I do see this a lot with beginners. They got the squat and initial lift, but then stop and push the tail. Watch their head just stop while they do an ollie. It’s very noticeable. I still catch myself doing it often. I’m trying to fix it

I've been teaching my nephew how to get better ollies. He's been doing them like this, but he doesn't have the control for it yet. His board rocks back and forth and goes all over the place. So I had him start just below the bolts to get his technique better. I told him once his ollies are looking controlled and leveled out to start moving his foot back to get more height. I told him more height will do nothing for him until he gets the motion and timing drilled into his brain. I always tell him: Less power, more technique. Watching your videos helps me to be able to help him easier. Thank you.

I love that this man found the 1 job that he was born to do and enjoy. 99 percent of people never find that in life. If the saying "love what you do and you never work a day in your life" was a person its him

I love the way that kid knew how to bail and just use the knee pads. As awesome this guy is at teaching, he’s also making sure the kids know how to fail properly. It’ll take failures before you succeed so it’s important to know how to do it safely. ❤

You're the best skate teacher ever man. I mean it. I grew up skating in between people being really good and people being SUPER good and never thought skating would get to the point it's at. This content is so wholesome.

Here's my tip for perfecting ollies: After understanding the basics of how an ollie works and what it's supposed to look like, find a fence about belly button height that you can hold on to and use it to perfect your technique. This way you won't have a fear of falling while you practice and you can also use the fence to lift your weight - that way you can focus solely on the "pop" with the back foot and the "slide up/push down" with your front foot. Even after perfecting an ollie on the move, down stairs etc, I still found this useful to practice getting height on my ollies In my prime (I'm 36yo now and haven't skated in 10+ years), I could ollie up (yes, up) a four-stair without much effort or worry of faceplanting, and even managed it on a few five-stairs, although it wasn't as clean. I also found this useful for kickflips, heelflips etc too! Basically, if you get the technique of an ollie so it becomes second nature, you can pretty much ollie as high as you can jump I'm not sure if anyone will see this lol, but if you do, give it a try. I hope it helps someone out there! ✌️

As you skate longer and practice nose manuals they will become easier than regular manuals! I know this was a big shocker to me when I discovered that as well! I can hold a stationary nose manual way longer than a regular manual. But of course doing flip in tricks is easier into a normal manual.

I just recently figured out the reason I’ve had such a hard time skating and it’s cause I’m hypermobile which can really be dangerous so unfortunately I had to stop and I’m so sad about it but happy because I’m safer and not getting upset about no progression
