Do you think mirror extenders would give you sufficient swivel to get the mirrors to stay in the right place? I had some installed simply because I could not see past my own shoulders. Alternatively, what about bar-end mirrors?
Congratulations on the new bike Nick. Looks great 👏
Thank you Mike I appreciate it. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Great Job! Did you moved the right side assembly with rear break pedal?
I don’t recall.
Sound like a good day 👍
Thanks it was a good day, needs to get warm again to have those days again lol.
100%. Getting a nice meal during/after a long ride just hits different
You know it, man. A good meal makes the ride all the better.
Glad you're enjoying the new bike! That's a wonderful thing, isn't it?
It sure is!
glad the new bike is working out.
Thanks man, Its a joy to ride, looking forward to next riding season for some more trips.
I'm glad you are enjoying the new bike. That blue is unique to all the motovlogs I watch. Good stuff!!!
Thanks man, yeah, it's a blast. I'm enjoying it.
👍👍 that’s a nice bike. Catch you later, brother.
Thank you! 🙂🏍️👍
I'm 5'8", got my Rogue, and lookin to have the road warrior. So u say 11 is better than 13. Thanx
Thanks, glad the video comparison helped you out. 🙂🏍👍
🤔Sure in coming riding season with bigger bike you&wife will have many riding adventures .👍🙏
Thanks! We're definitely looking forward to it. 🏍️👍
Nothing like enjoying a new bike on long ride to really get a feel for it, hey thanks for sharing your joy with us 🤙🏽
Thanks man, yeah, wish I could get more day rides like that but I'll have to save those for next riding season. 🙂🏍👍
It's really good to hear how much you're enjoying the new bike. I hope you and Ashley have many amazing adventures on it. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you Eric, I appreciate it. Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving too. 🙂👍
I’m south east😊 Like to find an InDian. dealership. Never looked for one
Cool I think there's a few down your way. I stopped at one off 168 near Hampton Roads a few years ago on the way to OBX.
@ yeah man I go that way often. I gotta get it in a video just to show you see if I can do it.
Oh wow nice bike. ❤😊
Thank you sir 🙂👍
Hey Nick. Great video. What dealership did you go to ?
Thanks Larry, I rode up to Motorcycles of Dulles, up near Dulles, VA.
9:30 you looked right at my holler :)
Very cool, it’s a really nice area over there! 🙂🏍️👍
way to much tech on everything at this point. I just want normal keys again. I can't even change the radio in my car without a software update..
Yeah tech in everything nowadays hard to get away from it. Seems like everything has at least a little bit of tech in it
The pin on the Pan America only gives you seconds to enter it prior to it going away. Not a fun option. I like how the Indian seems to give you a little time. Good stuff.
Thanks Jerry, yeah I seems pretty straight forward 🙂👍
😎👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
🙂🏍️👍
You didn’t tell us your new Pin#. 😃👍👍
Oops I did, didn’t I 😉😁🏍️👍
Set the pin immediatly. My 23 cheiftain DH key stopped working twice. Both times I got a new key under warrentee but without that Code I would have been majorly stranded twice. Dealer wrote my master code in my handbook and I switched it before I left the dealership. If you think you are the kinda person that never forgets their key so you don't need to know it. know that keys can fail.
Great advice, and I did set it afterwards . I usually don’t forget my key but having this as a bsckup is nice to have.
good deal like how indain put on the screen whole lot easier then Harley left right up down BS LOL
Yeah it’s not to bad to find.
Yep, the PIN is needed. Glad I have a spare key, but I think I know my Harley's PIN too. I like having keyless ignition - the key just stays in my pocket all day. Follow-up question: Does the Indian have an on-screen "low battery" alert? My Harley warns me when the key fob battery gets low, so I know to change it ASAP to prevent needing the PIN.
Dude same for me, love the keyless ignition. I’m not sure about the low battery alert that’s something I’ll have to look into. An some good advice too take as well 🙂👍
@@TechNickRides Yep, check and see if your bike has it - I must buy cheap batteries, because about once a year I get the message. I go right back in the house and swap the battery and I'm good to go again.
@RoadReality hey i remember my pin code but forget on how to enter it . Wait what give you a warning? Is that why my Alarm light stay on when I start the back up ?
@@TheBlueBikeDoyle Pin code is entered by using the left and right turn signals on Harleys. Yes, it gives you a warning - it'll say FOB BATT LOW on the little LCD screen that usually shows your odometer. It may also show up on your infotainment screen. It CAN be why the alarm light stays on, yes.
@@RoadReality really I not seen that before
Right information nick. I’ve hat to use my pin 2 times I think.
Thank you Moto. That pin is nice have in a pinch 🙂🏍️👍
@@TechNickRides indeed, Thanks and good to catch up with you Nick
Some really good information for folks on this one, Nick. Great job!
Thank you Eric , I hope it was helpful and something to consider when getting an Indian touring bike new or used. 🙂👍
Good video. Love the color of your Indian. And your garage is set up very nicely. I bought my first Indian from the Dulles dealership. My understanding on my Indians is that there is a Master Pin and a User Pin. The dealer is supposed to write the master pin in the owner's manual. When I bought one of mine used I did not know the user pin or master pin. The other I bought used came with the Owners Manual and had the Master Pin in it. I received some "fake news" that supposedly the Master Pin would be either written under the seat or around the fuse box or something. I found it nowhere on the bike. Entering the PIN on my Super Chief Limited with the Ride Command is simple, just like yours. Entering the PIN on my Springfield (no Ride Command) is a royal pain and I would not rely on it. I find it very odd to do it and it takes me repeated attempts to get it to go through.
Thank you for the compliments 🙂👍 I try to stage my garage to look a little organized and presentable on camera at least lol. Trust me it can get messy sometimes 😂 Hoping to do some more maintenance on the bikes later this winter. I’ve also read about the master PIN too and originally asked them about it they said they could at least read the existing user PIN for me. Unfortunately the bike didn’t come with a manual (which I was really surprised). The service folks up at Dulles were nice to work with too 🙂🏍️👍
@@TechNickRides Good stuff. Odd about the master pin. I had to take mine to the dealer and they told me, if I recall correctly, they could only connect it to their device and tell me the Master Pin, and from there I would be able to reset the user pin. Surprised they could not tell you the Master Pin but maybe I misunderstood something. I know that I left the dealership with the Master Pin and I set my own user pin. Good to know the service folks in Dulles are as good as the sales staff. I haven't used them yet but may do so down the road.
I'm lost. My Honda Shadow doesn't have a touch screen. Is it under the seat? 😉
Lol nah that’s where the nitrous bottle is 😁🏍️⚡️👍
Thinks Nick
Thanks Larry 🙂👍
what the dealer charger you to read the pin?
About 15 min of shop labor. Roughly $40.
@@TechNickRides that's not bad
Any excuse to ride is a good excuse!!!
Absolutely 🙂🏍️👍
I think I prefer to just have a key, and a spare!!!
I agree can’t go wrong with an extra key, although I don’t normally carry an extra one with me. if I did I would more afraid of losing both, lol
@ I would be pretty much guaranteed to lose both!😂😂 on a long trip, if I have a riding partner, I’ll give him the spare key…. And hope he doesn’t lose it!!
Hello Nick, playing catch up. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
Hello NonnaGrace, thank you for stopping by 🙂👋👍
I hate feeling rushed! I always left for work 30 minutes earlier than I needed to, even in the cage, just so I wouldn’t get rushed….
Yeah traffic can be unpredictable sometimes too for the commute. 🙂👍
I like to take my time to get out on the bike, but if someone calls at the last minute, I can get going pretty quickly. All of my gear, riding and camera, is kept very close to the bike.
Same for me. I can move pretty quick if need be. Although, not many people call me at the last minute. 😂
@ 😂😂 That’s actually good! Too many times I’m called at the last minute!!
When I had to be to work, I always got up 30 minutes earlier than if I was driving. Gearing up, and wanting to take it easy on the bike always added time to the commute.
I like that bike!!
Thank you Patrick, I’m really enjoying it 🙂🏍️👍
@ I am sure!
The Scout will make you feel like you’re on a sport bike after riding the big dresser. 😎👍🇺🇸
Ha! It definately felt like a different experience. 🙂🏍👍
"This bike used to feel heavy" - Funny how that works, isn't it? I felt the same way, hopping off my Street Glide and riding my Vulcan 800 again. Heck, my KZ650SR weighed about the same as my Vulcan 800, but felt like a completely different bike. I rode all 3 in one day... it was... interesting, to say the least. Good video, Nick!
Thank you John 🙂👍
it is weird switching bikes isn't it. The short time I had both the spyder and the ryker it felt weird.
Oh man absolutely, lol. 🙂🏍👍
Good one Nick
Thanks Larry 🙂👍
Ha...I recently experienced the same having been riding on my Springfield for a bit and then dropping back to my Super Chief Limited.
Oh man, I know it's crazy how when you go back to the bike you rode before and think how did I do this, lol
I rode a scout several years ago, I loved it. Are you in Roanoke or somewhere there, I see the mtns in the background.
I'm about 2 hours north of Roanoke. Lots of mountains surrounding us up here, always a place to go ride. 🙂🏍👍
I’d love to have several different bikes in my garage for different rides,a smaller bike to ride around town and knock about a big cruiser to get across country and a sporty bike to hot rod every now and then, but with that comes money 💰
Yeah, this is probably it for me. Used bikes are at least more reasonable that new ones. Hopefully prices might start going down too here in the near future.
So now your suffering for the multi bike blues. lol
Lol, I guess we could call it that. 😂🤣
I have a 21 Vintage Dark Horse and a 24 Bobber, I find myself riding the Bobber more but when I get back in the Vintage the ride is so great.
Yeah there's definitely a difference in the ride between the bigger bikes and the Scout. That mono air shock is a game changer for me coming from the Scout too.
I dont like to be rushed either. Yeah, you got to add more time when you take the bike
Yeah definately 🏍️👍
i always try to give myself time to get places so I can enjoy the ride. average speed in mass on the highway is like 85-90 mph. so good luck if you want to go 65 around here.
Lol 🐌 dang why is everyone in such a hurry 😂
Great topic. I generally have to give myself an extra 20 min to get ready, otherwise I never get out when I want to. That never happens when I'm in the car. Glad I am not the only one. The bike is sounding great!
Thank you, Jerry. Yeah, if I plan to ride the bike, I almost have to plan the night before and anticipate that I have to get ready early the next morning too, otherwise if I don't I'll have to take the car.
My gawd that thing is beautiful! Nice pick, bro!
Thanks man, shes a fun bike! 😎👍
