"I thought I had it and then I thought I was going to die within a one half second from each other" Mitchie always on point with the words. Can't explain that feeling any better than how bail #12 shows it and his immediate reaction/reflection to it. I really hope it's clear to others the importance of him showing this battle in lieu of coaching this trick to someone else. From this video + his other content, Mitchie is demonstrating how he coaches himself through a battle, humanizing himself (still a monster) along the way. My favorite video to date as someone who has the same mentality/approach.
Hahaha i forgot about that line. That’s skating in a nutshell. I’m happy you like the video, were gonna do more! And with this reception were gonna take a bit of this editing style and apply it to the tutorials. (In good faith to not take away from the actual tutorial)
Thankyou for going trough the struggles for our pleasure you have become my inspiration to keep learning vert and pushing myself on top of being my favorite skater much love and please keep up the amazing content
Thank you! I’m happy you guys like this one, it’s a new style of content for us so it was a bit nerve racking to throw up there. The feedback is much appreciated and there’s more on the way!
i'm sorry but watching the self talk is the funniest ever. We all know that hardtalk ww have with ourselves gets mad af, i've been laughing my arse off the whole video as its kind of how I negotiate shit with myself. Thanks Mitchie!
That’s good to hear. I feel like it’s a good change. There is something nice about the raw feel so far, but I think combining the two styles for a lot of the tutorials will do us well in the long run
I’m really liking the content. As a skateboarder I find it fascinating, but I think you could keep making tweaks so it appeals to a broader audience. I’m not sure what that would entail, but I think it has something to do with a compelling hook, quickly catching up a skateboard naive audience on what is happening, higher stakes, and faster pace, and I think the story of overcoming a challenge would go far beyond skateboarding. Keep it up. This is some great stuff.
That’s great advice. Were just reaching a stage that we can actually put a budget into the filmmaking process and make the editing better. I’m right there with you and i will take your advice big time on that
Mitchie i need that long format Backside 180 video 🙏🏽 i can land them but i really want to be in control of them, when i saw your youtube short i was in awe of how effortlessly you do 180s
Thank you! We will do long form tutorials here for free always but if you want something right now join our Patreon for 10$! Patreon.com/skateiq we have the whole 180 course there and also 170+ tutorials
I don't know but it is such a pleasure watching you skate! You've got that skate 3 flow whatever trick you would try, I'm not even kidding. Just imagine being a video maker and only having to film this guy skate, what more could you ask for?? Btw Mitchie, what board is that ? been looking for that exact one for a long time, I just love the colours on it! keep up the good work you're amazing!
We need more of these types of videos. So sick to watch you figure something out and talk through it. As well as a vlog style type of video commentary as well
maybe you end up further out when you flip your board because you have to be lighter on your front foot to let it flip, so it points back towards the flat bottom? Idk I don't skate vert but that's why people credit card learning new tricks on flat so seems like the same principle lol
Yeah youre right in theory, and if i had perfect control id be able to actually test it over and over but its still a little all over the place. The big problem when i try to do that is it over rotates. So im not sure if i was doing what i meant to cause its a new trick but i had to feel like i was leaving my front foot completely still and it was still spinning more than enough
Heyyyy!!! I feel happy to see it's hard for you too😂, the différence to me it's not 1h35....but more one month and half😂....and for a simple trick, thanks to Sow us that vidéo👍
Such a big fan of your content Mitchie. One thing that I notice - your SKATEiQ brand does not use your Mitchie Brusco the first (only?) person to do a 1260 on a skateboard and also X Games Vert and Big Air Gold medalist, brand. In other words, elite level, unbelievably good, wish I could skate one tenth as good as Mitchie, kinda stuff. My guess is you're too humble for that. Forget that. This is YT where nobodies build themselves into somebodies by generating a brand built on self-promotion. You're a somebody already. Yet visiting your YT page or SKATEiQ page shows no hint of the talent and accomplishment behind it all. There's no trumpeting about how amazing you are on a skateboard, which is a real shame. So please, do this one person a huge favour, and promote YOU with everything you do. There's no shame in that. There's no 'selling out' in that, it's just common sense. Please.
I honestly like the pacing but i dont like the negative "fail" parts on the missed attempts - they don't feel like a fail at all. Each step you learned feels like a step forward and I think the editing should compliment that

Editing style update will definitely attract more of the YT crowd but you clearly retain your style and passion. All for it@@Skateiq
@@yocoachfred9932 We’re gonna have to keep up with the times to survive here on UA-cam but the content will always provide as much value as possible

Really good editing/artistic direction. (Nice trick too!)
Thank you!
the mr beast editing might be the right move for your youtube

I love how you break this down. Super analytical.
Meanwhile I'm trying to learn how to kickflip in my living room
Me struggling with backside 180s on flat. Why is frontside so much easier…
I just squealed out loud when you finally got it! I am supposed to be cooking dinner but keep stopping every 20seconds!😂
I try to at least do something new every session and won’t stop until I roll away and it’s been working like a charm
keep that up as long as you can, i’ve been skating for about 20 years and it gets exponentially harder as the years go by
Then you end up at nollie ally oop big heel lip on vert
Seriously, do one great thing a day. Relative to your own skill level. It’s all you need
Beast.
Thank you!
Sick!!! You are a legend Bro!
Thank you!
I love where your front foot is when you are coming out of the backside air.
Sneaky lil foot placement

You must suffer with me in the journey
@@Skateiq have mercy
Good shit 👊💯
Great❤
🤣You're much happier landing this trick compared to the 1st 1260
Yeah facts 1260 had too much pressure and it’s too scary
How big is this ramp? 12ft?
I think 13.5?
My War with commentary.
That’s what I wrote on the white board when we were coming up with ideas
I whatching in 0.75 seg. Because is too fast 😅
Haha sorry. UA-cam wants it fast we give it to them fast
Now do it again!
Oh man. YOure right though

Two to make it true ?
yo, that's cool~

Great to see that the pros at this level go through same exact process that we do. Thx for everything you do and for keeping it real.

Yeah no problem. Of course we go through it. Learning something is hard in any field at any point , it’s like that for everyone
