Did you try the tests for your hip abductors? I find they're weak in most people with knee pain. I hope these exercises help you to feel better soon and thanks so much for watching! 👊🏼
Hi Doc, I managed the tests fine, however when I was doing the floor exercise with the band I felt the sore leg weaker than the other. So you’re spot on. I didn’t have the right band so I tied a knot in a regular band and it worked fine. Thank you for all your sessions including this super valuable one for my sore knee. Diana in Hong Kong 🇭🇰
Yes, my hip abductors are definitely weak! But Ive had patella reconstruction only on my right knee, and I need reconstruction on my left, too. Are these exercises still ok then?
Thats proof that you dont really pay for the service rather than the experience of the person giving you the service. If some dude off the street wouldve told you to do that you probably wouldnt believe him but since your PT has degrees and experience, you believe him.
You helped more in one video than the internet as a whole has done in over 9 weeks of my searching and trying different stretches and exercises for my hips. The explanations and video examples you do are PERFECT for those of us that have trouble understanding only spoken direction/drawn diagrams/written instructions. You got to the point and helped more than a month of driving 22 miles to my PT lady twice a week! Thank you!!
Thanks. You are absolutely spot on. I suffered decades of pain until I discovered the root cause. It's information that in an ideal world every child would learn so they never get knee pain in the first place, it's always a shame that we often only find the solution to problems after they cause harm.
Man this small video almost save my life… thank you from core of my heart for sharing this and putting it for humanity… my blessings and strong support for what you are doing… Just adding my few cents by being a small subscriber to this channel. Please keep on doing this…
just what the doc ordered. 64-year male frustrated with the inability to squat or lunge. thought it was my quads. This info makes me so happy. thanks my friend. great work!
My son has this problem. He has an instep. We tried to get him an appointment with a doctor for years. This channel really makes a difference to people's lives. Thank you.
I have outer knee pain that doesn't happen unless I'm walking or up for a long period of time, and I performed your test. The first time I immediately leaned over to the side and the second time I tried to have more control and I felt tension in the back of my thigh and very clearly saw my hip sink under the weight . I am overweight and working on strengthening my body to comfortably carry myself so thank you helping me identify what area needs strengthening. I already knew my back and core were where to start, but my hips I didn't think of as being a weak link to my knee issue, rather I thought my knee was causing my hip pain. Now I understand.
Appreciate these videos! I’m a longtime runner and I’ve had knee pain for years. After starting the 4 x 4 x 48 challenge last week after 28 miles I had to quit and have been pretty immobile and in intense pain since. These are helping.
This is great! I'm nearly 40 and experienced knee pain for the first time this year. The lunges show that both knees/hips are not great. Lots of wobbles, early in the move. Thanks heaps!
I tried supporting my legs and body using only my feet and arm on that last exercise side plank, cracks sound were all over my body. I'm amazed how you keep that position straight without any struggle
I have unbearable knee pain with crackling sounds. I started exercising with you today. I felt terrible pain during exercise. I hope to get better through it.

I can't thank you enough I'm an 18 year old that was starting to bodybuild and about 2 years ago I tore my shoulder tendon off the bone and for some reason I wasn't diagnosed properly I was only 16 at the time and was in constant pain long story short after a year and a half of countless sports physio appointments I finally got an mri now im only just getting surgery for it and 7 months ago both of my knees where in quite alot of pain even to walk and stand and this fingers crossed is gonna help me thanks again so much!!!
I failed both tests. I play a lot of sports like basketball, football and American football and my ankles have hurt for a long time but recently my hips and knees started aching. Thanks for the advice.
I'm officially subscribed. I fractured my proximal fibula 3 years ago by getting knocked over by a wave at the beach. It was unidentifiable on an x-ray so it went undiagnosed for about 2 weeks as I walked around in pain. I went through a year of PT and a surgery, a meniscal tear, hip, back pain. The pain comes back intermittently because I forget that I will be forever fighting hip/quad weakness (they told me this during PT. They too were amazing). I just forget and I've been in so much pain lately and don't have the time to spend going to PT 2-3 hours a week, I just need these videos! Thank you sooo much!!!!
I recently changed jobs from almost 20 years of phyiscal work on my feet all day to sitting at a computer all day, and within a few months had serve knee pain and was having trouble getting up off a chair/toliet etc.. I found these exercises and the other from your simliar videos and did them plus some swimming and a week was fine again.
I'm going to try this thankyou I've been hurting bad since Dec I'm going to the Dr I've been putting it of I've have had two back surgery in my life God bless 🙌 🙏 😌
I just came from TRIA orthopedic and they discovered this exact problem. It’s always good to go see a doctor because it could be other issues besides this one.
Thank you, I have been having knee pain for months and my chiropractor hasn't told me how to fix it and nor did his adjustment helped me out. I will work on these for sure. Did the test, my right hip was leaning so right it was crazy(my right knee is my issue)
Wow. Just trying to fix a hurt knee (that's been getting worse), and I tried the side lying hip abduction. That is one serious exercise - I can feel it! I hope it's helping!
As an assistant karate coach at my club I've found this video very helpful. Most people have a hard time doing side, round, and hook kicks because they have weak gluteus medius muscles.
Hi! I’m about to be dismissed from PT for my knees, hamstrings and hips. I really feel all my exercises. It’s a workout! (.Im not doing any of these above.). My left knee started hurting when our 92 lb lab saw a squirrel and I didn’t let go of the leash. My doc was really casual about and said take Aleve. Two years later, I still can’t go for walks, even grocery shopping is rough. I skate/slide back to my car, sometimes leaving the cart of food with an employee saying, “I’ve gotta go.” Finally got firm with my PA and said, “Something is wrong/torn, I want exrays and I want to see an orthopedic. I was convinced to try injections. That helped some with my stage 2 arthritis, but still, something is wrong with my left knee, area BEHIND my left knee, rt hip. I still can’t walk much at all, I do ice, PT twice a week. I joined the Y and can’t walk on treadmill. Too painful. The PT said, don’t do it. Ride the recumbent bike. I “kneed” help! Do I demand an MRI? I really want to go for 4 mile walks someday! I’m 62. Yes, left knee grinds and pops, sometimes gives out. Thanks!!!

My leg feels good after this, i dont even know if it has to do with the ocasional knee pain that i have but either way it feels nice and hopefully will help me perform well in my table tennis tournament tomorrow
Thank you for these videos! So helpful. I had gone through 5 weeks of PT for knee pain and it worked. Now I can use these videos to keep up with the exercises!
You provide some great tips. The last two were a bit too challenging now, but the earlier ones were great. If there's soreness in the knee, naturally you focus on the knee; not the hips. Is there a healthier side to sleep on?
Thank you so much! I think you just saved me some time and money. Just did the first exercise and I already notice that, yup, I got some lazy hip abductors.
I really appreciated the info it’s been very useful to understand the anatomy of my knee and the mechanics of it. I’m doing the exercises but my question is how often they should be done? Twice a week? Every other day ? Thank you!

Thanks!

Thank you!
