You mean to tell me that my parenting was so bad that due to him being the "chosen one" he broke under the pressure and much like the keyblade in KH1 the "chosen one" title has to go to someone eles down the line. Damn really got a fallen hero story down.
Xehanort ended up inspiring one of the (potential) villains for my D&D setting. Even if he's defeated initially, he would have contingencies to make sure his machinations would continue in his stead. Even allowing alien forces to possess him to gain more hold over the realms, if even indirectly. Difference is, he isn't trying to save anything or have any warped sense of justice. He simply wants to survive past the end of worlds like a wandering god of knowledge.
Growing up I was diagnosed with aspergers and I got into arguments with family where they claimed I was a narcissist. I know there can be similar traits that can be misinterpreted but seeing this was a sigh of relief for me.
I studied with someone who had Aspergers. There's a very clear distinction between it and narcissism. Sorry your family had a hard time understanding it.
Makes sense gets raised being told you're the big hero you're gonna do great and helpfully things and then in the very critical years of being a teenager watches almost all of his friends die as he's powerless to stop it but is given two things that could help him fix it all
Ok, final comment, promise. Some fans told me once Xehanort's goals were not properly translated over to the West. He despises darkness too, just as much as light. But as Xemnas and the other Nobodies show, those concepts can be rendered meaningless, and new elements can be made your new core. That's why he's so prone to it. It truly is much more malleable than light. It's more than just ego. It truly is, for him, nothing more than a simple tool. He sees it completely in an utilitarian lens.
Fill up the comments as much as your heart wants. And yeah, what I understood is that he has a problem with the tyranny of light because it just exacerbates darkness, which is incredibly destructive once it's let loose. I agree he is very utilitarian about it and has no problem using it to bring about his idea of proper balance.
@@ChrisWrightReally When talking about Light and Darkness in the context of conceptual forces, they're often equated to Order and Chaos. That's a big part of why Light is seen as 'good' and Darkness as 'bad', I think. But of course, it always works both ways. Look no further for an example of an 'evil' light than the Calamity of Light that is the subject of the FF XIV expansion Shadowbringers. The aftermath was a 'world of stillness'. Similarly, the 'Light of Judgement' of 'Goddess Ashera' from the Tellius Saga of Fire Emblem, who had always been espoused as this endlessly benevolent entity, but as stated by her sister/clone/incarnation/cast off/etc Yune, is 'neither angel nor devil, holy nor base'.
@@devonm042690 Light and Darkness in KH are also equated to “positivity” and “negativity”; there’s an example of a very well-written villain of “Positivity” at the end of Persona 5 Royal, as another example. In this case it’s a dogmatic belief that if you have the ability to make another person “happier” in life you have an ethical responsibility to do so, even if it is against their own wishes. There are a few “good endings” in this part of the story that are like super-cute, saccharine fix-it fanfics at surface level, but have fairly horrifying implications as the circumstances mean that the characters’ personalities and development have effectively been erased without their consent. It’s an interesting take on the idea of toxic positivity-the avoidance of pain as a means of coping with negative feelings, bad living situations and trauma, as opposed to the self-actualization that comes from facing and accepting the negative parts of life. I don’t exactly _expect_ it from KH, but I would be pleasantly surprised to see an arc with similar themes regarding the possibility of a threat originating from the Light.
Nice to see another long form video from you. The deep dive into Xehanort's backstory and its psychological implications, and the outlining of how he manipulated Terra, was very intriguing.
Oh man.. Xehanort.. Xehanort. This was the start of the a villain that was part of all things for me. I really like the old man, tho. And his other forms only extend himself.
Xehanort is my favorite character, looking at analysis' from others always helps me with writing him correctly. I always understood him as a "gifted kid" who broke under the pressure and desperation to have a role he was never meant to have.
Palpatine sent the General of the Droid Army, his Sith apprentice, and entire CIS armada to capture himself. Xehanort sent a sniper and some chains to capture himself.
Exactly! Part of me is surprised Terra didn't catch on right then and yell something like "Hey! Aren't you able to summon your keyblade and unlock those chains!? How'd he get the jump on you when you're a fully realized keyblade master!?" at Nort. Like seriously, being that skilled with a keyblade and getting captured by some random sniper who's shots you're capable of blocking would be embarrassing.
First off, glad to see we're getting long-form videos of this calibre. I discovered u through shorts and massively appreciate the insight into stories , especially Kingdom Hearts. Second I think another point of note is that post-Dark Road in contrast to how he respected Vor's autonomy initially, Xehanort's response to problems is to try and control them (also a nice contrast to how Eraqus tends to try and change what he doesn't like). This may seem a good idea, learning to harness ones abilities is massively useful, but he tends to overlook when he himself loses control whilst maintaining the illusion of having it. The best example is his 'mastery over darkness', in response to the tragedy he experienced Xehanort manages to master its powers but remains wilfully ignorant that he has inevitably become the very thing he initially sought destroy, and all because he chooses to do it on his own, quite literally making 13 versions of himself to achieve his dream. All the while he ends up spreading more darkness than any heartless or evil person could. I think it's fitting upon his defeat when Eraqus tells him to give up even at the end he insists 'I can do this'. Xehanorts folly is his inability to let go of his own viewpoint and rely on the people around him. He'd rather lose himself than ever admit he strayed off his initial path
Glad to have you back. I find it very interesting that Xehanort had the emotional intelligence to push his friends to make their own decisions and follow their own paths, yet stuck so rigidly to his own role as the chosen one. Perhaps fulfilling that role was truly what he wanted to do, yet he didn't seem very interested in exploring his options either. I guess his life experiences constantly reinforced that his role was an important one, so I can't blame him for sticking to it. We can blame him for being manipulative, though!
I assume Luxu has become an even better manipulator than Xehanort if he managed to get multiple vessels and become the Xigbar we know of today. We don't know what has become of the original body owners, do we?
This is such a cool analysis. Ive never put much thought into how Xehanort actually pulled everyones strings. Ive always liked him, but hearing your thoughts made his schemes so much more understandable and reasonable. Id be interested in seeing you examine Riku as a counter point to Terra. They have really similar character arcs, both are even manipulated by a version of xehanort, but we get to dig so much deeper with Riku and see how he eventually claws his way to balancing light and dark, while Terra languishes as xehaborts puppet in heart and body all the way until kh3. It would be extremely interesting to examine where their characters diverge and why.
Got introduced to this channel b/c my youngest sibling was a student of yours. I gotta say, this channel is an interesting find!! I love me some good psych analysis, and that goes double goes Kingdom Hearts related vids. I hope you do Master Eraqus next!!
What I always found interesting is Ansem and Xemnas, their mindsets are similar yet different to Xehanort, so I hope you can dive into the for a video.
The really messed up thing about how Xehanort uses Eraqus is that he used his previous "I'm going to start the Keyblade War" scenario to set Terra up for a fall. The Xehanort Reports point out that Xehanort is the one who pushed for a more strenuous Keyblade Master exam than was originally planned specifically because he knew Terra would mess up. And of course, after seeing what happened to Xehanort, Eraqus would react in a way that made Terra rife to manipulate.
I find it funny that through the lense of this; my highschool fanfic of having an oc Being Xehanort’s student is a loop of sorts: with Xehanort pushing my character through the same type of lose that Xehanort went through during his time as An apprentice, he used their shared connection of loss to get to be more willing to work with him. Since hearts that are too receptive to feelings can suffer the worst backlash. Well ain’t that a kick in the pants.
Considering I want to write my own Kingdom Hearts inspired story at some point, this is a very important video for my research notes. Wasn't expecting this thorough of a deep dive on him, either. And to think, this _only_ covers BBS and DR. Not the stuff he did in DDD or 3, let alone his Heartless, Nobody, or his actions while suffering from amnesia.
@ligatelegations5436 Its still in preproduction, but the basic idea I'm going with is to have it so a mysterious goddess granted a selection of heroes a gift some millenia ago which allowed them to manifest their hearts into physical form: transforming knives which could make thin slices in reality they can use to slip between worlds. During modern times, a young farm girl (who is a mix of Sora and Kairi) discovers she has this power as well. Her home town is invaded by creatures if darkness, and by accident comes across a woman from another world (mostly original, but is based on what I think Aqua will be like in future KH titles) and her apprentice (a Riku/Terra hybrid) which both have had this power for years now. Because this farm girl refuses to stand idly by and watch the worlds be attacked by these creatures of darkness, she ends up joining what is essengtially a knighthood of interdimensional exterminators. Cue the three constantly arguing as to what role they should play in other worlds. The Xehanort expy won't appear at all in the first book, but in the other two I've essentially collapsed his BBS characterization and Xemnas into a single character, but with the mad scientist archtype he's shown to fill in 1 and 2. Due to the trilogy also being inspired by bleach, he essentially wants to successfully make this setting's equivalent of Visored (soul resper, hollow hybrids) by alchemizing hearts directly, thus achieving immortality and the means to directly tamper with the fabric of reality itself to bring about his own paradise.
@@DyxoXinoro Oh, wow! I wasn't expecting a reply so soon, let alone such a detailed one! But still, I got plenty of questions for this KH-like novel of yours, such as: -What are your characters' goals and motivations? -What are the rules that govern the world you're building, be it natural, magical, governmental, etc. (sidenote: it's one of the main things that I'm of a bit mixed opinion on when it comes to the KH universe. The general ambiguity of the rules.) -What kind of villain are you setting up? A tragic villain, as it seems to be the hot trend in Hollywood these days, or the pure evil type, or some third option. There's more, but those are my main questions. I am curious to see what your answers are, but ultimately, my main reason for posting these questions is to see you become the best author that you can be.
@ligatelegations5436 You caught me at a good time, lol. I like talking about my writing. To answer your questions, - The protag just wants to help people and doesn't have any greater aspirations. The Aqua expy spends the first book wanting to restore her home world after it fell into darkness, and is rather aimless afterwards due to having dedicated her life to that goal exclusively. Maleprentice wants to harden the boundaries between worlds so nothing can get in or out, but spends the series slowly learning that its really not that simple. Antag doesn't have a true end goal, due to being so focused on the process of experimenting on the nature of hearts, and because of that he's mostly motivated by the pursuit of knowledge itself... at any cost. - I haven't figured out the exact worldbuilding I want yet. However, I have decided on two major pieced of it. Firstly, the primary faction of people who have these powers have a hierarchy set up similar to the Jedi Order in the Star Wars prequels. There are apprentices when someone first joins, the bulk of them are knights, you can pass an exam to become a master, and then the seven most trustworthy masters make up the High Council. The antag is part of this high council, but is a mostly passive participant, only weighing in when asked his opinion on things. The other is that the goddess doesn't actually really care about what they're doing, so long as the job is getting done. And because she's so distant, there's an ongoing background conversation (especially in the third book) ablut whether or not she's even real. - For the type of villain... its hard to describe simply. On paper he's set up to he a tragic villain. Someone who discovered arcane knowledge and was consumed by it. But he doesn't act like one. Rather, he acts more like a cult leader in how he tempts people with this knowledge, corrupts them with it, and then uses them as aides to help further the experiments. He's an uncaring sociopath, but he is still very human at his core. His thirst for knowledge is both his greatest strength, and his undoing. Hell, he actually even tries to recruit the protag into his shenanigans, only for her to ultimately refuse after briefly training under him because its clear his attempts at empathy are merely him guessing at how people feel based in their words, actions, and body language. Yet, she ends up pitying him for how detatched he's become from the world. I like these kinds of questions! They force me to develop things lol.
The master of masters is soft confirmed in cutscene to be the personification of light. in the same way that there were personifications of the darkness in union cross.
Xehanort is such a fantastic villain i wish people paid more attention Dx Terra is one of my fave characters and i constantly reminded people that Terra was vulnerable during BBS Dx
Also, such a great video for a kingdom heart topic, like the series is long, so it has so much information and character moments to remember so a video streamlining a character arc and explaining it is so valuable
Thank you for your patience 🙇🏽 I've been making a lot of shorts content for the past couple of months to ease the algorithm into reviving this channel. It all was to build up to releasing a long video like how I used to. I've got more plans for the future 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Okay. So. Bit late to the party on this one, but I wanted to make a quick point about Xehanort's manipulations in BBS. Remember how Eraqus said to Terra that if it was up to to him alone, Terra would have received the Mark of Mastery? And how Xehanort himself said that Terra was the one who showed the "true" Mark of Mastery? Well. (First of all, BIG thanks to HouseOfSannae on AO3 for pointing out this next part.) Assuming Yen Sid was also responsible for grading the exam, XEHANORT was the one who cast the deciding vote to fail Terra. But that's not the interesting part. Oh no no no. AQUA is where things get interesting. See, I have a theory that not only did Xehanort set Terra up to *fail*, he deliberately set *Aqua* up to succeed, knowing that she wouldn't be prepared to fill her new role. And we see this in how they both deal with darkness. With Terra, he fights the darkness within him all the way down to the *BITTER* end. Even when there is nothing left of him but his Lingering Will, he still keeps fighting. So much so that he beats the damn *brakes* off of Terra-Xehanort. Aqua, by contrast, get her arse *beat* by the darkness within her. Girl spirals and she spirals *hard* when confronted by it. Phantom Aqua, Anti-Aqua, even that scene in ReMind when she's facing down the Demon Tide and *freezes*. Aqua does not have the same strength of heart that Terra does in that regard. And if Xehanort could clock that Terra's heart held darkness, I'd put money on him being able to clock Aqua's inability to actually face up to it. Terra stumbles and falls; multiple times at that; but Aqua gets literally swallowed the evils of the world. And when she sinks beneath the waves, she can't swim back up to the surface. Not without outside help. And in an authority figure? That kind of weakness is a *recipe for disaster*. One that someone like Xehanort would be more than happy to make a three-course meal out of.
And if you *really* want to twist the knife on this point? Aqua never really wins a straight 1v1 against a substantially strong Keyblade Wielder of Darkness. Her first fight against Vanitas? Mans was *literally* just playing games with her. And girlie *limps* away from him in the rematch after *winning*. Third time they face off? Yeah, she breaks the X-blade, but she not only had help from Mickey, Ventus was *ALSO* fighting Vanitas from the inside. Her face off with Terra-Xehanort also has her being helped by Terra, who's STILL fighting Xehanort from the inside. And even then, when they face off again in KH3, she gets clapped *repeatedly*. Honestly, I feel kinda sorry for her at this point.
@@soraingaegis3086 this makes me respect Xehanort's manipulations more, so I don't find anything incoherent here. If he was capable of predicting this much, then he truly is a master manipulator. But those are bad news for Kairi though. Because it means she's being trained by a weak master. Hopefully, Terra will interfere in the training.
@@JabamiLain Riku would probably be a better teacher tbh. He knows how to pull himself back up after falling a *LOT* better than Terra does. That being said, there's a reason why Terra's Lingering Will was considered one of the most terrifying superbosses in the series. And that was (arguably) when Sora was at his strongest too.
@@soraingaegis3086yes. But he's away. So...Still, him being her master would have been a great journey for the two. Nomura just keeps wasting Kairi, and I don't understand why.
I really want form breakdowns (or whatever you call the funny combat stance shorts) for the BBS trio and Eraqus. Specifically Eraqus, he's, like, the only character in the modern day that actually seems to maintain a proper guard at all times.
The worst part of Xehanort's manipulation of Terra, in my opinion, is that Xehanort really would have been the ideal mentor for Terra, as seen with how Xehanort advises Terra to wield his darkness in conjunction with the light. (If anyone thinks about giving me shit for using names so much instead of using pronouns more, be advised that it was either that, or this: 'The worst part of Xehanort's manipulation of Terra, in my opinion, is that he really would have been the ideal mentor for him, as seen with how he advises him to wield his darkness in conjunction with the light.')
Excellent video here. Really love the bits with explaining emotional intelligence and MoM supposed manipulation. As you said, Xehanort is excellent at making informed decisions based upon others emotions and where they stem from, as opposed to only/simply trying to make someone feel better. In regards to the MoM scenes, I still think he nugded Xehanort just a teeny-tiny bit for his own grandmaster plan, but in a Greek philosopher kinda way: allowing Xehanort to come to his own conclusions, helping him to connect various dots and offering his own curious counterpoints, all while also gently stroking his ego. "The world does need you, I'll grant ya that one..." Like I said, really good stuff here, and will definitely come back for whatever else you cook up! ❤
Roxas, Naminé and Xehanort are the characters I relate most in the series, even though Sora's my favorite of the roster. Edit: It makes me distrustful of Roxas and his future, but since I'm hesitant to relate to others, I don't want to project things here.
Something that also haunts me is how, before disappearing, YX in KH3 proudly boasts that he gets to "live out his own life", compared to Sora getting erased. But... That life of his is just an unconscious march towards failure set in stone by his time traveling shenanigans. In a way he became a universal tool without agency, like the way DiZ once called Roxas. Never to diverge from the destructive path, every action predetermined by his obsessed older self. Even though, tragically, he won't have memories of it due to the same time traveling rules. He's an asshole and surely he ruined lifes of so many people but it's interesting how it also applies to himself as well.
So honestly, Xehanort’s Nature (his lineage + powers of the heart) affected Xehanort’s Nurturing, which affected Xehanort’s self-image. I think Xehanort liked to believe his mentor’s claim (and at the very least believed he was special) but certain scenes in DR would suggest as he aged, he tempered his belief that he may be the Child of Destiny (“an old man can’t be the Child of Destiny, and I haven’t saved anyone from darkness, let alone the whole world”) Perhaps he did still WANT to believe he was, and that eventually twisted into his dream of “13-14 lives” because he could still be a “Child” of Destiny through his vessels, and the WORST darkness belongs to those who hide behind light (i.e. the Queen of Hearts)
This is such an insightful video for one of my favorite characters in Kingdom Hearts! It really gave a good scratch on a big itch! If it's alright, I want to share a slight disagreement on one aspect of Xehanort's character. While I understand why people view him as a narcissist and while I am glad you see it as traits rather than a full-on personality, I feel this is more ego than narcissism. As someone who knows a narcissist, I see a massive difference between them and Xehanort. Yes, Narcissists are known to be self-centered, which is a strong trait with Xehanort, at least as a villain especially after the events of Dark Road. Narcissists are known to lack empathy, which is not the case for Xehanort who has the ability to feel and understand the hearts of others. They are also known to see themselves as flawless. Xehanort does admit his faults even as a villain like, for example, understanding his experiment to attempt making the x-Blade using singular pure light & darkness was a failure due to him acting rashly. In Dark Road, we also see him pondering how he would move forward was not expecting the world to change but himself. Narcissists don't reflect on their mistakes or behaviors. I'd argue that Xehanort just became a villain by choice. He is not a liar by nature and simply uses emotional manipulation when he deems necessary for his goal That which I feel you covered up quite well, so I won't dwell on it). So, I basically see him as more self-centered, kind of an egoist who has developed narcissistic traits. I admit, it always kind irks me when some people see him as a narcissist when I think it is the wrong diagnosis (especially, again, coming from someone who personally knows a narcissist and is trying to get out of the cognitive behavior effected by their actions). I think he is simply being a villain who is more egotistical. I appreciate you taking the time to research your sources to make this video very profound and insightful view of my favorite character. Gives me great joy to see more Xeahnort content and happy to find this on recommended. So thank you for sharing! I'm impressed!
Hey, no worries. I welcome thoughtful disagreement 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 I think your explanation is well put together and can understand him being self-centered rather than narcissistic. I definitely wanted to avoid a diagnosis cause, although he expresses these qualities, it's calculated and contextual. Although I lean towards calling the behavior narcissistic, I can understand the argument for ego.
I can. Don't know when I'd do it, but I can 💪🏽 I've done some shorts talking about him too if you'd be interested in that. You can find them in my shorts section/playlists
16:47 I wouldn't know. I have Asperger syndrome, so my empathy sense is limited. I do have cognitive empathy, but compared to emotional empathy, it's weaker.
@@gamesmaster804it makes it harder to read others, doesn't it ? Still, I feel like it's a big part of me, I like how I am, so I wouldn't trade it for anything.
@@crimsonmaelstrom573I think it's part of the reason why I'm not always much of a forgiving person, and why most of the relationships in this specific series feel off to me. I wouldn't change a thing, though. I find myself quite likable.
Xehanort watched Big Hero 6 and thought “Group of six friends saving the world? Organization of 13 selves solving the world.” The funny thing is that I was questioning if I was right that Xehanort was narcissistic because he wanted to make 13 versions of himself.
Always felt bad for Aqua during BBS and beyond. Xehanort never directly tries to manipulate her because out of the three, she probably has the strongest will which makes manipulation harder. Yet she is forced to mostly sit on the sidelines as her family is torn apart and then forced to walk endlessly in the Realm of Darkness; she didn't deserve that.
No, I think it goes beyond that. Do you remember that theory she wasn't supposed to be master ? Well, based on how it was said she uses magic in place of her physical technique, and based on that flashback with Young Xehanort, that would make her one of the people the Master despises. Someone who steals strength from those who truly deserve it. That means the theory either is false, because then he himself is encouraging the mindset he seeks to destroy, or Xehanort doesn't manipulate her because she reminded him too much of himself. Someone capable of manipulation. This highlights Xehanort's narcisism, as he never seeks an equal with whom to share his ideas. It's sad. Because Aqua, like him, eventually comes to ask if there's more than the cycle of light and dark. Xehanort sabotaged himself by not seeking her out.
Apologies to all the future cast and their struggles for failing to raise his right, we fucked him up... aldo amazing video, and now that i think about it, his plan could be a way to stop the Darknesses from spreading if he is able to balance the light and dark
He played mostly with teens. Only a few were adults and experienced masters, and even then, they were too close minded. Can you say he's a master of dark psychology when so many of his adversaries were THAT bad at emotions ? Then again, I should give credit where it's due. He did manage to always adapt to his defeats, learn from them. But in that case, I think he's more like a master salesman/CEO, promoting his destruction and ownership of land in full. Edit: A comment here managed to convince me he is a master manipulator.
I'd say the ability to determine who's a stable target and who's ripe for domino-tipping is a pretty good skill for a psychological manipulator to have. Gotta know who to stay way the heck away from because trying it on them is too dangerous. Which is part of why teaching as many people about these psychological tactics as possible is so extremely important. Because it gives those people less targets to prey on.
That's just it tho, why would he target the adults when the teens are that volatile? He's choosing his prey specifically because he knows they're susceptible to it, because he knows it'll work, and doesn't bother with those it won't work on. That alone shows it's not an illness, he's deliberately and very specifically targeting his plans to be carried out by those he trusts onto those he knows it'll work on. It's like a sniper aiming at a commander's head rather than the easiest shot, because it'll cause the most chaos.
All the planning in BBS wouldn't have worked if Eraqus himself wasn't such a flawed man himself. But it is excusable; after all, both of them witnessed what happened in Dark Road. It would mess up anyone, maybe even Sora. But I wonder how different Xehanort's plan would have been, had Eraqus been more of a...stable master.
Yeah I noticed there weren't any interactions between them leading up to the Keyblade graveyard. I wondered why and I believe it's cause she was the only real threat to his plan. Makes sense to have Vanitas essentially distract her while he does his thing.
This wait for "KH 4" can not go on for much longer ! My views on the main cast worsens by the day. I see the worst in them day after day ! It's making me similar to Xehanort !
Can you do analysis on Timmy and Xehaor? Timmy is pretty much paraded around like a hero even though he did nothing other than being a son of the mouse that helped the rats escape from NIMH. There is also the fact that Nicodemus' prophecy according to the Secret of NIMH 2, that one of Jonathan's two sons would be chosen. Of course Timmy gets chosen and has to be sent away pretty far from his family to be trained as the prophesized hero that everyone wants. He does show some creativity that scare off predators, but he's chastised, "You NEED to think things through to be as great of a hero as your dad was." So, he's away from family and his support system are constantly belittling him and comparing him to his dad, Jonathan Brisby who gets killed when Timmy was pretty little and hardly remembers. His brother also gets captured. The movie flopped btw.
I think you've requested Arthur Morgan in one of my shorts. It was either you or another viewer, but I've seen it pop up. I haven't played Read Dead Redemption, but I can check it out. No promises on a video on him any time soon though.
If Xehanort returns, and the MCU is one of the worlds visited, I want Supreme Loki (it's how I call the variant/the protagonist of the "Loki" show) to meet that new incarnation of him, and lay some facts towards him. As for Sora, I want him to meet Hope Van Dyne ("What if" really showed she truly understands men and young men with their inner child still alive, and knows how to handle them depending on the circunstances they find themselves in), Kid and Alligator Loki(s), and Captain Carter (unlike half the fandom, I think she deserves the title as much as Steve). And finally, Riku, I think he should meet Doctor Strange, and, if he hopefully lands during the events of "Multiverse of Madness", he manages to save Wanda.
With any luck, Xehanort *never* returns. This racially ambiguous dark elf needs to exit the freaking story already. When he showed up in Melody of Memory, we were already approaching "Collect 8 badges and become the Pokemon Champion" levels of beating a dead horse.
@@HunterStiles651 😄😄😆😂"racially ambiguous elf", good one. Unfortunately, I do think we'll see him again. In "Kingdom Hearts", death doesn't fully take you until you complete your arc and feel fulfilled. He completed it, alright. But his spirit, along with Eraqus's, also got younger. There might be implications there.
I don't think we saw the last of him. I think he's like Orochimaru, more demon than man. Or like Emperor Matheus from "FF 2". Plus, his true anti-thesis, Sora, was still alive. And the latter has that little habit of incubating hearts 'til they're ready to return to the world. Who's to say he didn't look at Eraqus and Xehanort, and thought, "Well, I'm already breaking the taboo, why not bring them along ?". He's like Kaname Madoka (Madoka Magica) after all.
He stated how he wants 14 lifetimes to complete his goal and he technically did get 13 when he created his 13 hosts for KH3. I wouldn't be surprised if that line is a clue to him finding some way to endure and achieve his desired 14th lifetime.
Video suggestion. What if you compared "Kingdom Hearts" with "Knights of the Old Republic" duology ? If I had to choose any of the times for "KH" roster to land on "Star Wars", it would be that era. And if you compare them, you'll understand why.
No. A dark empath. A sociopath has very shallow notions of emotions, so their manipulations are often basic. A dark empath knows EXACTLY what's going on with you in detail and why. Their manipulations are more complex and thought out.

You're not alone. My sisters sometimes mistake them too.
@@ChampionAnalysis Light can also be welded as destructive as Darkness can. They are both dangerous.
@@nemesi55isn't that what the Lost Masters and MoM are ? Light at its worst ?
Xehanort is a fascinating villain.
Nice to see another long form video from you. The deep dive into Xehanort's backstory and its psychological implications, and the outlining of how he manipulated Terra, was very intriguing.
Thank you for watching 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Oh man.. Xehanort..
What helped Xehanort manipulate the birth-by-sleep trio was Earqus's flawed teaching on light and darkness
This! Eraqus had no interest in balance . He was a light extremist pretty much
@@XalocinRiku would have definitely butted heads with Eraqus!
THIS EXACTLY! You've GOT IT. Eraqus' blind loyalty to light and light only is what caused the whole event to spiral.
Star Wars
My man literally screaming at Xehanort like, "YOU CAN BREAK THOSE CUFFS!"
6/10, not enough DARKNESS OR X-BLADE. Plenty of our main man Xehanort.
What's the tally for "Darkness" compared to "Xehanort"???? 😈
Our boy is back
Xehanort is a 🐐'ed villain.
This helped me undertand the character of Xehanort SO much more
Great video
The really messed up thing about how Xehanort uses Eraqus is that he used his previous "I'm going to start the Keyblade War" scenario to set Terra up for a fall. The Xehanort Reports point out that Xehanort is the one who pushed for a more strenuous Keyblade Master exam than was originally planned specifically because he knew Terra would mess up. And of course, after seeing what happened to Xehanort, Eraqus would react in a way that made Terra rife to manipulate.
13:10 I mean Tera was still in there fighting, for all terras faults, the man never gave up fighting xehanort
His back-up plans had back-up plans!!!
His backup plans's backup plans had two fully realized organizations with 13+ members each AND time travel shenaningans.
Welcome back dude. I loved this so much! It was a pleasure watching.
Oh my gosh what a surprisingly amazing video, that was SO GOOD
Ah yes, my favorite KH villain before he started body surfing and became my favorite character.
Late reply, but what's your story about?
But still, I got plenty of questions for this KH-like novel of yours, such as:
-What are your characters' goals and motivations?
-What are the rules that govern the world you're building, be it natural, magical, governmental, etc. (sidenote: it's one of the main things that I'm of a bit mixed opinion on when it comes to the KH universe. The general ambiguity of the rules.)
-What kind of villain are you setting up? A tragic villain, as it seems to be the hot trend in Hollywood these days, or the pure evil type, or some third option.
There's more, but those are my main questions. I am curious to see what your answers are, but ultimately, my main reason for posting these questions is to see you become the best author that you can be.
@ligatelegations5436 You caught me at a good time, lol. I like talking about my writing. To answer your questions,
- The protag just wants to help people and doesn't have any greater aspirations.

The king has returned! Glad to see you are making long form videos again man.
Okay.
Well.
(First of all, BIG thanks to HouseOfSannae on AO3 for pointing out this next part.)
Assuming Yen Sid was also responsible for grading the exam, XEHANORT was the one who cast the deciding vote to fail Terra.
Anyway. Sorry if this seems a bit incoherent. I'm really tired and it's like 4am where I am lol.
Those are on my to-do. I just wanted to finally complete this Xehanort project.
All good here. You can use names or pronouns. Whatever conveys your ideas effectively 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
"The world does need you, I'll grant ya that one..."
Like I said, really good stuff here, and will definitely come back for whatever else you cook up! ❤

HE LIVESSSSSSSS!!! I love your videos!
This video slaps 🔥 Xehanort is my favorite
Roxas, Naminé and Xehanort are the characters I relate most in the series, even though Sora's my favorite of the roster.
Edit: It makes me distrustful of Roxas and his future, but since I'm hesitant to relate to others, I don't want to project things here.
Guys we gotta share the video more. I want that Aqua video.
Good video dude!
Will you be making an analysis on sora

I wouldn't change a thing, though. I find myself quite likable.
Xehanort watched Big Hero 6 and thought “Group of six friends saving the world? Organization of 13 selves solving the world.” The funny thing is that I was questioning if I was right that Xehanort was narcissistic because he wanted to make 13 versions of himself.
He himself was manipulated by the Master of Masters and Luxu.

Information: Explore the Darkness of Xehanort!
Xehanort is the Ultimate Dark Empath!
maannn u sound like u would make an excellent motivation video.
Weve GOTTA see Sora using some darkness in the main series.
He finally found his account password, fellas
😂😂😂 That's so good!
@@riluna3695I see.
@@shadowsnake5133I see. Choosing targets is an important skill, indeed. Btw, I'd call everything he did proof of some mental breakdown.
Wow so Xahanort goes after Ven and Terra but not Aqua
Yeah I noticed there weren't any interactions between them leading up to the Keyblade graveyard. I wondered why and I believe it's cause she was the only real threat to his plan. Makes sense to have Vanitas essentially distract her while he does his thing.
Another proof that nature and nurture is not mutually exclusive towards each other.
Yeah they should only be treated separately for the sake of studying them. In reality, we have multiple influences occurring simultaneously.

He does show some creativity that scare off predators, but he's chastised, "You NEED to think things through to be as great of a hero as your dad was."
So, he's away from family and his support system are constantly belittling him and comparing him to his dad, Jonathan Brisby who gets killed when Timmy was pretty little and hardly remembers. His brother also gets captured. The movie flopped btw.

Niceeeeeeee
@@ChampionAnalysisI wonder if that'll further decay Sora's mental health. The boy barely found any closure. What do you think ?
somone talking about the story and not just the events, nice
Why is Eraqus's mindset about Vore reminding me too much of Sora ?
Riku, stop idealizing Sora, and fix this !
Video suggestion. What if you compared "Kingdom Hearts" with "Knights of the Old Republic" duology ?
If I had to choose any of the times for "KH" roster to land on "Star Wars", it would be that era. And if you compare them, you'll understand why.
Sssooo a sociopath
No. A dark empath.
A sociopath has very shallow notions of emotions, so their manipulations are often basic.
A dark empath knows EXACTLY what's going on with you in detail and why. Their manipulations are more complex and thought out.
Bro spoiling jjk on this vid is crazy
I'm sorry but the xehanort saga ended so booty the dude got talk no just and turned good, that's so disrespectful towards xehanort he should been out right irredeemable
He never turned good, but whatever you say
