I'm buying a new ISO 700c tomorrow your review is very helpful thank you
That 700 can be backfitted with a suspension seat platform.
@thastinger345 I asked about it but it cost $800.00 for a different seat. 🙃😏
Got a new 800 the other day and it’s terrific. Only complaint I have is the small gas tank. My 2013 Toro 5000 has a 10 gallon tank (ish) and I can go all day.
Question, ive been doing some research on these old ford tractors, we’ve always been a farm all family but my grandfather on my mothers side had an 801 power master, before he passed a few years ago he had to sell it and I would like to buy and restore one for myself but im left confused bc when these tractors came out they were labeled 841-851-861 ect… and so many people are calling the 801 an 841 or 851 and 861 ect… like I said never had experience with fords so I just don’t understand the whole premise behind it or why any input would be appreciated thanks
Thank you ! Getting ready to buy an 800 !!!! I appreciate your video !
Why does it say 801 but the title says 861
According to my research it's a 801 series tractor and not all of them say the exact model number on the hood. The exact model number is on the block. Just how some of them were I guess. 🙃🤷♂️
I am wondering if it works without opening the bleeder. Maybe just linger?
Great job. Congratulations ❤️
"Might wanna use a funnel, next time." Lol
I did. 🙃😁🤣
Those 800 series tractors are nice old tractors boy she purrs like a kitten!!
maybe e put a rag under the filter to get some of that oil
I did the next time. 😁 It worked much better. Always learning
What size in the vent plug bolt? And how did you access it? Having a terrible time. Have another mower with the same 3400 hydros and it's much easier. But the hose and plug are flipped on the other mower. So much easier that way.
I don't remember what size it was but it was on top of the hydro pump. It's hard to get at.
Your videos are amazing! If you like farming or harvesting videos, I look forward to having you visit my channel to have relaxing moments together!
Good video and keep up the good work . Great to see a practical approach to restoring a classic Ford that is getting used - thanks for mentioning the parts suppliers.
You should still fix it up like new to honor your dad! Ticket to tractor shows, show it off!
Love it!!!!!
What kind of oil again?
20w-50 motor oil is what is recommended. I use Kinetix brand oil.
How often do you lube the heim joints? Do you pressure wash your desk?
Not sure what you're talking about. I don't pressure wash them.
The joints that are supposed to be lubed. You dont pressure w ash your deck?
@@311hitwall I lube all grease surts a few times a year and the deck spindles even more than that. I clean the deck out at the end of the mowing day when the grass is still wet and I don't wash either of my zero turns because I use them all the time. No point to it for me.
nice- good idea
Frankly I’d be alarmed if my hydro oil came out looking black like diesel engine oil. Yikes. Is that normal on those integrated units?
Yes....that's normal I guess. That's what the shop guys told me. They all look like that. 🤷♂️
I have a 1959 model are they good tractors
My dad had a ‘57 800. He had the same push button start on it next to the key
What kind of filter?
I got the filters from the dealer. They can get you the ones you need.
My quick hitch wouldn’t work with my brush hog, it only has plumbing black iron plumbing fittings. I wouldn’t expect any quick hitch to be set up for plumbing fittings. How about replacing the fitting with a proper bolt or pin.

More on this tractor please!
Carb has fuel metering adjustment screw back it out half round no longer need choke at idle. Engine that model was 172 cubic inch. Judging from position of clutch pedal indicates live p.t.o.
Yes...it's a 172 cubic inch and has live pto. Check out my updated video on it. I replaced a few things!
I always liked that 5-speed transmission net engine is a 134 cubic inch
Thanks so much for this video...had no idea there were filters in the hydraulics!
I know what you mean about the seat sitting too far back. Mine's the same way so I zip tied a block of wood about an inch and a quarter thick on the cross member the seat sits on. That sits the seat up just right and the zip ties have lasted several years so no worries about them holding up. I really liked the mowers up until recently. It runs rough and back fires intermittently. I've had my local Ferris dealer look at it. They've rebuilt the carburettor and checked other things and $400.00 later it still does. It's only got a little over 500 hrs on it. Guess I have to look for another mechanic.
I bolted a 2×4 under the seat on mine. 😆 it works great!! That's always frustrating!
What is the tag number on the carb? Looks like mine. Im having trouble finding the right kit for it. Thanks
TXS769 Is the number on this one.
Napa sells all the kits for them
WHERE DO YOU CHECK AND REFILL THE POWER STEERING FLUID ?
Aaron thanks for the video, as the manual isn't worth the paper it's printed on. The only thing I would recommend, is using a ratcheting wrench on the bleeder nut. I just finished my fluid change after watching your video. Thanks again!
Thanks!! Yeah that would definitely work better! 🙂
@@aaronstractorstuff7521 Well, I should have explained why (brain fart) I put my finger through the end of the wrench so I could find the dang head of that plug since you can't see it.
@Bruce Smith exactly! You can't really see the stupid thing! Lol!! That's why I put the video on here because I couldn't find any myself so I talked to a mechanic and he showed me how to do it but I'm not sure if I did it exactly like they do but it worked!! 🤷♂️
She’s coming together rather nicely Aaron. I am going to get going on my 9N Ford here pretty soon. Full watch Aaron
It's been a fun but also pretty frustrating project but worth it.!! I think about my grandpa a lot. He took my brother and I for wagon rides with that tractor. It's the only tractor he ever bought brand new in 1960. 63 years ago!! 🙂 Thanks Gary.
I just bought a new Is700z (2022) All of the complaints I have read about seem to have been fixed in the newer models. More deck wheels, bigger tires front and rear. Mine has the suspension seat. I use the seat belt and the roll bar. Last summer I rolled my JD front deck mower. It is a bad feeling for your blades to be pointing up and the roll bar is stuck in the mud. I used mine for the second time today, still getting the hang of this ZTR but it does a great job, rides great and after major back surgery 20 years ago I am very mindful of machine seats and how they ride. The dealer did not put the grease zerks in the front spindles, but reading the manual told me what to check and what should have been done. Mowed once and had a flat tire, but that comes from mowing my place.
Cool!! I've looked at the newer ones and noticed the upgrades. 👍
The pump cost around 6.00 dollars.
If you buy the Hydro-Gear tyranny oil change kit, it comes with the oil, filters, a vent plug adapter, the hose and a pump that screws into you oil bottle so you can pump the oil in through the vent plug hole.
I bought a gallon bucket pump and I just pump it into the vent plugs. It's a lot faster.
hello aaron's my ferris turns on fine, but when i try to turn on the blades,it shuts off, could you help me?
There is a safety switch connected to your PTO and one under the seat. Sometimes one of them is bad and can cause that but I'm not a mechanic to know for sure but you could look into that. 🤷♂️
I have a 62 801, 4x4 version. Looking to convert it to 12 volts.
Cool!!
Good video. I use a roll of silicone mat about 3 feet long and curl it up long ways and run it through the hole you put your pipe in. That way I can still open the drain. I can also curl it up under the filter and catch most of it. I also bought a roll of oil absorbent mat that I put under that. And I put a large flat metal catch pan under the mower to catch anything that spills. A friend who is a co-owner of outdoor equipment sales and service place told me he puts the oil mat down and then he takes a roll of lead flashing, unrolls it and he can shape it up and around the filter and down into a drain pan. He cleans it off when he is done and the rolls it back up for the next one. He has been using the same roll for almost 10 years. They also make a roll of formable plastic that you can form around things put I haven’t found it yet. I have been thinking about getting one of those hand or pneumatic fluid pumps off of Amazon from OEM-Tools. That would get most of the oil, then drain it. www.amazon.com/OEMTOOLS-24937-Pneumatic-Manual-Extractor/dp/B07N7YV5GN/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=G57SPCX7B5WX&keywords=oem+tools+pneumatic+fluid+extractor&qid=1679989796&sprefix=oem+tools+pneumatic+%2Caps%2C135&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A21R0IME9NG8SJ&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzNFYyWE5LWlhMUTJJJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTg2ODkzTjVEU04zTkVDQ1M1JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAzNTIyODYzMEg0WUtWUElIUUJKJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
TrueDat Brother 👍 nothing old I had to cut grind to fit 💪 😤
How often do you change it
Around every 400 hrs. That's what the manual says too.
I would idle it down. Don't need that much hydraulic flow to do it. And not so heavy-handed on the joystick... I see you missed the mark a couple times... Would have went smoother slower.. just friendly advice 👍
That's right but that's not why I was missing it. It wasn't lined up right. I've since this gotten even better.
Pat's quick hitch best option.. works on any implement.. old or new
Yes PATs is a much more adaptable.
great idea. I've considered cutting the hose in half and adding a new longer section but your idea may be the way I go. I have some flexible matts made for directing oil during changes so I can prob use that in place of a tube.
Upper hole is John Deere spec, lower hole is SAE CAT 1 spacing. JD always had to be different.
I got my father's '55 Ferguson running year before last. I warned the tractor if it gave me any troubles I'd convert it from 6v-pos to 12v-neg ground and I ended up converting it. The 12v spins the starter much more intensely and the tractor snaps right to life now where under 6v it was always sluggish and you had to do your 'will it start up or will I need to get the charger' prayer. I picked up an AC WD last winter, still factory 6v-pos ground but I'm anticipating converting that to 12v-neg this summer. Advantage with 12v-neg is you can buy inexpensive LED light assemblies that give much more illumination than the tractor ever had. Well, this tractor never had the front lights that I ever saw, wiped off working along tree-lines I'm sure. I mounted my LEDs back just ahead of the sides of the dashboard so they light both ahead of the tractor and the engine plus are much more protected.
Cool!! I'd always have a plan b because I never knew for sure if the tractor would start. 🤣 It's all torn apart again to fix gas and power steering leaks. Lol. Waiting on parts now but hopefully have it back together pretty soon. 🤞
What's not to like....I love mine...little Sherman tank
Exactly!
That's a good tractor sir.
Looks nice. I would rather work on old tractors then today's cars.
Definitely!!
It started like a charm, it’s nice you got it working again. Great job Aaron and have a nice weekend 🙋🏼♂️🙂👍🏻
