Thank you so much for this. Alan was wonderfully kind and generous and a friend to anyone who was interested in him and his work, He was my closest friend for the last seven years of his life and we were collaborating on his memoirs (sadly never completed) He emailed me about 18 hours before he died that he was "feeling not too brill" and unusually said "love you" casually to sign off (he usually did just "XOXOX Alan" in better times) and he was hospitalized about 3 hours later and then never made it through til dawn on the Sunday.. He would have really cherished your kind words, especially to take this horrible virus seriously, He was a pretty healthy guy for his age and liked to use the gym in his building at night when everyone was asleep and always liked to arrive at gigs just as he was about to go on to avoid drinking too much waiting around. His Dad lived to 90 and his mum is still alive, she will be 96 this year, so he had a pretty amazing longevity gene, I thought he would outlive me, I told him he had to, because how could I be without him? we only met twice in person, as I live in the UK but we were online to each other pretty constantly, and we just jelled as personalities, we understood each other , mind to mind, platonically of course. I've never really had that with anyone else and he meant so much to me. Still means so much to me. He became closer than my own brother .. I mourn him and celebrate him every day via Facebook and other platforms and I am always happy to tell people what an amazing talent he was as well as a smart, funny, generous and amazing human being. If he could have seen this tribute to him he would have been so happy he sent that package to such a deserving recipient :) I envy you those badges now, he offered some to me, and I would have loved one that had just him on, without Jake or Paul as the Arrows phase of his career is not my preferred listening. I like Vodka Collins and his solo career more . Thanks again for your kind tribute to my beloved friend ♥💔♥💔♥

Tremendous haul for $40...I'd have bought half a dozen of those based on the condition and I probably owned 60% of what you showed anyway...The Zevon and Trower pronunciations gave me a chuckle, but you'll get the hang of those two fantastic artists...Really great for $40...Spectacular in fact...Hoy Hoy is like a greatest hits for a band (Little Feat) that should have been in the RRHOF like 30 years ago...You really scored and while realizing this video is five years old, you still probably don't even realize how much...Well done!...

As for The Beths, I'm biased because I got into them with their first album Future Me, Hates Me and saw them live for that tour, so I tend to recommend people start with their first album, but that's just me. My next favorite is 2020's Jump Rope Gazers. By now, I've seen then a few times live, mostly recently at the end of August 2024. That's a nice variety of VCLT!

Great gift. I have heard of The Groundhogs but I don't think that I have ever checked out their music. I don't know Split Single, so I will have to check them out.

Aloha Emma, Amazing VCLT ! Jim never disappoints! Cool Ground Hogs re-released, I first listened to Groundhogs Blues Obituary at a headshop or was it at Whole Earth Book Store anyway one of those places back in 1969-70. Then a few years later I got to hear the 1st record album. Classic Groundhogs

Hey Emma, thank you for pressing record and uploading your first video six years ago. You make great videos. Coming up in March will be a John Mayall 30 CD deluxe box set. I remember watching some of Jeff's videos when I first started. What is strange is that I have some Sugar and Bob Mould solo music but nothing by Husker Du. Who can that be? I was an avid watcher of Jeff’s channel. It’s nice to see him back into the fold. Jethro Tull is a great listen. I could never get into Husker Du, or Metallica, I have no reason, I don’t know why !! You got some wonderful listening material.

Love a bit of Tull! My favourite period is the more bucolic phase of Songs from the Wood, Heavy Horses and to an extent Stormwatch. I tend to find that anything associated with that UK folk revival is a little underpriced here in the U.S., so these are still often to be had for a song. Always nice in this age of disappearing bargains. :)
