Looks like a complete transformation! I have worked in that area for over 10 years since 1982 and I have not been there for over 12 years now. I have walked and shopped in the streets of Chinatown, seen movies in Rex Cinema, ate that apam balik, bought pastries from Foong Wong and Bun Chun, ate at the stalls in the back lanes of Chinatown. Thanks for showing the new Chinatown, don’t know when I will have a chance to revisit and experience the all-new Chinatown.
This is the best content by far from C kology! It is true that we cannot afford to lose or erase the history and the heritage especially the beginning founding of the mighty Kuala Lumpur as we known today.
Thank you for making this excellent video. Brought back so many childhood memories. The porridge stall, wonton noodle stall, hokkien mee stall, and the longan drink stall were some of my favorite. I surely need to make a trip there the next time I go back to KL.

Hi CK. Thanks for your wonderful compilation of KL places of interest, and the food. I was born in Pudu and grew up and worked in KL in the 1960s-1990s. I live overseas now. I am glad to see the young architects have chosen to retain the historic elements of old KL and refurbished the buildings with heritage features intact. Kudos to those architects and interior designers. Thank you for your excellent work in researching the historical side of places and people in your videos. I really miss KL.
