Duke nukem is truly looking good. I love the flying pig cops, and the uh dancers. Only gripe is the rockets not looking down.
Using these voxels absolutely work with the Duke 3D art style! I could never get behind the HD packs because they felt like shiny stickers or poor 3D models pasted on a classic. One of my favorite parts is when you shoot the Pig from down below after the stripper area. You really get to apperciate your work when the angles are so low or high and then you're like "OMG that pig has a chin and lower jaw!" I also love how the PIG's patrol ships look. They make so much more sense. In the original, the ships moved too fluid through the sky compared to how limited their sprite views were. Anyways, thanks for entertaining us it looks amazing!
I know a place at the edge of the Red Light District where we can lay low, but my hands are all messed up, so you better drive, brother.

this is so brilliant. I think I would only wish for the models to not be able to rotate 360 degrees smoothly, but only at like 32 subdivision oor something, so that it looks even more retro although higher fidelity.

I loved this game in the 90's and the Voxel-version looks amazing! I wonder why they haven't done it that way back in the day? I mean games like Commanche already used voxel-graphics.

Heh, I reckon there might be some maphacks in the future so the former-sprites are rotated properly :)
This is the proof that you can do voxels right. I've seen so many voxel attempts at Doom and I think they all suck. They don't look natural at all and I wasn't sure if I have to blame voxels for that or the developers. But this video proves: The voxels are not the problem. In this video they integrate perfectly into the game as if they had always belonged there.
Damn man, this is like what I wanted a Duke 3D + Duke 64 port to kind of look like, like an ultimate mishmash. Voxel DN looks p. Cool :O

From the bottom angles looking up it looks SOOOOO much better.
Looks awesome, great work man. I wonder if the devs can write a patch so enemies are not always perfectly facing you. That locking on, really takes away from being able to see the dimensionality.
As others have noted, the effect is really subtle in-gameplay. My guess is that this is because Duke was closer to an early on-rail ’story’ shooter like Half-Life than an arena / boomer shooter like Doom. The engine was also much more demanding at the time, so we tend to see less enemies in populated areas than in Doom, where the voxel effect on the enemies is able to pops much more clearly, imho. Plus in Duke, the general lack of enemy infighting of course means the player doesn’t get to see too many angles of live opponents if they’re on the same plane vertically. Subtle, but looks great! It’s like the game always came like this. (Gotta’ admit, though - my early teen ass would have loved to have those voxel strippers instead of the sprites. 😁)

Cant get over the fact how well the voxel look gels with the Doom/Duke era games.
Outstanding work as always! Wondering if the weapon models could be turned into voxels. Some weapon sway and some rotation based on viewing angle could look amazing!

I love the work you’re doing and can’t wait for the release. Although, I think you are doing a disservice to yourself with the game capture footage being so choppy. I don’t mean this in an insulting way, but I just think the voxel models would look better shown off with a smoother game capture.

This looks great!!! The higher resolution of the 2D sprites in general makes the 3D voxels itself way more convincing than what was possible with Voxel Doom 2 (especially when standing next to an enemy / corpse). Can't wait for this to be finished somewhere in the future; once that happens, I'll never again play Duke Nukem 3D with the sprite based enemies & items & such.

Yeah! Blood is a better game,i finish duke nukem and remenber few things,but with blood remenber so much things,the caleb quotes are interesting, the duke nukem is a unidimensional character
@@deloreanmcfly3063 I just want him to finish the mod because the Fresh Supply versions has incomplete and uncolored frames for caleb and some props are either floating or stuck in the ground.
