Just went to the pinnacles a few days ago to shoot photos. On a road trip to AZ and had to hit it. Trona is a trip. Been thru there before and it's just odd. I love it.

I attended a training course in San Francisco, CA in 1979 to learn how to comply with new (draconian) environmental regulations that were promulgated by the EPA. They were tyrannical and included $75,000 per day fines for every conceivable (alleged) violation of ridiculous and bizarre new environmental regulations. At the end of the three-day course, a fellow course attendee (representing the S. Cal. Kaiser Steel Mill) concluded and privately stated to me that these (ridiculous) tyrannical regulations meant that the Kaiser Steel Company in San Bernardino, CA would have to close (which it then soon did). These bizarre/tyrannical regulations also applied to all the other struggling steel mills in the US and seriously took a toll on our countries' ability to produce our own steel. These new excessive regulations really didn't help much but certainly were the death blow to our steel independence for our country. Anti-american communist countries couldn't be happier with an Anti-american EPA let loose to destroy our manufacturing base and employment opportunities. EPA was set up thru the unconstitutional NEPA (national environmental policy act). Last I heard, the former steel mill this iron ore suppled was turned into a car race-track! How will this racetrack help if we are ever in a war with China and they won't sell us the steel we need to make tanks, etc. in our now non-existent vehicle manufacturing plants (thanks again EPA!).

I was just out there today. They are building a brand new high school because it was too damaged during the earthquake in 2019. Nice people put there though.

Please remember that the fish you had with your chips ,your smoked haddock and roe was caught by hard working men that worked this vessel riskink life and limb to get that food on your dish through all wind and weather,and now their work is just taken for granted ,to see this sad and dying trawler washed up and rotting hurts my soul 😢😢😢😢😢

The old mills are so interesting to think about the work that was done there and how much they provided to the community around them. And to think that these buildings have been standing for hundreds of years.

Though a significant number arrived in the UK at the outset of WW2 the number of children living in the area would surely have been insignificant; in short, a bad idea! This ruin will be totally reclaimed by 'Mother Nature' and I suggest that the barbed wire serves solely as a safety measure for the inquisitive. hm i seen a ghoust like figure with my uncle once and i pointed it out and my uncle pulled a gun out of nowhere ad shot some rounds at it and the screeching they ghoust thing made was terrifying and i can still remember that schreecing i can never forget that experiance
