand draft. Lol best of luck with the channel

I need to know the gauge of the metal studs and need to know how to secure the metal structure to the concrete slab?
@abidrahim3462, I used 25 gauge studs, and used construction adhesive to attach. The top weighs so much it doesn't want to move.
Nuts….
You get the award for best comment I've ever had on any video !
Hey MacGyver might need one of them screws eventually

What did it cost you for the materials? Amaz sells the kits starting at 80. So 30 for the wheels and what 15 for the metal?

That link is for half inch. But I'd get 1 inch thick flat bar steal instead
Looks great, I have a question. Is the grill NG or LP. I hope it’s NG based on your vent locations. If it’s LP, that is heavier and needs the ventilation down at the bottom.
It is NG, thanks for the.call out.
I am also considering starting a channel, hope to follow along on your journey. Thanks for taking the leap!
Richard, good luck and go for it !

Are you not concerned about a fire hazard?
Hi Dawn, good question. Not sure if you watched the short or full length. But in the long form I address this concern.
@@IfAlexCan where is the long version?
@@jakobe75 ua-cam.com/video/BUlbFxQB414/v-deo.html
There is no mention in this video about this being a fire hazzard to the cabinet above @@IfAlexCan
Oh, I see now. I thought you were talking about electrical hazard. Your talking about heat hazard from the toaster. It never gets hot enough for heat to transfer to the cabinet in my case. I have a 3/4 inch piece of plywood under there too.
Awesome. Nice work
Thanks Chris
Another great video by alex can❤

Thanks
Looks great. In hind sight you Gould be just used a grinder and done some plunge cut slits instead of leaving out the space for the vent. I just bought a house and think I’m gonna do this for my kitchen counters. Hopefully it doesn’t become a disaster lol
Hey Jake, thanks for the suggestion. So I'm clear, your saying to skin the whole box with the concrete faux stone and use a plunge router with a masonry bit to cut the square vent hole out ? The tile are thick and uneven might be a struggle. But doing fiber optics on your kitchen counter would be awesome! good luck. Hit me up if you need more advice, glad to help
@@IfAlexCan yeah that’s what I would do. Or just plunge it with a diamond blade on an angle grinder. I’ve done it before in bathrooms to make air vents instead of putting in the white metal ones. But yeah I’m pretty excited to try it. I think I might try to make a dining room table first for a trial run. The only issue I really see with the kitchen counters will be I guess I’ll have to string up the fiber optics and pour the concrete and then come back after it dries and cut them and resurface the concrete. I don’t really see any other way to do it since I’ll be pouring them in place on the counters lol. Unless you have another suggestion
If your going to try pour in place with fiber optics you'll need to somehow suspend each optic strand facing upright in wet concrete (this is the hard part). Then trim and finish after it's dry.
I put food bowls in a plant tray with water. Ants in my area don't swim.
Yep, agreed a great alternative. Simpler, cheaper, and fool proof. And I love your sense of humor! But filling a plant tray with water doesn't make a fun UA-cam video🤣
