I have one of these Chinese diesel motors I swapped on to a 1969 Sears garden tractor. Got the tractor with a blown engine so I swapped the diesel over. Rattles to no end but rolls coal out of the stack and has enough torque to tow anything I can find and the tractor has a 6 speed manual so with the lowest gear I could tow more. Gonna use it to plow snow this winter and btw I have a video of it on my channel I had to do for a school project.
I don’t use the motor much these days. My UA-cam videos have slowed way down. New career new things to learn. It’s taking a toll. I’m not done filming. I have projects filmed. They are waiting on me
I have the same engine and I put it on my reel mower a year ago. So far, it works ok. Two things I don't like about it: 1. It's too loud (I need hearing protection) 2. It vibrates terribly.
@@ColdStartGarage so far mine hasn’t so yeah nothing happened to me other then I got slapped on my leg with the chain but just gave me a scratch and but a hole in my pants
They grow up so fast! It brings tear to my eye he started it the right way this time LOL 🍺🤣👍 I had to say something couldn't handle suffering anymore as poor guy started it! I do enjoy a good youtube suffering on video! honestly though one point we all make that error when first screw with small diesel. Had one once about huffed and puffed trying to start it for hour..... then older guys laughing like watch this...... SOB! started right up without a broken wrist!
Ouch. I have one. Sichuan Sifa MB168F. I bought a 3/4 to one inch shaft adapter and honed the inside to .787 = 20 MM. With a 1 inch keyed shaft, I bought a 7 inch thin Vee belt pulley for an alternator. Your shims only change the throttle position. A governor is your friend because it makes your speed stable. Cold starts? Hot water on the cylinder. Mount it? On thick plate aluminum and not any kind of thin wall steel. I use 15W 40 oil and pump diesel. 196 CC's means it's a very small diesel good for 1 to 1 n 1/2 horsepower. I avoid the lowest idle and unnecessary high revs. Oil consumption is much higher than other motors so check quite often. If you don't respect it, it won't give you 2000 plus hours. It takes about 100 to break in.
Thanks for your insight. The little motor is shoved in the deepest corner of my shop. Cool little guy. But it was just a basic introduction to diesels for me. I had it on a gokart for a bit
@@ColdStartGarage You got it. These are probably the most precious engines we own. The castings are over the top. The dimensions are very tight. The alloys are meticulous.
You're either Canadian or from the upper Midwest of the United States because of your accent but it's nothing wrong with I don't know what the I'm from the 7 cities of Southeastern Virginia
@@ColdStartGarage yeah maybe to make it roll more coal do some injection timing did that on my minibike and got a little more top end out of it but if u go to far then the low end has no power and I tried retarded timing and got a whole lot of low end torque but no top end power so I stuck with a hair of advanced timing and ended up blowing the chain off and you need to start uploading more cause I like your videos
They are pricy at the princess auto. 200 more at tractor supply it could come with an engine. Mini bike that is. So facepage market place might be the best option.
@@ColdStartGarage they where on sale not long ago that might of been when I seen them and yeah mark place is a deadly joint lol makes you buy a quad you didn't really need just for a challenge lol

Great and informative content here. Can't wait to see the new rotational bonuses propel you guys.
The Open exhaust, no shim driveway revs that occurred @13:58 revved really cleanly. No breaking up in the ketchup zone. This is notable.
Hmm. I was so focused on the twigs blowing around I completely missed that. I went back and watched it really quick 🤣
Food stamp light bulbs had me chuckling.
🤣
Bbf sent me here. love the channel
Thanks! Glad you found the channel. 🤘🏻🏁
I actually bypassed the governor on my little minibike gasser and just put a zip tie through and around the spring and it works great
We don’t need no government involvement with our small engines
@@ColdStartGarage yeah but I gets sketchy full throttle and sounds dangerous but really lived it up
Tell me about it. My knee right by the case bouncing off cutout. If it did let lose I may need a prosthetic after that 🤣

The way I start mine is I don't yank on that quarter anymore I use a gokart bump box

@stanleybest8833 after theses first few videos. I stoped thrashing it. It’s in a safe spot. Forgive my ignorance in my videos. 🏁🏁🏁🤘🏻
This is sport diesel !!! 😂🎉❤

I dont know if hobo freight is the same as princess auto .. but if it is you can buy cart and mini bike carcasses
