The Lomograflok was a game changer, as it brought modern instant backs to the market on a commercial scale. Graflex cameras, view cameras, and many other professional cameras, could now use instax wide. I love instax wide film, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I want to do the OG thing and shoot Polaroid integral film(i type, 600, and sx-70). The warm and artsy feel of the medium can be quite ...

The Polaroid 600se and Mamiya Universal Press Lo-Fi 4x5 Graflok adapters with Lomograflok! Part One
Do I understand it correctly that the first two of the group of 3 adapters you presented at the end of the video are reproductions of the originals from Mamiya so if I have the Mamiya Press and the RB67 I simply can take the adapers from there and put them onto the Miniportrait? Without any adaptation? Which adapters are these? G and M?
Just got it 😂I’m beside myself excited
Couldn't you have secured the cover on the left using the left hinge instead of using zip ties?
I tried, but there are limitations to the resolution of FDM printing resolution.
I need to sell some stuff I need one of each square wide mini itype 35mm and 120
Ant wait to get one of these
How framing your shot with this back? Are the framelines still accurate or do you need to compensate?
Since there is a slight offset of down and to the left mechanically due to the roller cage, you would compensate by framing slightly up and to the right. It takes a little getting used to, but will eventually feel like second nature!
Will this work on the Polaroid 800 Land Camera as well?
Yes, it works fine on an 800, just be sure to specify the model during checkout. Thanks! Aaron
Waiting for mine in the mail!
Great but I don’t think you will get the Fp100c quality..best regards
I will if I put the packfilm back on it and shoot fp100c! I am, and always will be a huge fan of packfilm!
Would you make a wide version of it?
Yes- here it is: www.ebay.com/itm/135107048641
I just ordered your 600 film back for mine!
Have you ever converted one of these to use 120 film?
Sure! It installs just like the 110, no problem!
Maybe you've already answered, but is there any chance one day you'll be coming up with an exo conversion for the Colopack 100 polaroid land camera ? I really wish I could shoot on it, without spending hundreds of dollars on expired pack films, nor having to break this beautiful camera...
Are you referring to the 100 automatic(the one with the grey front face plate)? I currently have three kits that will fit the 100 automatic, the exo iw, the exo is, and the exo2x3gl!
Just to show how much your efforts and creativity, I'm giving over a camera I got for free. Try not to laugh too hard.
I am a Polaroid geek- I doubt I will laugh!
Thank you so much for these Aaron. Thanks for being an artist and not a market chaser.
And thank you for being such a great friend!
How to order?
@@boxcustom www.ebay.com/itm/135107048641
Do you think this would be possible to do to a polaroid 95?
Yes, this kit works for the 95 as well!
Love your work. I'm still struggling with which of your models to order though. If only i could afford 3 or 4 of them. 😅
I can't even tell you how much I appreciate your work man
Thank you for doing what you do!
Thank you for doing what you do!
I have a OneStep 2 VF, which has a half moon cut out on the lens outer circle. I have not been able to find another example of it online, and it seems like it is missing some attachment. Have you encountered this variant of the camera?
Perhaps you could send me a photo of this?
Hi there LoFi. I've been looking at this and your 600se model for some time. One concern i have, is access to viewfinder, if i'll be able get my eye up close to the window. Having to look through the viewfinder from an inch away doesnt work well for me. Thoughts? Thanks
Hello- my goal is always three things: Totally non-destructive and reversible, simplicity of install and use, and, having met the prior two parameters, set up for the film plane exactly. Unfortunately this often means an offset to the film, as well as the challenge you described as a distance from the viewfinder. I have found that, despite wearing glasses, I can get used to this. As you mentioned, though, it may not work well for you.
@@lofianddiy yeah i get that, being an avid collector with over 1500 cameras on display and a 100% analog shooter i also much prefer not to cut up the camera and have nothing but respect for your philosophy. Just trying to figure out how big the viewfinder issue will be for me before buying. I tried clamping my lomograflok to a polaroid 120 and that distance is just too much for me, makes the viewfinder very uncomfortable. Would you say the problem is less on your 600se build than the 110? I have most polaroid models on hand so trying to decide wich conversion will fit me best.
@@MrLennart1976 The 600se instax wide back has less of this problem, as the viewfinder actually sticks out toward you and over the instant back. My 110 instax wide conversion ends up pretty much like when you hold your lomograflok to the back of your 120.
Will this conversion work for a Polaroid Electric Eye 900?
Yes, just note during checkout which model you are purchasing the kit for. Thanks!
Amazinggggggf!
Does this work on Polaroid 600SE?
No, but I make one for that here: www.ebay.com/itm/133500367442
How does the shutter button work to throw the hammer with this transformation? Very interesting.
I make a plastic extender piece, but I prefer to just trip the shutter at the lens like other cameras.
Very cool! Is the film plane offset the same as the lomograflok back?
No, there is less of an offset with this, so I include that spacer. It is quite a bit skinnier!
Would this be able to fit on a Polaroid land camera 800?
Yes, it works great with the 800, just note it during checkout so I set you up with the correct lens stops!
Aaron is the man! Definitely will be getting mine in 2 months
Can I use this on a graflex speed graphics with graflex back?
This product is actually developed to make your Polaroid 110 act like a graflex 4x5, but if you already have a graflex, you would not need this product. Thanks!
Could you develop an Instax Wide back for the Graflex XL? That would be great. The 6x9 cm format of the camera then would be used completely. That would be the best Instant camera for me on earth! High quality body of the 70is from Rochester/USA rangefinder meetering for 3 Lenes, best Zeiss/Germany optics and a fast, modern big (original size) Instax film/Japan. ;-)
Yes, likely that will be one of my projects! I really love my xl!
This is awesome to see - I love your hacks and your kits, you seem really passionate about this stuff. I, like others in this comment section, have a pack film system I am looking to revive. I shoot on a Gx680, with Fuji Instant Back II. Obviously every system incurs new challenges, but seeing as you have more experience with this, I wanted to ask what your thoughts on this are! Perhaps cannibalizing a Instant back for the mount/film plane and then somehow attaching the Lomograflok to that! Hmm. As per usual keep up the good work!
I don't have experience with the gx680, but it sounds feasible. At some point, I will likely buy one and give it a go! Thank you !
Where is the link so I can buy one of these? I have an old camera that I would really like to be able to get out and use again.
Here is the link: www.ebay.com/itm/134839908328 Thanks!
This is so awesome. Also, the most random location for a video ha ha. It looks like you are being held captive in a basement and being forced to create awesome instant photography inventions.
No, I am not being held captive(help me!). I chose to set up and do my overview in the basement because I like it there(please go and get help!).
Ha ha, help is on the way.... and they are bringing a whole bag of instax film.
Hi Aaron! Super glad you made an adapter for this camera, I'm excited to try it out!!! I had a few questions: what's the purpose of the lens stop? Does it limit the full focusing range of the bellows at all? Additionally: how much extra or cutoff image is in the viewfinder compared to the final image, if using the Lomograflok? And last question, is it difficult to look through the viewfinder with the thickness of the adapter + Lomograflok? Thanks for your time 😁
Hi! I really enjoyed your video. I have the same mini portrait and am interested in purchasing the back you made and discussed around 08:00. Do you have tips on how to counter the overexposure on this type of film? I wanted to ask before purchasing, especially because I’m experiencing this with the ill-fitted back I currently own. Thanks in advance!
Depending on the limitations of the camera, you may need an nd filter or nd filter film. I found large sheets of nd filter film on amazon for less than 15 dollars, and you just cut them to shape!
Awesome video! How do you remove the hinge pin to uninstall the back cover?
I just remove the plastic top and bottom cap as best I can, then use something sharp and narrow like a push pin, and tap the pin out. Once about a quarter inch of the pin is accessible from the bottom, I grab it with needle nose pliars.
will the parts of a onestep+ work as well?
You don't have to supply the donor camera. Just order it, and all is included!
Hello 👋🏽 Are you selling the instax back for the camera separately? Or it comes together because you have to install on there I have a Polaroid passport camera, just needed the adapter for the instax film.
Yes, just the adapter. Not the camera. Thanks!
Just wanted to let you know that I love using your Polaroid back for the Mamiya universal press! I bought it from you awhile and it’s still going strong! Thanks for all the Lo-Fi backs you make. Definitely want the square or the Instax square next. Cheers and have a good one!
Wow- thank you for your kind words! That makes my day!
Hello! I've been trying to get my hands on a working 250, but for now I only have a working ProPack plastic camera. Do you think this could be adapted to work with it somehow or will you make another adapter for the plastic ones?
The challenge is that the propack plastic cameras don't have a variable front standard. I am working on it, but I haven't come up with a solution yet!
I just picked up my second i-1. Heading for my 3rd on eBay UK. There is a secondhand i-2 which I might get.
I think you will enjoy the I-2!

@@lofianddiy That new space will be awesome. I have a stand alone garage I did the same some years ago...a whole new space!
Seems like "organized chaos" so not that bad...but you can probably benefit from clearing things out gaining breathing room, less wires etc.. Good job.
Amazing! Do you have any photos of this setup? The only other camera I've seen modded for Graflok was the Polaroid 110. With your expertise in modding cameras, would you think it's possible to mod a Polaroid 600 SE?
Check out my ebay store(link above) and my youtube channel! I have lots of options for the 600se, including instax wide, square, mini, and I type, and that is just the instant backs. I also have 4x5 graflok and 2x3 graflok backs, and that is not even all of the backs I have for the wonderful 600se!
Fascinating to see your workspace! You certainly make use of every square centimeter!
Sadly, every inch has become dual-use!!
This is so cool! I just picked up a Polaroid ProPack- any chance you would make a convertor for those?
Sadly, the propack has a non-adjustable fixed plane front standard. It is one that I have not been able to build an update for. I will keep trying, though!
Hey! My english isn't great, so I'm just asking to make sure: is this the back you made for the mamiya press camera's? Should this work on the 203? Kind regards!
Actually, the 4x5 back is specifically designed for the 203 or 403. It uses the same lug connection as the 600se. The other backs that work with this were originally designed for the 600se. Hope this helps!
