The Duo's Den is a strong and defendable solo-duo base. It features a cheap to build starter that easily expands into a full main base. It also has "breakaway peeks" that make the base more defendable the more it gets raided.

hey i gotta question, everytime i build this design with all the externals and gatehouses my breach peaks and my gatehouses are decaying even though all my tcs have all the materials. pls help me

@@danielwollam4347 Yeah, that's not fair to say. There are a lot of good builders. Both Dust and Crow are my favorites, and I like their bases equally. I used the Crux forever until this Duo's Den came out and I was so impressed by Dusts work. Then Crow released the Viper 2x1 which is so awesome for offlines. So I have been using that. Today, I am I building the Duo's Den with ideas of incorporating Crow's sectioning of the base to keep raiders from moving freely about. They are both bad ass builders and when I look at their bases I think, "They must collaborate with each other."
bro these videos are so high quality, ur plugins to make building more clear, faster and easier to understand, the quite music, no more is said than what needs to be and of course the bases are crazy
If you need to replace the turrets in the shell after you've upgraded to sheet metal, just stand at the bottom of the triangle roof piece and place a twig frame on the raised foundation. Now you can add your turrets back :)
Update: You can also use adobe roof tiles and the turret will fit.

as cool as theses pvp online defence features and as fun as online raids are the odds of you encountering an online raid is slim to none now a days, would LOVE to see a base catered towards offline security while still maintaining some online functionalities.

Reposting this comment because it's relevant here:
"The reason there's no bunker in the core is because the door raid cost is already more expensive than the wall raid cost - so bunkering the main base doesn't make any sense. That being said there's a vending machine bunker on the roof which adds 15 rockets of additional, distributed loot storage!"
Also, I've had a few experienced raiders take on this base in an offline situation knowing the internal layout, and every time we've come to raid costs of 50+ rockets for all main loot, externals, vending machine bunker and all locker kits. So it's a fairly capable base for offline raids still. If a group can pull together 50 rockets, they can pull together 60, 80, 100, etc.
@@arielbouhnik8796 i run hex core base similar to this, but more catered to offline protection. u can easily add a godbunker to the core and to the 2nd floor as well, if u want but its not really necessary

I built your base already too Dust. Also modified it slightly. And those bottom bridge peek turrets can be placed on the triangle even with both walls sheet metal. I had no problem placing them. You have to move the turrets around a bit slowly and it will place.

Love it! ive been in a clan for a long time and built zerg bases and now im only playing solo or duo with my friend and this is a very nice compact and defendable base for a duo for a reasonable price! the design looks sick, the peeks are strong the only thing i would need more is lootroom. the 2 vending machines can store some stuff aswell which is great and the locker behind the t3 can come in clutch. especially since i mostly go afk around the workbench somewhere. quick access in case of heli spawn or raid defense! also the peeks revealing throughout a raid are pretty impressive since the only thing comparable to like big bases are inner peeks or ramp peeks this is very unexpected to see when you raid a base this size. sorry for the long text just wanted to spill some thoughts! great work!
Update: Base is beautiful and overall nice to live out of, just the storage is a little too less for me and my duo

Please do another base like the vulcan or vulcan mini, I've always loved smaller bases which you can fit almost anywhere without having to worry about if you can fit a compound down or not.
I have built this already. Super easy to build and really sick. My only wish is one more loot room lol I might have to add another floor above the tier 3 room
If you want more loot rooms you can turn the wide gaps into wall stack bunkers while still having peak downs

For your disconnectable TC's I've been using a single door instead of a window. With the goal in mind, I'm going to replace the single sheet door with an armored door and upgrade TC walls and door frame to sheet metal. This makes your disconnectable significantly more expensive. I play on long servers so keeping my base is always on my mind.
Totally, I usually do 2 windows and a sheet door for my externals, then sheet metal the disconnectable part. The only reason I didn't on a solo-duo base is metal frag cost - I just wanted to be conscious of more casual players!
What is the point of having the TC like this? I’m new lmao but everyone keeps doing it
@@Ilikebigbooties If you get raided, raiders can't seal because the external TC's have building priv range that covers the rest of the base. The problem with this is that it also prevents you from placing down a new inner TC because you can't stack building privileges directly, so that's where the disconnectable comes in. TC building privilege gets extended through connected sockets and foundations, so by disconnecting a socket (say, a couple of triangle floor frames because they're cheap) you disconnect the TC which makes it so privilege doesn't extend from it anymore, which allows you to replace your inner TC without having to destroy your external TC's.
How do you disconnect the externals?

I absolutely love this base design! I'd love to see it enlarged to a quad or more base size.
To enlarge this base make a 7x7x7 triangle foundation core. Instead of a single hexagram foundation, off of all 3 sides with one raised triangle foundation, make 2 hexagrams with 2 raised foundations on each side.. You can figure out the core on your own however you like it.
definitely will be using this as someone who isn't really a builder and is solo this is a perfect base for me. Will be subbing

Hey dust! Awesome build. Just to note that you mention hqm upkeep being 66 total but then you opened your main Tc it showed 93 - which is correct?
I think 66 but 93 if you upgrade all the things he points out as optional.
It's 66! The tour was filmed before the build, so the number was actually inflated by sections of the base that didn't need to be HQM :) I trimmed it down before doing the build section. Good eye though, I was wondering if somebody would comment on that haha

In those door frames leading up to the wide gaps through the front door. You can put gate frames in them to stop ladder in while maintaining visual coverage

Sick base man using this now! Was going for the new solo bunker but went for this, I totally zoned out on the roof building the honeycomb for what would be the bedroom, I basically built the segments on the wrong section but have improvised and made it sick. Made a heli garage a computer station with cctv and drone with a funnelled garage door layer with bunkered vending machine at the top. Looks amazing, just need to get the auto turrets down now!
Already had a raid attempt defended successfully with this design Dust! I didnt have turrets up yet and they decided to go straight through the gatehouse doors and into the widegap sides, i had already put gdoors on the bottom part of the wide gap and i was able to put gdoors on the upper part as well, i made them waste 6 rockets before they even touched core honeycomb and they gave up when they realized they wouldnt have enough to get through. Great base to defend an online as solo!.

I pre built it on build server, in prepare of wipe, i just used gateways from your other video “Yeti” where i can place 2 drop boxes and 2 turrets each on every gateway. Also in so called “airlocks” i’d place down chainlink fence or prison cell walls, looks kinda cool . Just this base really lacks space of storage, i guess building a lootroom inside the compound also may work, sick base other than that, excited to test it out as a solo , in live wipe

worth the wait
Recently had a 6 v 2 defence in this base and it stood up well, great turret coverage, breach peak turrets kept raiders at bay will be using this base again
I love this base. I'm building this on a server right now as a solo! The only flaw I see with this base is the lack of storage. There is not much room to store stuff. But overall, this base is amassing. I love the peaks, I and it is well protected. Well done Dust.
Shown in the tour is about 18 large boxes worth of storage - also keep in mind there are spots for 9 lockers in this base and 3 more in the externals.. if you're putting kits in lockers you shouldn't have a storage problem with the remaining 18 large boxes!
I built this a few days ago as a solo had zero problems with storage
Bit late bit a fix is putting boxes in compound or some of the lockers turn them into vending
