    Approximately on avarage, how much ink does the printer use pr. square unit? Or sheet size if you like ;)

    THANK YOU!! no one in the canon pro 1000 group was helpful. This happened to me after I put non ink jet paper in a couple weeks ago. Then it would only do this on A4 prints. Although. I had my paper stored not flat for a while so maybe that is an issue too. Anyway it’s working now! ❤

    I am staying with my q2 for all the reasons you mentioned in this video. The new q343 is surely tempting but I have a feeling the q2 will stay with me. Every mechanical item will have its drawbacks and new models will always be introduced. What I do rely on is Leica as my favorite brand of camera.

    One small technical point, Mallory. If you are in "auto-ISO", you're not really "fully manual". Nice explanations for many things. It would be nice to explain for some why they should be dialing in a high frame rate - instead of just telling them to do it. Yes, it's an extra step that sounds obvious, but in some of the best videos in photography on UA-cam, the photographers break almost everything down step by step and why they are doing what they do. As an aside, using "exposure compensation" in the "auto-ISO" mode is almost an oxymoron. That is, if you dial in a positive EC, it does not increase "exposure" - in the strict sense of the word, but increases the amplification of gain (noise and signal) post exposure. That is, it does not technically "add light" as you said, but simply "brighten" the image and noise you have already captured. Not trying to "beat a dead horse" here, but technically you can only improve your exposure (or "increase it") in one of three ways: 1. Improved scene light (i.e. sunshine over shade, flash, etc), 2. Increase aperture, or 3. Slower shutter speed. Each of those items will improve the number of photons captured by a sensor and improve the signal to noise ratio. Lastly, "auto-ISO" is not an "Automatic fixed setting" - but an automatic adjustable setting. Just curious, where in Central Texas are you? Just came back from Rockport (Hummer festival) which has been a fun trip every year.

    some advice, if you like architecture, seascapes and landscapes; you can't go past Kodak Gold 200, Fuji Acros 100 or Kodak EkTar 100 films (Acros is B&W film), colours of foliage, and for the black and white, the contrast of buildings, more so the 1900's style designs is unsurpassed, you will definitely be proud of them.

  • @andyvan5692

    also for changing lenses, or adding ext. tubes or bellows etc. the thing closest to the CAMERA goes on FIRST, and the lens LAST, and try to NEVER add anything to a lens, then mount the assembly to the body, just asking for a mechanical jam, these are NORMAL, and part and parcel of ownership of this beauty, so just go slow, like they say about traffic lights, STOP, THINK, THEN go!, leads to less errors (esp. when each roll is $17.00 each!). also due to the 'film magasine' design you MAY come across some light leakage, if the image IS there, but flare over the top, like you spilled coffee on it, thats the BACK, it has foam seals where the darkslide goes, these are worn and need replacing, so TEST a back before important shoots, to ensure its light tight, and use LENS HOODS, they save your pictures!- especially in bright light.

  • @andyvan5692
    @andyvan5692 12 днів тому

    love the unboxing, but keep in mind the dx, Fx crop factor is reversed here, aka a 30mm is a 17 mm lens in 135 terms, so ALL lenses are telephotos, so for shooting hand held, don't go longer than 1/125th and also if you shoot 1/15th or slower a baffle system is in the body (looks like doors top\bottom opening) these close the INSTANT you let the shutter button or cable release go!, and if the shutter is at 1/4 second your exposure is short! so HOLD ON, until the click is heard, then its safe.

  • @andyvan5692
    @andyvan5692 12 днів тому

    not a mirror, ONLY, it goes through a prism also, where all four corners of the image are refracted, L\R are reversed! an LF camera hasn't even a mirror, so Top /Bottom are reversed too.( the mirror does top and bottom correction).

    I’m about to get a Pro-4600. What’s interesting is the Pro-2600 includes 160ml cartridges, while the Pro-4600 includes 330ml cartridges. The price of the 2600 and an extra 160ml ink set to match the 4600’s larger stock cartridges is more expensive than the Pro-4600. So if you are looking for an even larger printer go with the 4600 and save some money on ink, and enjoy the larger prints. Paper is more economical at larger sizes per foot.

    The tripod is more for the shutter speed than aperture. Aperture does not effect motion blur, esp. at infinity focus.

I especially appreciate the advice on using a remote shutter to avoid scaring them away. By the way, I have a UA-cam short video on my channel featuring a 39-picture sequence of a ruby-throated hummingbird, taken with a Nikkor Micro 105mm lens and a Nikon Z6 body. I’d love to hear your expert opinion on it!

    Mallory. As a cyclist as well. I have for years have been the group photographer. At this time I carry the tough 7. Previous was tough 5, cannon elphi and cannot remember before that. I have a large necklace size strap and the camera sits just inside my jersey or sometimes my bra has a Pocket. Good on cold days, but not on sweaty days. I use a bungo bag on the top tube often as well. Consistent carry dying all sports gave me the skills to use the camera effectively from the saddle, run, and kayak. Etc… keep the shutter fast. Most century rides cover harsher light hours of the day. In group rides, we don't typically stop much and rides last from just under 5 hours to 8 hours. Depending on terrain, purpose and the group. Good luck. Maybe I should do a shooting from the saddle video.

    Very nice. This video was very helpful. In my case I use my Canon R5 with a 24mm 1.8 or my 14-35mm F4 lens using the internal intervalometer (as you suggested) with a cheap Bluetooth remote to kick off the long exposure without touching the camera. The intervalometer I set to 1 seconds interval for 30 seconds each then set the number of frames to 0 so that the camera keeps going until I decide, or the battery dies. Using PhotoPills under "Spot Starts" I was able to dial in my focal length my desire F-stop and the app told me how long each exposure should be. With this same setup I've been able to do light painting on old, abandoned buildings/farms. When focusing looks like I was able to get away with focusing on the building or farm instead of the starts and still got nice trails. I especially like the ability to do time laps video in one sitting. Thank you!

    To eliminate camera shutter shake entirely, I have used the bulb setting. Hold a matt black shield/hat or similar over the lens (without touching it of course) then open the shutter. Wait as long as you like until all vibrations have ceased, then remove the shield for the requisite time. I usually count the seconds. Once the required time has elapsed, cover the lens again and then close the shutter.
