    Most routers and router bases have an arrow or indicator showing which direction HOWEVER: 1) It’s always very faint, hard to see, and never a solid color like white, red, or yellow, etc. Honestly boggles my mind as to why the manufacture makes it so difficult to see/not stand out. Especially, with saw dust flying out. 2) Sometimes it makes you stop and second guess yourself if the arrows mean “rotational direction” (of router bit itself) -OR- feed direction; furthermore question if it’s also meaning it via mounted or hand-held😂

    • @BuildwithMooney
      @BuildwithMooney 2 години тому

      Great point! I've owned several and never including this DeWalt have any directional arrows anywhere on the tool. Any safety manual with a router refers to the direction of the cutter only as clockwise or counterclockwise. Some visable arrows might be nice.

  • @nwembly
    @nwembly 4 години тому

    What makes it even more difficult and confusing is getting really used to and or using a router table for an extended period of time (and not hand-held). Then using a hand-held router

  • @flytomahawk2327
    @flytomahawk2327 5 годин тому

    So simple just poof a zero clearance table out of no where. Cut accordingly and you won't have to cut such a small piece down. Safety doesn't have to be first when your smart enough to plan your cuts.

      Polishing compound for the leather strop. Once you sharpen your chisel, all you really need is to run your chisel across the leather strop to maintain and keep the edge sharp. Hope this helped. Great question.

  • @dwaynerobinson7629

    No jointer??? (Jointers ate STUPIDLY expensive single use tools and out of reach for most) Out of luck??? Nope. Glue the edges Let it dry You've essentially created a wide board that needs ripped down to size. Cut the seam on the tablesaw or with a circular saw. Since you'll cut the glue seam. It will trim both boards the width of the saw blade and they'll fit remarkably. The IO method can also be done on the table saw by tilting the blade and following the rest of the procedure. Just remember to turn one side upside down for the secund cut, so make sure the face you want seen is cut correctly.
