Alex comes across as a jerk in this interview. He threatens to beat up DLR if he ever sees him in public. He calls Monk's wife a fat pig. He begrudgingly acknowledges that Monk bolstered their merchandise sales but he gripes about the crackdown on bootlegged t-shirts. Al was too drunk to plan the tour but he complains about the tour expenses after the fact.

Thank you for this wonderful set of interviews with one of the best drummers on the globe: so thanks for sharing this awesome footage. It is very clear why they did not want to extend the contract with Noel Monk: I would never buy Monk's book because he always seemed too arrogant to me.And I can immagine what things were like for VH with him being the manager.Listening to Al telling about DLR: it is pretty much what Ed told in about the situation and you could almost touch Ed's relief when he left the band and Sammy took his place.Al said something about the difference between their music taste : he liked Def Leppard/Ozzie O. and of course he did, instead of DLR who likes Fred Astaire and it made me laugh out loud because he could not find better words to explain their differences 😂As said before, it was a lovely series of interviews with a lot of information ❤

Thank you for posting this interview, it is awesome footage. Very nice to listen to one of the best drummers talking. In this interview he talks about DLR who screwed Ed's girlfriend and I know this is very true: Roth never mentioned it, but back in time it was a reason why Ed felt betrayed. Listening to this interview you know Al's words are the only ones you can trust. I cannot wait to read the book of this EXIT BOHEMIAN😊

I can see both sides. Mike and Al never had the pressure of having to write music or lyrics, yet still got equal cut of the money. That had to grate on Ed and Dave after awhile. Of course Al had a free pass being Ed's brother. So that left Mike as the odd man out.

Reading this part in the book right now, where Ed walks in and starts disassembling Steve's Strat. So hilarious and just so Edward. Fun to read it, then actually listen to it as well. Gawd dang Steve, you were exalted and extremely lucky and also blessed to have experienced this with Ed in the beginning times. He chose you to speak with. You were in the presence of a God. Wow.

The thing about the tremolo on the strats that come with them the 6 screw, if you set them up right they don't go out of tune. I have a Squier Affinity that I put a brass Block in and a brass nut some hot pickups a switch to make a 7-way instead of a 5-way and that puppy does not go out of tune. it plays great all the time set it down pick it up the next day still in tune.
