Two Roaming Souls - Jake & Emily
United States
Приєднався 15 бер 2018
Hello World! We are Jake & Emily, the Two Roaming Souls. We traded in the comforts of a normal life for life on the road in our self-converted campervan. But in return, we get to spend all of our time traveling and working on our blog (tworoamingsouls.com). We love being outdoors and making videos about our travels, vanlife, hiking, camping, kayaking, and more. Thanks for watching!

Oregon is beautiful..we loved it. Portland...not so much...
What time of the year was this video made? We just got back and I wish I could go back. So much we missed but so much to do!!!
This footage is from two different trips, once in May and once in June.
There is a wild trail to get to the bottom Brandywine falls, that might be better
Hi Diana, thanks, we did learn about it. But it didnt sound like it was an appropriate thing to encourage others to seek out. We figured the highly adventurous and curious would find their way there inevitably.
@@tworoamingsouls Haha, I never been there either, but Highnote trail and Jeffre lake is on my bucket list. Will be driving there from Seattle. There is also a stunning trail called panorama ridge in the area, just too hard for me to attempt. You should check out it
Is the summit drivable for 4x4?
@@ADJSoundz when we went, there was a gate blocking off the road. But you can drive up to the gate and continue to hike from there which would cut off some time!
@@tworoamingsouls Ty for the tip, parking at the gate saved us a few steps
camped there last week. Amazing.
Yeah the fall is magical up there
We’ve just discovered your Channel and in our opinion, your presentation and video and editing quality highlighting your explorations is some of the very best here on UA-cam. As new subscribers, we look forward to viewing you previous episodes along with recent uploads. You guys are great ambassadors for the various attractions and areas featured. All the very best to you both Regards, Ken
Thanks so much for the kind words Ken! That means a lot. Hope you enjoy keeping up with our travels.
What about all the homeless are crowding up the beaches living in tents they’re all over the place out there answer me
That does not match our experience along Oregon’s beaches at all.
Top 10 things to do in Portland Oregon. #1 leave.
Love the teahouse! Not to mention the beauty of the lakes! Thanks for sharing.
Definitely a highlight of the summer
Lovely video. We really love oregon and Astoria is very beautiful
Thanks!
I grew up there
that panorama over the city is kickass
@@erichschroeter yah, it was a nice surprise for us too!
Dago Gulch is pronounced: "day-go" While fishing and hiking is done in this area in October there is a Chukar bird hunting season that lasts through November. Just recently my Dad had camped in this area over the last 50 years and it is a place where pictures do not do justice.
Ohh, thanks! Yeah the place has a powerful energy.
As someone who's lived here 10 years, you pronounced Yaquina correctly. It is Ya-qwinna, not Ya-keena. No one here says Ya-keena. But yes, you did mess up agate 😉
Hahaha, thanks for backing us up on Yaquina. the Agate one we probably could have got right.
That muddy side of Emerald Lake can get a lot worse than what it looked like when you were there so definitely second it is not a great choice for everyone.
Thanks, wasn’t sure if it was just after some rain, but sounds like it’s often like that over there.
It’s Will-aaa-mit, damnit! Think: Damnit, Janet from RHPS
Hey Jake and Emily! Thanks for paddling down the river with us! Looks like you guys had a great time and paddled in some good conditions. Appreciate the informative description of the river paddling experience :) Good luck on your future adventures. We hope to see you again!
Yes, always fun floating down the river in summer! Thanks for the great service!
What a well put together list! We are currently in Tofino for the month of September and you have nailed most of our recs too. Would have added in taking a yoga class at Mackenzie beach, the Florencia Bay and Half Moon Bay hike and not overlooking visiting the neighboring town of Ucluelet!
Thanks, glad you agree! We will note those others for the next time we visit. Definitely sad we ran out of time to visit Ucluelet.
Be careful Emily. I’m picking up some serious Brian Laundrie vibes.
#1 Washington park which is for me by far the best if not only good thing in Portland other things may include: blazers games, the airport, the waterfront ..
Great video, but please learn the pronunciations of things you're going to talk about. ✌️
leave
Go to Pips or Does or anywhere other than Voodoo
Who only averages one book a year? Even when I was more active outside and working I averaged at least 2 books a week
As a Bend local, y’all did a great job highlighting things to do in the area.
@@DrewKSM thanks! We always have a little imposter syndrome making videos about places we’ve only visited a few times. So thanks for the compliment! 😁
❤ this video about my home town. Especially....my favorite haunt as a child...Battery Russell....😊
holy shit thats such a beautiful landscape
Cool video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! 🙂
Amazing content! Thank you 😃 I’m taking my first trip to Tofino in a week. I live in the Vancouver area and booked a harbour seaplane to Tofino. This is one of the best videos I’ve seen while learning about what I can do. And yes, Tacofino rocks it! I can’t wait to visit the original food truck!😋
Thanks so much! Yah, trying to find that nice blend of helpful information but still making it fun and visually appealing! Have an amazing time in Tofino. I bet the seaplane ride will have unreal views of the area.
Lipstick on a pig. Portland has been turned into a leftist shit hole by communist democrats for several years now. I know because I lived there for the mass majority of my first 50 years of life starting in 1965. And it’s pronounced. Will-Lam-et. Get it right before you make a video painting Portland with colors it is not.
I lived in Portland for most of the first 50 years of my life. From 1965 until 2016. Portland used to be a very clean safe to live up until the communist Democrats took over the city and state and turned it into a Third World shit hole. Portland is now an expensive dirty and unsafe place to live. It’s very sad.
I lived in Portland for most of my first 50 years. Portland used to be a very safe clean place to live. But since Democrats have been running the state is a dirty unsafe place to live. That is if you live in East County. West County is not so bad I understand. But until the useful idiots of the Portland metro area decide to stop voting for degenerate Democrat leadership. nothing will change.
It’s beautiful
Thanks!
Thanks so much! We really appreciate it 🙂
Thankyou kindly for having a link to Google map locations. I was easily able to save them to my own Google maps. I'm a big planning ahead type of person so I'm super appreciative of this!!
Our goal is to be helpful (and hopefully entertaining), so we’re thrilled that you found the map useful!
Love the positive vibes
Thanks!
Great cinematography..love Florence!
Thank you 😊
guys, if you want to leave your "comfort zone" just visit every big city in the US. 🤣 don't have to come extra all the way to Vietnam
yuh-KEE-nuh not Yuh-quinna.
Fantastic video guys. Well explained.
Thanks so much! Hope you get to go on the trip!
I'm going to try several of your suggestions in three weeks. Can't wait.
Thanks! Hope it’s a fun time.
Californians screwed us over
You'd think you'd take 2 minutes and ask a few locals how to pronounce Willamette.
I grew up in Portland it is not a big city…
It is not a small city given its metro population. It is just slightly smaller in population than Seattle and SF. Keep in mind that the US has no mega cities, not even NY, NY. We are tiny by world standards.
Portland is not a big city!!!
I suppose it’s all a matter of perspective. From the remote towns we typically hang out around, a city of 600,000 people sure seems big.
I’ll travel on saturday to portland for first time, can you tell me about the best ramen, japanese or another restaurants where can I eat delicius? Thanks for help me
You feel the need to write that twice. Any particular reason?
@@pacmanc8103 Noticed that as well.
@@Meytravelerhello, I think we havent been to enough restaurants there to give good recommendations for that. Our apologies, hope you enjoy your time!
7:19 keep on basic b*tch'n
If you see someone holding a pink Voodoo box, you know they’re a tourist. Locals don’t eat that shite.
Welp, guilty I guess
Wow!! Amazing views. Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍24
Thank you so much
i camped infront of stumptown for a day but they sweeped me out to 114th st.. i dropped a stump off right infront of their door if u know what i mean (stinky)
Tofino looks amazing. Largest taco ever!! Great UA-cam!
Thanks Mom!
