Funny story 48 years ago Buddy stalled his bike on way to school..kickstarted it, and bell bottom pants went over kick lever..he fell to the right! pants prevented his leg to save it! fell over and broke F brake lever & mirror 2 bus full of kids laughed at him for a week! Tuck those shoelaces in too my gearshifter has caught em and almost dropped my KLX 20sm AND my KRT Ninja 500! Be smart!

What mic/setup are you using?

You're learning and it's good! You really want right foot down and here's why. Keep your right foot on the ground, and keep your left foot on the shift peg and in Neutral. Some lights are really long and in Neutral you don't have to keep the clutch in. You can relax, stretch your back, adjust mirrors, phone, helmet etc. When the light changes, clutch in, press down to shift to 1st, and since your left foot is already there on the peg ready to shift, everything happens in about 1 second. Try it. You'll see it works!

Man down. Try going to the gym and gain some strength....it will help with the slow turns. Plus it looked like you were going too slow while turning. Regardless you should be comfortable doing both left and right u-turns...Keep it up

Be careful with those Cali rolls... cops generally give bikes the benefit of the doubt, but get comfortable stopping with one foot down and full stops. Those stop sign tickets are not cheap!

Probably one of the scariest moments of my life... going on the road with my first bike. Glad to see you're safe and honest in your emotions! It is flashing because its before it's first service so its restricted for RPMs so you do not bomb the engine. Don't be afraid to amp your revs! Being in a high gear is harder to get the low end torque you need driving on city streets. As they say, its a motorcycle! It enjoys being in higher revs!

Hey man, I just ordered one in black, non se version but bought the original sliders for this exact reason. I actually fell of a nc750 because I was learning to counter steer and whiskey throttled it a bit then slammed on the front brake. Had my instructor as a backpack and he fell too. (a week later the dude got into a crash with another student and screwed up his leg for the year...) Happens to everyone, you are doing great. Next time... Press the rear brake and then the clutch. Just press it continuously, never slam it. On the other hand, trust me, I have the trauma now... You will never do that again in that situation 😅 I had four and managed to do it safely every time after I kissed the pavement.
