I always thought pressing plants were modeled after Gus’s lab in Breaking Bad and the employees were like Walter White aka Heisenberg, meticulous. 😂 I love my Japanese resealable outer sleeves. Pricey but well worth it in the long run. Great video, Josh! Love the options and tips you shared with us!
Most of my collection is in the near mint catagory and well cared for but prior to playing a disc I want to remove surface dust and found that a Zerostat and an original Discwasher (not one cruddy "RCA" brushes) do the trick. Not going to spend time with wet cleaning unless the record is extremely dirty and valuable to me. Also, I do not apply "preservatives" like Last or Gruve Lube. I just figure the least amount of interaction my vinyl has with anything besides earth's atmosphere, the better. Also, just as important, a clean stylus - I use the Onzow for that. This simple routine works for me and cost has been negligible over many, many years!
Please mark your label on your record with a dot with a indelible pen and write inside the cover what it means. Some tests have been done with ultrasonic cleaners and they seem to cause some damage to the record after about five cleans of the record, it causes it to become dull sounding. I would say a maximum records lifetime should be three washes and no more!! people in the future need to know this so that's why mark the record indicate what it means on the inside cover, I wouldn't put it on the label first, because somebody might pull that off just write it inside cover edge it's not visible and don't write it on the sleeve because they get disposed of.
I like this! To totally agreed that one cleaning is sufficient as long as you keep the needle on your cart clean and use an anti-static brush. Thanks for watching!
Is your vacuum system handling oils (fingerprints) well? I have a Humminguru but exploring home made solutions just for the oils (ultrasonic does not thoroughly remove them).
Yes, the VPI handles grease, fingerprints etc. I typically use the VPI first for records that need rid of oils and then finish in the Klaudio ultrasonic as sort of a rinse if you will. Thanks for watching!
I like your channel and information on record care. Thank you

All good choices! Thanks for watching
I use a goat hair brush -it’s brilliant at discharging.
Never tried one of those? Good tip, I’m intrigued!

Came in a ultrasonic kit and it does more than my anti static gun. Somehow the goat knows?

They’re not hermatically sealed?
No, they’re not. Thanks for watching!
