What was the difference Between the the special and the regular Mk2? It was a higher lift cam if I’m not mistaken? Besides the point beautiful little gem makes me miss my first version fa45 with two piece head.
The last airplane that I flew with a 45S was a SIG Rascal 72” ARF. That was a beautiful airplane and a great combination. Sadly that airplane is not longer available in that size.

The 45S was the initial offering of the soon to be used ‘hotter’ cam for all subsequent Saito engines.

Yes the can shape and/or timing.
Different intake manifold and carburettor.
There are a lot of planes that would be a good size for that engine available, but most of them are foam these days.
