Top player btw, loved the era with you , Osgood and Charlie Cooke 👍 - but also love the Micky Fillery, Tommy Langley era - class

as a spurs fan my old man told me osgood was te best number 9 in the country

Every good team has a balance of grafters and gifted players. You need both. Nigel Spackman and Keith Jones were nowhere near you two in terms of skill (technique) but i've seen them out numbered yet still dominate the midfield in many matches.

These podcasts are an education and shows us fans know nothing about the professional game of football, some great stories , what a charachter and great player , applies to both Mickey and Alan , what a different era 👍👍

I watched Frank play for Huddersfield Town He was amazing , but one thing about Bobby Moore , Bobby picked up the World Cup it hasn't happened since , Alan Hudson I saw Chelsea play the First match to be played on a Sunday At Stoke.

Stanley Bowles and Rodney Marsh played for Man City I met Stanley in a pub in Brentford , lovely bloke he was so down to earth, till I said Englands best manager was Joe Mercer and Stan looked me in the eyes and said , he let me go from Man City

How things might have been different, had Eddie McCreadie still been in charge for two more seasons. Shelito destroyed the team that Eddie had built, selling the best players.

Just sent this to CFC... I would like to ask if CFC has any plans to celebrate the life of the late John Dempsey, one of our stallwart players of the 1970’s. I ask as I am surprised that there has so far been no mention that he died recently, or a statement, on the club website. Usually, CFC is very quick to add notes and news concerning former players of the club.

I’ve been a Blues supporter since 1968, and for me the team around that era were top notch. My memory isn’t brilliant but i can still remember those teams of by heart. I was very upset when Hudson join Stoke, if fact I couldn’t believe it..

John was a very reliable defender I saw him play hundreds of time and he rarely made any mistakes RIP John

Much underrated player in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Loved to watch him play from the Shed. God bless John.

My Mum worked with john at springwood day centre edgware for disabled youg people. One story they had a clapped out old minibus. John started a fundraiser to buy a newer one. At chelsea matthew harding heard about this and a week or so later matthaw drove a brand new minibus to springwood and presented john with the keys so sad to hear r.i.p john

I'm Man City...and Alan and John Dempsey were in the Chelsea team which broke my heart as a 13-year-old in 1971 when they beat us in the Cup-Winners' Cup semi-final when I really thought we were going to retain the trophy. All these years later, it is sad to look back now at those games and see all the players who have left us. I no longer have the same interest in the modern game, despite City's success in the last decade, but I love listening to the stories and memories from the old days!
