Thank you for being such a good mom. Your precious little lady is loved.
@@SteveBlakes she is 😊
Silly question, are their seeds still viable after being in the dehydrator? 🤔
@@jonathan_r_lee92 i don’t know actually, never tried to plant them. They would just be used for flour. I use the Nepali leaves to start a new plant. if I was going to save seed to plant, I probably wouldn’t use the dehydrated ones, but as I said, I don’t use seeds for planting. I just use the leaves much faster.😊
This video is exactly what I needed to help me to work out how care for my large leggy Aloe Vera. So happy to have found this and love your chatty style. ❤

@@CherylFreeman-bf9rj your welcome 🤗
That is Aloe Arborescens. Not Aloe Vera.
I don’t think so
I was impressed with your double-pot method. No need to fill the outer pot with soil.
Right! And the Aloe root doesn’t need that much soil but it can get too heavy. So an extra bigger pot will help support the leaves. You can put stone or small rocks around it to act as a weight if desired.
@@Gods_creation.His_harvest - I like your rocks idea, too.

Thank you so much for the info mine was hanging over my side of my pot in dire need of a new home ! It’s thriving so much I have about 16 pups and can make two plants out of the mother plant.i was so worried it would die and I’ve had it for quite awhile it was one of my first plants so it’s important to me .

Thank you so much for this video! It's so helpful! I only wish I saw it sooner. Now, I'm trying to save my massive aloe from root rot because we moved to a new house that has almost no light and it takes forever for the soil to dry out.
@@elizabethwittenberg2896 glad it helped. In areas with low light you want to water much less.
A neighbor gave me some clippings from his plant today & i hope one day it is as big as yours!
If your neighbor gave you a napale leaf then they are easy to plant. You can plant by laying them flat on the ground and they will produce roots underneath or you can bury it sideways halfway in the ground, but I would wait and do it when the weather is appropriate or plant in a greenhouse until summer.
It has so much uses. I have some I bough from the farmers market and they are sour but I guess this can work too.
Hmm, possibly not ripe enough yet.
I found some aloe and I took them. I need to clean and cut them. Do I need to wait two days before planting them in soil?
@@Kim-b2p are these these leaves or the whole plant and do they have roots?

Could I use a juicer to do the same thing? Or is it better to do it your way for prickly pears?
@@WDWanda6 this juice does have a lot of mucilage. I don’t know if a juicer would work. I do have a juicer and I’ve never tried it. I don’t think it would work as well, but you can find out.

Just seen this video. I am from the Apache reservation out in Arizona and wanted to get back into this. This video really helped me understand the process or another process I can use to prepare; what we call Pre-reservation diet.
@@Skodenoutdoorsmen Ok! Glad it was helpful! ☺️
2024 you are doing it wrong you cut that long root and plant it in a biger container
The container size depends on the size of the plant. But Aloes grow well in smaller pots where the soil does not stay wet for a long time. You can put in larger pot but do not overwater. It just depends.
Well, now I know everything. I was afraid I'd damage mine, or that new roots will not grow if I break the stem. Nice to know I was worried over nothing. Suggestions? Nah, you won't get a single one. You explained everything.

I love eating the stems lol. Hope you come back to us!! Miss your videos!! Much love to you and your family. God Bless!!
I find that it works to cut the roots, then surround the plant with rocks under the soil. This suppports the plant and keeps the pot from tipping. I first found this works with Bromeliads but it would work with Aloe Vera.

thanks..I can plant seeds before dehydrating?
I suppose, I have never done that. The easiest and quickest way to start a new prickly pear cactus is to just plant one of the Naples leaves. You can just lay it on some worked mulch soil and it will grow. Do not have to bury it. Or you can stand the noodle upright and plant a few inches in the ground.
what do you use the aloe for have you made a how to video? thanks much
@@whitefamily4573 I use the gel internally, make a hair rinse, and freeze drying for powder to make creams & soap. I am just starting to freeze dry.

thank you for reply will look at it
Thank you for sharing this video. I wish I could show you my Aloe Vera. It was doing great, It's about 3 feet tall and now wants to tip over. It has a lot of pups and I have been using bamboo sticks to hold it in place as I'm afraid it will break. Your video is great and now I won't be afraid to transplant it along with the pups. Like you, I love Aloe Vera plants and have several in my house. I have transplanted a lot of the pups and given them away to people in our small village. Thanks again. God Bless you and your family.
You’re welcome I am glad I was helpful to you. You can also just cut the large one off leaving a long enough neck after removing whatever leaves you do not want on there and then replant the mother in a separate pot. Then let the pups grow in the original pot. Or you can remove all the pups and mother and repot. You still will have to remove leaves from the mother and if the main stem (neck) is not too long to the bottom where the roots are you may be able to keep roots but you can cut off roots and just replant in damp soil but not to wet. Be sure to leave a good 4-6 inches of main stem. If watched and watered occasionally when dry it should produce new roots.
Thank you sooo much . I watched you video just to know if blended seeds are safe to eat but i learned a lot more . Good work

Thank you for this! I have a big sucker I got from Lowe's and it's leaning now and has 3 pups that need re homed. Thank you for the education! I have to ask though, what's the purpose of the mesh vest?
@@GarbageMan2025 Glad is was helpful. The outfit I was wearing was actually a modest bathing suit, and I prefer to wear the mesh vest when I’m not swimming. It gives a more modest appearance in my opinion. ☺️

I have 3 huge ones! They are growing curved and bending to the side. Can I cut the root all the way up to the size I need to have them grow upwards again? Will it survive if I do that? They are just too big the stems are toooo long to turn and twist to to try and fit into new pot. Please help. How can I add pictures here?
@@angelt2379 Yes, remove the pot from the soil and brush off the dirt. Turn it upside down and start pinching and removing all of the lower leaves that you don’t want you can save the ones that have gel in it if you want to use those, but if they’re dried up, just throw them away then keep going until you finally have the leaves that will make it look right when you put it right side up. Then make sure you keep about a 5 inch stem and just cut it and then you can just place that stem in the dirt. Make sure the dirt is slightly moist, just keep it watered occasionally but let dry out some between waterings, and always make sure it drains completely and there’s no water sitting at the bottom. It should grow new roots.
@@Gods_creation.His_harvest I will try it. I don’t have no other choice. I wish I could post a picture. Thank you so much for your help.
