  • In this video, we explore Pasar Seni, or Central Market, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, highlighting its rich history and transformation into a vibrant shopping destination. Originally established in 1888 as a wet market, it has evolved into an upmarket complex featuring Pasar Besar and a lively food court. Since my last visit in 2012, the market has become fully air-conditioned and better organized, enhancing the shopping experience, I enjoyed delicious roasted duck with rice at Nasi Ayan dan Itik Pak Lai and mi kolok kosong at Dapur Sarawak. The nostalgic atmosphere remains upstairs, with tightly packed stores selling traditional batik and local delicacies. We also visited nearby Petaling Street, known for its cheap knockoffs and street food, which retains its charms despite being less crowded than before.
