The 1993 MP4-8 was every bit as advanced as the FW14/FW15 if not more. Both used interlinked active suspension. The Mclaren was way down on HP compared to the williams but that wouldnt have made a difference in these conditions. Ow as for engines. 6 weeks after Donnington Mclaren had a better spec Ford engine than Benetton.

Senna didn't have what it took ether; Hill did dam good, for someone who was stepping into A hero that didn't deliver Shoes! Senna was washed up and he proved it with 3 starts 0 points 0 finishes.

He was always my favorite driver. he did well in everything he raced.

He was a 3 time world champion cheated by bad luck. But of a morning arsehole though! I think you have to be a bit selfish to be a winner.

Mansell was THE GOAT. His ability surpassed everyone else. His IQ was unmatched in all attributes - processing, problem solving, spatial awareness... More importantly, his ability to manage his ego and impulse showed how his opponents lack of the ability to manage this, to a lesser extent, could also be used to HIS advantage. The best F1AND cart racer that has ever lived.

Indeed Schumacher stuck in 5th gear. Yeah ok then , clever move to get the result required. But the result that was needed for the morale of everyone.

I remember reading an old Autosport magazine news bite about how Senna got pulled over for speeding on his way to the British Grand Prix. The cheeky officer who pulled him over said to him, “slow down, who do you think you are…Nigel Mansell?” Needless to say, Senna was not amused!

I aways wondered how he got his massive balls into such a small car, A proper legend who doesn't get the credit he deserves.

I remember Mansellmania well as a 5 year old kid in 1992. It was what got me into the sport in the first place.

every time Senna Got beat, he had a Excuse or the other guy cheated, He was the biggest Crybaby in F1! Take away the fact that the Mcclarin with Honda power was dominant, and Lauda and Prost had the Chassis set up great, Would Senna even won a single championship, then there was the fact that Prost scored the most points, but Senna won the title.

Senna's car was flawed that's what killed him. He was m%%ed .Williams were responsible for his death and should've been brought to justice!

The race I remember above every other at the time, and not only from the first full year I watched formula one as an 11-year old kid just about to start secondary school. Only the Imola round (due more because of Bergers crash than Sennas betrayal of Prost) and the Japanese and Australian races could rival for the eventfulness of that same year. Absolute kudos to you for rekindling this golden moment in motorsport history

Idk, could the team really have known the steering column would snap? I believe that’s what likely happened but the fact that we don’t really know is haunting. As great as Senna was a driver he was a better man, his death likely ended up saving lives. As religious as he was, i truly believe Senna would welcome death if it meant others would live. This is the man that stopped on the course to help a fellow driver get out of a crashed car. Senna was great, there is no doubt in my mind he represented the greatest of human qualities. Let there be life after death, I see my father again, we meet Senna as we watched him pass, together.
