    I love stories like this. Intimate shows like those are the best. Copper Blue is one of my favorite albums too. Bought the cd when it came out, need to get it on vinyl. I saw Bob at the Metro in 1993. Fantastic show, of course. I love that you got a lot of things signed too. You'll treasure them in the years to come. Great video Emma!

      JEFFFFF!!!! Hey Jeff! :) totally agree with your take on intimate shows. Bob at the Metro must’ve been awesome. Thanks for watching!! See you in the chat.

    Hey Emma, sounds like you had a great night. I love a bit of Galaxie 500. This Is Our Music became my cassette to fall asleep to in high school (along with the freaky Piano by Teardrop Explodes)… good times. It’s great when you meet your musical heroes and even better when they are genuinely good people! Great video, Jack

      Hey Jack! This Is Our Music is excellent, too. All of their releases are solid. I agree - sometimes you don’t know what to expect. When they’re kind, genuine people, it makes me even more of a fan of theirs. Thanks for stopping by!

    Wow! This was a really cool concert review AND meet and greet experience. Plus a panel! So nice that some artists still take the time to talk to their fans and sign some stuff. These are memories you’ll always have. Unless of course you get dementia, then you’re screwed. You always seem taller in the pictures you show. On camera I assume you are a pixie, but your pictures don’t look that way. Perplexing. You know what? I never knew the origin of your channel name until this video. Maybe I just missed it before. Or maybe I have dementia? Oh God! Do I? Great video Emma!

      Hey Gary!!!! Thank you! My memory is already shit - so oh well. 🤣 I’m a shortie … 5’4 on a good day. I was just wearing healed boots in these photos. LOL. I need to keep people guessing, ya know? Anyway, what did you say and where were we at? I don’t know … dementia maybe.

      Hey Brian! Thanks for stopping by. Glad to know that you’re Team Bob, too. If you ever have the chance to see him on these solo electric gigs, he’s usually hanging around after the shows. Super kind guy. Hope you have a great weekend. See you around!!

    I know Dean Wareham most from Luna, too. Sounds like I need to start diving into Galaxie 500! Bob Mould, of course, is a legend. And what a wonderful stroke of serendipity to come across Eight Mile High before meeting him! Mark sounds like a good guy. Of course, I have an affinity for the name! Thanks for sharing your story and records!

      Hey Mark!! Serendipitous for sure. I had a hugeeee smile on my face when I saw it on the wall. It was meant to be. All the Marks I know are good people :) I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

    Excellent video. Super cool you were able to get those albums signed. You seem to meet many artists when you go to these small gigs. Great job doing so.
    A couple John Mayall live albums were released yesterday. One was John Mayall - Through The Years Live 60's To 80's and the other was John Mayall & Bluesbreakers - Live At Capitol Theater (June 18, 1982). Would you be interested in those records? Asking for a friend. 🎅
    Have an awesome weekend!

      Hey Jim!! I have really great concert luck. Not sure exactly what it is. I haven’t really had a bad concert experience outside of maybe some obnoxious people … but that’s about it. I had no idea about those new Mayall releases. I’ll have to look into those. 😉 Hope all is well on your end. Have a wonderful weekend!

    Luna is one of my all time favorite bands. Penthouse is a top 10 album for me and Bewitched is their second best. Love this band and everything else Warham has done. Bob Mould, I bought all his box sets and Husker Du is one of my favorite groups of all time. This would have been Nirvana to me.

    • @EightVinylLow
      @EightVinylLow  2 місяці тому

      Hey Steve!! I feel like I was first exposed to Luna through you? I can’t remember now, but that would honestly make sense. I’m sure you’ve talked about/shown them before. It definitely was an awesome experience. How’s everything going on your end? Great to hear from you! Have a great weekend.

    Great video. Nice to see other Husker Du / Bob Mould fans out and about. Workbook turned me onto his music first which then got me to explore his first band.
    Sugar is awesome as well.
    I put him and Beck as very influential to some emerging artists these days.
