I was out flying for the first time in over 7 years this past week. Had a good time so it looks like I am back into the hobby again. My engines all ran like they were just put away the day before. I have a couple that I rebuilt that had not run since the 80's that I want to bench run. (Supertigre 60 and a Webra Speed 61. Also a couple of Enya's I cleaned up. Oh and a nib K&B 61 I came across on the forums for sale. I have an Astro Hog kit I may build and put the K&B in as it would be correct for the era.
Glad you're back in the hobby, sometimes you get too far on a certain path with any hobby and wonder why you're doing it. Sometimes all it takes is going back to the beginning and you find the fun again.
I got a few of those old engines of mine running today. One of which hadn’t run since 1982 when I crashed it. All were seized solid before I cleaned them and changed bearings. I threw some real short vids of them running in my channel. Nothing fancy.
Hello David, so happy to see another video from you. Always informative and very enjoyable as I am an enthusiast of the hobby and all of your content. I recently acquired a OS 1.20 four stroke surpass with a pimp, but has a square carb and a horn style intake. I can’t find any info or at least the approximate year it was produced. Could I send you a pic of it, maybe you might be able to help me pinpoint a possible year of production. If that’s not possible I totally understand I just value your knowledge and professionalism with this hobby. Thanks again and like always, I will be looking for the next video from you, crazy but it’s like Christmas when I see a new one pop up, love all your content ! Thanks again .. and God bless !
You could really only hear it at idle. The third video in this series I show how a quick segment of the bad sound compared to the new bearings sound. You will just have to wait until later in the month for that video. Here is another showing the same thing, different engine. ua-cam.com/video/pSG9B17wv3Y/v-deo.html

Hi Dave, nice video. you mentioned the bearing being bad, was that the noise that to me sounded like a squeak? It was an odd sound.
