Remember that video that went viral showing a "real mermaid" swimming in a river in "South Africa?" That video was filmed in Northern Michigan. And the real mermaid in the video was me, a real professional mermaid performer. This is my original mermaid character for my performance business. Her name is Mermaid Phantom. Here is another video filmed the exact same day that viral mermaid video was filmed. During that event in the river, I swam for about 3 hours. In between dives into the river, I'd take breaks on the cement divider that I'm lying on in this video. While there, I would interact with the kids and families who came to see me during the event. After the majority of the crowd had cleared out and the official event was over, dad shot a few clips for me to use for The Magic Crafter brand.
This video clip was COMPLETELY unscripted and nature added her own unique twists to it. I discovered a vein of natural clay in the river and realized that I could sculpt the clay into little figures. And so, this video shows me in my silicone mermaid tail using river clay and seaweed to build a snowman out of clay. Or, perhaps we should call it a clayman?
