Mr. Marty!! It’s so great to hear from you. Thank you so much, you taught me all of it! I hope you’re doing well. Hopefully we can catch up before too long.
Top load is recently being rediscovered, for it’s slinkyness. Favored by Page, Buckley and Campilongo... behind the nut bends, more resonant full chords... try it! You’ll be “in the know”!
I find the American pro 2 Strat an incredibly high quality musical instrument with no faults whatsoever . Everything about it is so good. I also have an American performer strat which is a beautiful instrument with its own unique sound and feel. I have a player Strat which is a good instrument . I went with Miami blue as it looked quite unique. I originally liked dark knight after seeing it on UA-cam videos lol look good stunning but when seeing it in shop found it to be much darker more like black in darker rooms ie without a spotlight shining on it . I found Miami blue colour to be better than expected from videos . Very nice Alamo videos helped me choose - I don’t live in the USA . But these fender guitars are so cool.
Good taste, brother! I just ordered a Pro2 in the Olympic white with rosewood but now I want the Tele in Miami Blue with a maple board. Not sure if I should swap it out or just buy one next few paychecks, lol.
I just ordered the roast pine body with rosewood, but am also already considering which body color to couple with a maple neck down the road. Ya know, one for leads, the other for rhythm, or, ahh, one for country, the other for western? Any reason to add another…
Played the Tele in Miami blue some weeks ago in a local music store and totally fell in love with it. Since then I am thinking about getting one... But it is still a big chunk of money...
If you have any gear that you don't need sell or turn them in, also you can talk to a rep and most times they'll drop the price by a hundred or two. So you can pick one up for around $1.3k and then whatever you get for selling your old stuff.
I'v bought both the Telecaster and Stratocaster HSS in this range and I love them so easy to play, I'm going to add the Telecaster Deluxe AP2 to the collection soon.
J.Mascis uses a topload tele to record the lead parts on most of his stuff. He is the person I thought of when I saw that. Nice feature, I will try it out for sure on mine.
Has Cooper’s playing made huge strides since he first started appearing on the channel? Because lately he has been killing it and I just don’t remember that in the beginning...
This is the review that made me want to subscribe. I would love to hear some tele instrumental video all about the guitar being played and nothing else. It’s so relaxing lol
I realize that they were just released today but why is everyone reviewing the Miami Blue color? Is that the color they sent out ahead of the release for reviews? The Dark Night color looks awesome
God the tone of that telecaster is almost like that guitar is telling me brother you found your tone..I just ordered the roasted pine and I’m sure I won’t regret it!
I'm guessing the supply of ash is being impacted by ash die-back, which is blighting a lot of the ash trees here in the UK and may be doing so in the US too. What is 'pine' anyway? It's a whole family of trees, not just one species. Everything from Sitka spruce to Scots pine to Lebanese and Himalayan cedar is pine!
I like to top load a tele. Because then the strings don't go through a dramatic angle change. So the strings don't really ever break. Plus I am of the opinion, and I've never heard this anywhere but it just makes sense to me, that a top loader actually resonates the bridge itself, adding to the ballsyness of the bridge pickup in the form of microphonic juice.
im really on the fence due to the fact i hesitate between 3 single micros or HSS version of this guitars ! 😭 For the finish the roasted pine is just perfect 👏
I bought this kind of strat and it’s a amazing guitar. However they come with 0,09- 0,42 and the string heights are very closed to the fingerboard. I’m thinking of changing the string sets to hybrid 0,09- 0,46 anyone tried those? And how set the strings a bit higher or more inclined on the 3 lower strings ? Great video!
Quintessential: typical example of a class. I had to google it. Felt I was missing an important part. Is it newly popular in 2020 that word or it’s been there for awhile ?

They have it for 1,599 on website. LOVE the pine. A bump in price, but I really don’t think I would try to upgrade anything. So might be a good option.
The specs state that the two pickups on the AmPro2 Tele are both "V-Mod II Single-Coil Tele". Does that mean they're the same pickup? I thought the neck and bridge pickups in teles were different.
They are different in design for each position. The Neck is narrow and shallow where as the bridge is wide and deep - bigger than a normal single coil. - Chris
I have the feeling that it is the same guitar, strat and tele, of the previous professional and the previous standard, but now with a different name and differenti colours, which I don’t like.. i’d rather to have more selections in the wood choice (recently the maple it is very withe and it looks cheap).
The more Fender rolls out their upgrades, the more I click on guitars from China. New and improved rolled edges on a product they've been doing since deep into the last century. Good thing Fender doesn't make printers. We'd still be chiseling messages in stone.
Michael Ogden why does the Chinese roasted necks with stainless frets and shielded bodies and Japanese pickups sounds worse? Serious question on paper they should be better right? No guitar is advanced like tech, more like a paintbrush, there is only so much you can do
So very good to see you Cooper. You're playing great and I am so very proud of you and the very fine musician you have become! Best to you, Mark Marty

Thanks for playing the maple necks!! Seems like everyone else is demo-ing the rosewood
I just acquired a dark night tele and love the guitar! Fender has hit it out of the park with this series.
I love the roasted pine, would of been cool for them to put a roasted maple neck with it
We need Cooper's demo of Am Pro II Jazzmaster
That Miami blue color is stunning.
The push-push switch on the strat adds the neck pup to positions 1 and 2. On the tele, it switches from series to parallel when in position 2.
Yep, we asked Fender to clarify and they finally did - yesterday. ;) but that is what we figured out it was doing.
J.Mascis uses a topload tele to record the lead parts on most of his stuff. He is the person I thought of when I saw that. Nice feature, I will try it out for sure on mine.
For a guitar aimed at “Professionals” they should come with locking tuners as standard to assist with quicker string changes.
Professionals can do quick string changes with whatever tuners.
@@outsiderdf But, at $1400.00, they should have locking tuners.
@@billpholde4816 Again, not everyone considers them as added value.
Professionals dont change their own strings 🤷
@@christophergradiz1962 Well then, who's strings do they change?

That was our early sample. We just received a Dark Night Strat.
The dark night certainly looks awesome
Mary Spender has that one.
You might as well just title these "Hey, Cooper's gonna play more guitar!" ..that's why we're all here, right?!
After his knockdown by the keyboard dept., it was interesting to see Cooper blown up. Great guitarist, and now a stuntman... Stay with the day job!
Need to get one with the Dark Night finish just so Cooper can do a video and say, "I'm Stratman".

new player here, getting the Miami blue finish w that sweet maple neck for my birthday, thanks for the vid
A year later. Did you get the birthday Strat? How goes your guitar journey so far? Cheers!
I have a 1983 Tele that is a top loader. Interesting that her you have the choice...
im buying the HSS dark night.

I know, I made them while working at Fender
Miami blue is actually a paint code used by Porsche available on all current models.
Haha, i love fender
Another great video guys; always fun and informative, cheers.
Just bought one, really nice-p

there is lots of quality ash out there.

I would never imagine such an enthusiastic respond from the Gibson community if Gibson modernise their standard line. Wait....
Just as well I have an American Pro I Tele in Butterscotch that does have an ash body.
Friendly FYI, it's "coming down the pike," not "pipe."
Maybe they live in a sewer.
Cold Road Steel?
Cold *Rolled Steel
Ash is not a rare wood and there is plenty of it - Pine is just cheaper, period.
Ash trees are dying everywhere.

About $1500.
$50 more than the outgoing Am Pro

Miami Blue is a Porsche color. Get it right.😤
Bought pro 2 and mim equivalent .. 100% price difference 5% guality difference… except I like the pus on the mim better, more sparkle

Tele in this color looks more professoinal
Somebody, just fuckin play guitar with me
Why would anyone in a million years want someone to scream at them without warning.
Very very thin and bright. no presonalilty. this is their weak point and at the same time its strong point. But please use your tone control
Man Cooper is so hot, can't even concentrate on the guitars sorry
