    Lifestyle, not a diet. The cows eat the grass, I eat the cows, eggs, bacon, butter...It is a very simple way of life that simply heals your body, and dare I say mind. It increases energy, and strengthens your bones. Carnivore is a proper human way of eating

    It's a bit misleading and a bit of a 'poke' to say "now we see a lot of the carnivores saying we're going to include a lot of fruit." A few people in the carnicom have begun to discuss the pros and cons of eating small amounts of certain fruits. Some have added a bit, others not. Some feel that 'seasonal' eating of local fruit may be ok, others have tried it and found it triggers a desire for more sugar and carbs, so they don't. I'm 69 and switched to carnivore nine months ago. I haven't had this much energy, stamina and focus in thirty years. All kinds of 'minor' health issues that have been creeping up on me since I turned 60 have disappeared since I went carni. Things like blood pressure being a bit high, polyps, severe dry skin problems, lack of flexibility (I can sit in the cross-legged yogi position for the first time since my 30's now without PAIN!), minor bloating, digestive problems, and more. I'm not an evangelist for carnivore and I'll never tell someone how to eat, live or love. Decisions and choices as significant as these should come mostly from within, with a little help from your friends. Cheers and EAT THE BACON!

    • @DrMarcBubbs
      @DrMarcBubbs 27 днів тому

      At the end of the day, ensuring more micro-nutrition from fruits and veggies is going to be a good thing. A major group of people who benefit from carnivore are those with gut and skin conditions... so these folks just need to be a little more cautious with bringing certain foods back into their regime.

    • @gregpastic6910
      @gregpastic6910 27 днів тому

      @@DrMarcBubbs You may be right, but more research is needed to determine if those who eat only animal products are lacking in specific essential nutrients. There are so many variables that come into play. Eating animal products is a simple choice. Adding back fruits and veggies is complicated. It could take someone years to determine which fruits and which veggies they can eat without causing issues. How much do I eat? How often can I eat them? Can I tolerate high-oxalate fruits and greens? Which ones do I avoid? Can I handle only low sugar fruits or can I eat any of them? Can I eat them in small quantities every day all year? Or should I follow the 'seasonal' idea? I'm fortunate to have apples, pears, plums, blueberries, blackberries and figs in my garden. I'll eat small amounts as they ripen, that's it. The rest I give away. I also have large veggie garden beds that have been empty this past year, except for my garlic beds! Thank you DrBubbs for engaging in these discussions and being open to consider personal stories and anecdotal evidence as having validity. Cheers and EAT THE BACON!

    I wish this video had continued longer. I was 6 weeks eating carnivore and was not feeling optimal. I was adding a lot of salt to my food but just a little to my drinking water. My blood pressure went from had always been 120/80 to 90/60. I was feeling light headed and lots of low grade headaches. Now I add a full teaspoon of salt to my drinking water at LEAST twice a day and doing much better. I also supplement with potassium.

    I find it funny that “doctor” Jake mey who is supposed to be a nutritionist has zero knowledge about what is exactly in food. Has zero knowledge about how man evolved and what we ate for a million years. This is just more evidence of the pathetic shape our medical system is in. Basically anyone can be a doctor and they can spout off nonsense because the are sure that paper degree means something.

      @@DrMarcBubbs you are kidding right? Do you not listen to your own videos? He has been strictly book trained in a very narrow field of nutrition. And a massively flawed field I might add. This is why I mentioned he has zero botanical knowledge and the way he speaks about everything being antithetical to his training shows all of us he has not done any research outside of his narrow field. And he speaks as if you knows everything which reminds me of the Krueger Dunning effect. I wouldn’t let this guy feed my dog.

    So many thoughts…. A carnivore diet means no ultra processed food, no added sugars, seed oils, gluten, and anti nutrients such as oxalates, phytates, and lectins. Removing those things alone is a vast improvement. But carnivore also adds back the most nutritionally dense bioavailable foods at a lower calorie level. Eggs and beef (and other animal foods) have the most bioavailable nutrients, protein, and fat - all things we’ve told for decades not to eat. Yet a lot of people are deficient in iron, B12, fat soluble vitamins, and develop diabetes, osteoporosis and sarcopenia. Carnivore also corrects the balance of hunger hormones. Removing all the ultra processed crap and eating fatty rich foods means leptin kicks in and satiety comes back. And grehlin activates when we’re hungry but it’s not an insatiable monster that’s never satisfied and drives us to overeat. I’ve been following the carnivore diet for about 6 months now. I’ve lost 34 lbs and my bloodwork is best it’s ever been. I’ve also come off Zoloft and Adderall and have much better mental clarity, lost visceral fat without even exercising (now I am). Here’s a typical day coming in at 1147 calories, 91 grams protein, 4 grams carbs, 81 grams fat: Breakfast: - 3 pasture raised eggs with 7 slices of pepperoni - 6 slices of bacon Snack: - 1 slice of mozzarella Dinner: - 7 oz of beef chuck roast Yes, it goes against all the nutritional guidance we’ve been given. But where has the guidance brought us? Why should we continue following advice that is clearly flawed? If you dig just a little bit into the nutritional guidance you’ll find there is no science behind it. None. It’s mostly food industry manipulation and the medical community not asking enough questions. I’m referring here to the sugar industry bribing Harvard professors to declare sugar was harmless and point the finger at fat instead. Now we have this ridiculous food pyramid and most of the guidance about foods effect on cholesterol (and cholesterol in general) has been reversed but the guidance hasn’t changed.

    What are "Heart health markers"? Would cholesterol be one of them? It will probably be another 50 years before "We" firgure out what cholesterol's real role is and how much is optimal. "We don't live for one year, we live a lot longer than that" What's interesting to me is how biased they sound when talking about that. If people are getting sick and then all of them see improvement in their conditions, and losing weight to boot, after going carnivoure, maybe we should be thinking what is it about carnimore that's helping people, in such a short time, and why didn't they improve after years of trying pytochemicals and other stuff provided by plants, instead of thinking, and implying, that somehow carnivore is unhealthy if used long term. I tried going plant based for years and never got the weight loss that I was looking for so I'm going to try carnivore for at least 2 years and see what happens. I'm tired of waiting for scientists to come up with answers because we will likely get the kind of phony results that ancel keys and his phony food pyramid, that he gave usback in the 1950's, that we are still suffering with to this very day. It has become obvious to me that we are on our own and can't rely on so called experts to explain what is the best way to eat.

    Doesn't really address why people have thr negative side effects? And doesnt talk about any other alternative forms that could work for those people.

    What is the ideal % of healthy fat for someone who has been on carnivore (80/20) who goes back to eating fruits vegetables and nuts along w high quality meat?

    • @DrMarcBubbs
      @DrMarcBubbs 5 місяців тому

      It really depends on your bodyweight and health status. Professional bodybuilders go as low as 0.7g/kg/day, athletes upwards of 1.0-1.6g/kg/day and low carb or keto upwards from there. Your bloodwork, genetics, body composition, etc. will dictate. Simple rule: if you're 'over-fat' (i.e. trying to lose weight) or have higher Tg levels then lower fat intake. If you're lean and blood biomarkers are good, you've got more wiggle room to adjust.

    I don't get why people hate veggies so much. I did full carnivore for 3 months and all I wanted was a couple veggies! In my case, i've found some veggies give me issues but I know not all veggies do.

      This is a great point... In my practice, I still see too many people following a carnivore dietary strategy who avoid vegetables 'just because' the rules imply this. If you can tolerate well, they health and longevity benefits are clear.

    What if you are a 250lbs man with high cholesterol ? How much salt should I take a day in a liter of water ?

      It really depends. If you're overweight or consume a higher processed/packaged food diet, you'll be retaining or getting significant amounts.

    Very insightful! Super interesting about performing Isometrics post-sport/ activity to assist with recovery. With that, is there a window of time to assist recovery? I understand Keith mentioned after sport/activity, however I perform Isometric leg ext iso's 24 hours after sport to help relax the tendon as it's usually a bit tender the day after sport. Would there still be benefit in performing Isometrics 24 hours after sport? Or is it more beneficial as a form of cool-down straight after the sport session?

      Thanks for listening. Incorporating as part of your pre-hab or prior to sport activity is a great way to support joint health.

    i have read the salt fix and the only thing that i don't understand is, what is better, to consume a regular refined iodized sea salt or to have a low salt diet? because not all of us have access to other types of salts. Is he talking about salt of any kind or just quality salt? If i only have access to that type of salt what is better, to consume it like he is saying or avoid it because it has not the best quality?

      Great question. Your general health status, body composition and activity levels are key drivers of how much salt you need. Table salt provides the sodium one would need to replaces loses from sweating (i.e. exercise), but sea salts and others provide a wider breadth of trace minerals.
