My neighbor’s Pyrenees protected me every night when I was depressed and alone at 17. I lived in a very rural area back then and I worked on my neighbors farm. My guardians had left me in a barndo with its mortgage while they moved to their new home. I was scared there all the time and kept all the lights off as much as possible to save electricity and make sure no one thinks anyone lives there. It’s like he knew, the pup would start heading to the barndo as it’s getting dark and lay on the porch all night. I didn’t realize he did that until one night I heard shuffling outside and growling and barking. When I went to check after the noise I found him standing right outside😭 He was most likely barking at another animal, like a deer or coyote, but I felt so safe after seeing him ever since. He was like an Angel from God. Now that I’ve thought about it, God always sends animals to comfort me in my darkest times. He is good🥹

I happily named my Great Pyrenees after this courageous dog. I was soon after diagnosed with cancer and this then one year old dog stepped up and would walk slowly beside me to help with my balance. He walked with me up stairs, with my hand embedded in the ruff of his neck fur. Odin never complained if I lost my balance and stumbled, pulling on his skin and fur to recover. Odin would, and still does, cross in front of me so I can grab hold of him to help myself stand from the floor or ground. All of this without coaching. I am now 2 yrs free from cancer and now in remission but I honestly do not think I would have made it through what turned out to be excruciating pain from the chemotherapy, were it not for this wonderful gift of a great dog. Odin is now
    Almost 4 and he amazes
Me daily. Great Pyrenees dogs are wonderful, and I’m so happy mine is living up to his namesake

His pit attacked and tore the throat out of his toddler granddaughter...before he could even respond. The only thing that stops them is a bullet. It's a breed with a body count, banned in towns and cities that value human life.
You can pretend that your pit is safe, but everyone drawn to the breed knows and enjoys the fact that it's a dangerous animal. Im literally crying 😭. I love Great Pyrenees, my in-laws have a half labradoodle-half Great Pyrenees. He's the sweetest big boy, he's like 120lbs. He loves my daughter like she's one of his flock. He will follow her everywhere and is very protective of her. ❤
