almost everybody I knew in 1969 had to get a better turntable when Zep II came out. The bass thump was so heavy during the guitar breaks on WHole Lotta Love that the tonearm would just bounce and skate across the record!

RL and Piros are 1A and 1B imo, Piros cut all day over the Classic.

I wasn't impressed by my RL. It sounded louder, but that's it

You should check out the Spanish A8/B8 version from the '80s, cut by Marta Alvear. I prefer it to the RL, and that's not just my opinion. That copy is the biggest dark horse when it comes to this album. Not easy to find, but worth searching for.

My RL cut Preswell is the jewel in my collection. Love it.

I like my 1976 Japan cut too. I have a Monarch RL/RL, Presswell RL/RL, and the very elusive German RL/RL (yes it exists). Any of the RLs are great. But don’t discount the Japan cut. I actually also like the page reissue.

I still haven't been able to get an RL version just yet. Btw, I really enjoyed that Boston LP I bought from you recently Josh. You were correct and it did sound really clean. Thanks! Brian in Fort Worth 🎶

Great video Josh! Was looking forward to this video since I love LZ II. I myself own an RL Specialty Pressing that sounds killer. It’s cool to see that the 1976 Japanese pressing sounds really good since I do see it a lot and it’s about a pretty good price so I might end up getting one if I see one in the wild. Of course the RL won! 😅 It just doesn't get any better than that really. I'm really surprised you didn't include the late George Piros cut in there too... It's really, really good too, maybe 90% of a RL.

Thanks for sharing Josh. I was lucky enough to know Larry and will always remember the time we spent listening to his music and marveling over his collection. So many stories he told over the years are coming to life as we sort through his memories; just yesterday I found ticket stubs from Rolling Stones concerts in the late 60s. We have fond memories every time we play some of his vinyl. He was happy to have found you to help him see his collection passed on to others as passionate about the music as he was.

Not impressed with this UHQR. Sides 2 and 3 are not good at all. Rolled off. The mobile sounds more detailed. Way more focused and the bass has more weight. But i do like UHQR sides 1 and 4. That can sound very good

Is the original 97 the "promo"? Because on discogs, it is the only UK moose; the other being the "worldwide" version. Which of the 2 are you talking about? What is the UK 2013 version worth compared to the Oknotok?

I always thought pressing plants were modeled after Gus’s lab in Breaking Bad and the employees were like Walter White aka Heisenberg, meticulous. 😂 I love my Japanese resealable outer sleeves. Pricey but well worth it in the long run. Great video, Josh! Love the options and tips you shared with us!

Hi 'Hi-Fidelity Records', How's it going with your KLaudio LP200T ? Now I assume you have been using for some time have you needed to clean inside the machine in particular the internal tank and if so, how have you managed to clean it with it being a sealed unit (unlike the older LP200 model which had a large cap you could unscrew to get inside the tank and with a stick and cloth able to reach all of the edges and corners !) ?

I think the AP Purple will trump the Core for sound quality, as good as that is, as I think there is a lot more going on and a bit more subtleties. Plus I’ve been looking forward more to that as it is the biggest difference to existing pressings.

The new tiny music pressing was mastered by the great Bernie Grundman and lacquer cut by Chris Bellman. It sounds amazing, you should give it a chance

I wonder if Tiny Music and No. 4 might get a nice release too if the first 2 sell well. Who knows. Also I would think that og Tiny Music was probably mastered (and maybe mixed) digitally even though recorded analog. Not sure of course. Great video and new subscriber here
