I love my guitarman Eric he so gorgeous and I almost see them in 1976 in Atlantic City New Jersey USA with Ian was in the group then but tickets were sold out I was upset
Very interesting article, Blaine...thanks! Looking forward to what comes next...KOR!
digging your shirt! Respect!
Did you write this song yourself? Pretty good and love the tune.
@@SusanOganessian-cv6zd I did! Thank you! It was a lot of fun to play.
Yes you did talk against Eileen. I remember when Karen and I were still friends. You said something against Eileen and it had such backlash that you had to take it down.
This is a long one, but I feel a need to say it: The people who deny the statements of fact that Fil documents right on the screen in his videos are foolish. It doesn't matter who Fil is. It doesn't matter whose videos he examines. The data is the data. I understand the data. I know sound, I know A to D and D to A conversion, I know electronics and music. I can glance at the data FIl shows and will tell you exactly what he tells you without ever having listened to what he says about it. He's not talking about the performers. He isn't expressing an opinion. He's overlaying data. He's talking about what the data shows. He isn't interpreting trends, or probabilities. There is no argument about it. Any audio tech on planet Earth will glance at the data and tell you the same thing Fil tells us. It's like reading the words of this post. If someone else posts exactly the same words I am posting in my comment here, then anyone who can read will tell you that one of us plagiarized the other. Anyone can tell that. It's not a matter of opinion or interpretation. It's simply impossible for 2 long comments to be identical by chance. The physical alignment of frequency, phase, and amplitude over time of an acoustic waveform being absolutely identical is orders of magnitude more unlikely than all of the words of a long comment. It's even easy to tell if a professional opera singer sang the same note twice, or once and you have 2 copies of it. That's as large a sample as is necessary to tell if they are different. They can try all day long to create 2 absolutely identical notes, but they can't. They certainly can't create an exact copy of an entire song or any part of it. If they aren't faking it, then the data (and Fil) says they aren't faking it. Pretty simple. If they are faking it, then the data shows they are faking it, and Fil shows where they are faking it. Then the only thing for a decent performer to do is to acknowledge it. I once went to a David Bromberg show where he came out on the stage and rasped out that he had laryngitis, and it had gotten worse all day long, not better, and that anyone who wanted to could get their money back at the club's bar, but that he would put on what show he could for those who had gone to the trouble to come for the show. Everyone in the club looked around at everyone else. No one moved, no one. People on their way to the bar for another beer stopped in their tracks because they didn't want David Bromberg to think that they didn't consider him worth the money they'd paid for a ticket to the show. We all could have gotten our money back and still stayed for the show, but we all just stayed right in our seats. He smiled, and said "Thank you. I'll do my best." He did, and it was damn good. Yes, he croaked and rasped some, and no one gave a damn. Other times the words out of his mouth pulled our hearts right out of our chests or made us all feel like badasses. Of course his guitar work was as superb as ever. It was David Bromberg, and he was putting on a show of raw talent and wonderful music, performed from the heart, music that affected us. It was the best show I ever went to. I treasure the memory. That is what some entertainers don't understand. We're fans of their music, but we're also very much fans of them. We relate to their music. We respect their talent and their skill. They have given us something of themselves, something that matters to us. It has helped us feel better. They are friends we've never met. We don't come to their shows for perfection. We have perfection sitting on their albums at home. We come for them. David Bromberg understood that. He showed honesty, and respect for his fans, friends he didn't know. Ken Tamplin doesn't understand that, and his dishonesty and lies cost him what friends he had, when all he ever had to do was be honest. But I get the feeling that he hasn't been honest for a very, very long time.
....." I'm not pisshed hon est" !!! 😲😅
Eric was 21 when that came out, alan,Derrick getting into the 30s.
They got the clothes idea from slade.jeans were turned up ,being teenagers.
What do you mean michelerosevear7466,especially Eric?hes a great song writer.
These are songs Eric has already written these song,he has said on film he needed to get his music from tape to vinyls,or wherever, having heard some of his stuff.
As Eric has said, the best part of the rollers for him when he became a member with th original members
As Ken says, "The proof is in the syncing."
Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Ray Davies, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Dolly Parton, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Paul Weller and....... Eric Faulkner!!!😁😂😂🤣😂😅😅😂🤣
Now you're getting it!
Pissed again!! 😂
All Ken Tamplin has to do is apologize, atone, and move on. Yet it seems he has doubled and triple down.
Great set of songs.I will be listening to this several times. Some I remember some are new to me.
None of us are perfect. Every time in my life I’ve been found out for wrongdoing I’ve found that totally coming clean and apologising has been the best thing to do. It immediately defuses all the tension and brings out other people’s ability to forgive.
Tamplin and his group are pretty good at faking it. What Tamplin should do now is teach people how to fake it. I haven’t seen anyone do that, but I’ve seen several big-named groups faking it and screwing it up much worse than Tamplin’s group did.
Not sure why, but I’m feeling a Kinks influence? Another great song Blaine! 😊
Very interesting. It could be. The Kinks were such a diverse band that I wouldn't know where to start! I have listened Muswell Hillbillies quite a few times - I hope I didn't steal anything lol.
🙂💥Very good!!👍💥😊
Hi Blaine, I definitely appreciate your time, effort and devotion to BCR insights and history. It's truly dreadful that you are criticized/attacked by trolls. Those whose "magical thinking" who claim truth despite reality are probably the same people who claim lizard aliens control world events (ha, ha). Hang in there, Blaine 😄
Lies are the new truth .
Eric Faulkner is one of the best songwriters that the UK ever produced. He is underappreciated.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣😂
You should have started your podcast without the dog on your lap. It's a distraction from the beginning.
Blaine I love listening to you and agree 100%!
Was Alan sick before he went to Mexico, or did he get sick in Mexico? I was thinking if Alan got sick in Mexico from a "mysterious virus", could it actually have been Covid before we really know about Covid?
During their concerts, specifically in the USA, did the band or did they not actually sing live, sing to tracts, or lip sing? Thank you
@@pattiglaser6335 they were live. A very good recording exists on Rollerworld which is available on Spotify and probably iTunes.
Ken is a full blown narcissist.
i got to 1:30, bailing. you need to have an outline of what you want to say. too scrambled.
Duke has the start of another song
Eric said he kept everything.
There are no rollers,Eric does his own sit down stuff,Derrick isn't interested and Alan is dead.
Just discovered your channel and am TREMENDOUSLY pleased that I now have someplace other than Facebook to go to for news of the Rollers and particularly of Eric, who I believe has always been the most talented member. Not to dwell on it too much, but Facebook is absolutely poisonous for serious fans of Roller music and the so-called fan organization Eric had (may still have) called Frontline is more toxic yet. Thank you for posting Roller content here - you can be sure I am now a subscriber.
That will be the same Frontline that refused you entry on many occasions because of YOUR toxicity towards Eric's family, friends, colleagues and other fans?
Hey Blaine where can you hear the Eric interview ?
@@John-sh3fn check in the description of my review of his new album.
The childish double down is hard to watch. Reminds me of when my granddaughter tried to convince me that her cat broke her laptop screen.
Have supported Eric and his solo career for as many years as I knew about it - you had to keep your ear to the ground before the internet, with pen pals, etc., as he and other BCRs were not given much press (or any!) after Les left the band. I feel so grateful to have gotten a lot of his fan club releases in the past. P.S. HI BELLA, you cutie!
Keep on doing what you're doing, Blaine--we all have your back! I always enjoy watching your videos and appreciate your insight. As to those "people"...they need to grow up and/or get lost! Keep on a rockin' and a rollin"!🎸🎵🎶❤
Your life certainly isn't as boring as the Shell Dwellers, that's for sure. They are frothing at the mouth. Rabies, maybe? It affects the brain, does it not?
Blaine you are spot on! I agree 100% with what Kelly said. You are doing a great job and I appreciate you too. These low life’s have nothing better to do than complain and play victim but they can NEVER show any evidence or facts. It’s comical 🤣
Blaine, keep on being you! We got you! ❤ I enjoy and appreciate you and your channel. Some people ‘obviously’ still havent gotten a life after 50 years..😂
@@kellylonberger1592 thanks for your support!
As a long time singer I don’t understand why you would fake your singing on your youtube channel.. Just sing and play. Let people comment. If it’s live people will forgive some of your mistakes. We all make them. Live, in the studio. It’s no big deal. If you use pre recorded vocals for some stuff, just say it in your disclaimer and why you’re doing it. Sometimes you can use it for effect or to just try it out. But don’t lie about it. Pro’s will find out and they will call you out.
Yes...he is the best but what else would I say--you know me! With the song "Dave's Not Pleased, it's a great song but I keep hearing "Check Out The Babe" and I love that one so much. Gossamer Dream...my absolute favorite one! It's so great to hear him playing electric guitar--I listened to the replay of his interview--yes, he said that he got a new neck for his strat but he also said that he had to get used to the thinner neck of an electric (versus acoustic). All I can say is I'm thrilled that he's getting out there again...I'm happy to donate to the cause--we need more music from Eric!
Yet you are on facebook, what the he'll.
Eric is Scottish not American.
How do you know Eric changed the neck of his guitar.since they got ripped off,he has to keep going.
I don’t think asking people to donate is greedy…..everyone has to make a living… no one expects a nurse , hairdresser, builder, plumber etc to work for free, why should he? It’s not like he got all the money for his previous works….any job worth doing, is worth doing well, and that takes cash….im happy to donate….😊
Oh I certainly hope I didn't make him sound greedy. What I was saying was I am greedy for more songs! LOL
@@blaineca I didn't get the feeling you were calling Eric himself greedy and I'm sure others didn't interpret it that way either. However, until I am certain Eric has rid himself of his vindictive hangers-on I can't in good conscience donate anything - I could never potentially risk supporting anything as harmful to the fans and ultimately to Eric's career as the people he had managing him some 8 or 10 years ago. Once I am certain he's well shed of those people he can count on my support.
@@patriciad.b.1735 Hi Patricia - fancy seeing you here!
I have to say, I was sort of thinking…” well, maybe?” But I thought a bit more…the so called branding of the Rollers put all of them in the position where no one took them seriously and they had to be twice as good and fight twice as hard for any respect or recognition they got….if you separate the preconceived notions you have about Eric or any of the guys, you can see they were all quite talented…Tam Paton basically nailed a target on their collective back when it comes to making a name for themselves as serious artists… it really does suck…thanks for helping to dispel the notion that they are candy coated bubble gum pop tarts
Tamplin is an ego maniac.
I’m glad Ken SCAMplin is finally being exposed for the narcissistic FRAUD that he is. Karma is a helluva thing.
Enjoyed your video. Especially anything Eric Faulkner 👍🤟❤️🔥🏴
It is totally natural for middle-aged male singers to lose maybe a half octave from their high register - which can make things very awkward if you're known for a song you can't sing anymore. Sting of The Police still tours, but he performs his hits in a different key and he isn't particularly honest (in my opinion) when he avoids explaining that or other people like his band members offer odd reasons for why the song doesn't sound like it should. You can understand Tamplin finding this ageing process very difficult to navigate when his Vocal Academy videos seem obsessed with how to get the high notes. He's still a decent front man for an OG rock band - unlike Elton John and Rod Stewart who basically have about 3 notes left and should have retired 15 years ago, or perhaps even 20 years ago. Same for Tom Jones.
Throughly enjoyed this video, Blaine. You've introduced me to some great music that I hadn't heard before...I esp. loved Wire, Idol Rich, and Gang of Four. You know me, though....Gossamer Dream by Eric Faulkner is my favorite song off of his new album. He really rocks it with Retro Jive, Before The Edge, and Hungarian Goulash too! I've always loved Pop Star--wish it were longer! Thanks for the musical journey...
@@michelerosevear7466 very good to hear. I think Eric and Idol Rich fit in perfectly with post punk!
