Gotta get some heated gear, man! Get the gloves first, wear a sweatshirt under your jacket [and a mesh jacket with a liner is pretty good]. You'll be surprised how comfy you get with just heated gloves - heck, I ride with my half helmet year 'round!
Yes I do need to invest in some heated gloves. I think I did take a ride on the Scout once when it was in the 30's. My hands about froze, but everything else was fine.
@@TechNickRides I recommend the wired ones, BTW. I once rode my Vaquero at 28F down to 25F. It was a night ride from 6pm to midnight in December. Over 100 miles. I was chilled to the core, but my hands were warm :D I went with heated grips on the Harley... and they're great, but in the 30s, the outside of my hands get cold.
@@TechNickRides Yep - takes good winter gloves to keep the wind from sapping the heat out of your hands. My 20yo Olympia gloves seem to do a good job LOL.
The cold weather is coming quick! I love OBX, and we go every year. I'm so glad you and your family got to go this year. That is one handsome bike! Heated gear is a gamechanger for me.
Yeah maybe I should get her venture out here with me here soon. Yeah y'all don't really need anything heated in GA, maybe some cool gear for the summer instead.
Thats awesome, is that the same Ferry thats near Chippokes State Park? We took that Ferry a couple years ago when we we're camping. Toured Jamestown and took in Busch Gardens for that weekend. Fun time. Man that would be an awesome ride to do. 😮😀🏍👍
Nice ride yes colder is coming love that bike my friend
Thank you, Ray. yes, fall riding is the best! 🙂🏍️👍
LOL, I tell my wife "I'm going for a 2 hour ride" - she knows not to expect me before 4 hours is up :D
Haha, I know the feeling! Gotta get those miles in! 😉🏍️👍
Nice ride in a beautiful area! I like your Chieftain! It sure is sharp bike. Ride safe brother!
Thank you! I really enjoy riding in this area! 😊🏍️👍

@RoadReality wow thats crazy, yeah I've heard the heated grips typically keep the palms of your hands warm but not the outside.

Thanks for sharing, she needs to ride with you more 👍👍👍👍
Yes she does, I do ask 🙂

Thanks, OBX is one of our favorite places to visit. Heated gear is definitely a must! 😎👍
Nice color on that Indian. I'm out enjoying this fall weather as well. Plan on hitting Skyline Drive tomorrow.
Thank you. The fall weather is awesome, and the fall colors are beautiful, enjoy the Skyline Drive trip tomorrow. 🙂🍁👍
I prefer mountain backroads, but it’s nice to ride along the beach once in a while to get the view and that ocean breeze!
I agree mountain roads are alot of fun, I guess I got the inclination of wanting to check out some of the coastal areas too.
Nice ride along Nick😊
Thanks Larry, hope you have a great weekend! 🙂👍
Coastal riding sound good don't get to do it much. You can't get her to go with you.
For me heated gear be waste of money for me

I ride to OBX every year. I ride down to Jamestown and take the ferry over. It makes for a great ride.

@@TechNickRides Jamestown-Scotland ferry. We should run a loop if you get down this way and check it out.
Take a ride for me. On bed rest for another 4 to 6 months after surgery 😞👍
Oh man I’m sorry brother. 😕 I hope you heal up quickly you’re in my thoughts and prayers 🙏. Hope to see y’all again next year at VAMM 🏍️👍
I use base layers, but I may look into some heated base layers.
Pick a direction, not a destination.
Take care, ride safe.
Great advice, its always nice to get to just in a direction and get lost
I just layer up and have heated gloves.. thats it. it works for the most part. But I don't ride in anything less than 45 so.. idk .
Yeah I need to invest in some heated gloves, I think that would help a great bit.
