Good to see you again. Can't wait to see some more pics of the new little one. They grow up too fast. I've had three of my grandchildren this weekend. Nothing like it. Love you all tell Zia hi for me. Take care and be safe
Always enjoy your videos, more importantly you showed how it done with a boat many times less. Became a ambassador of Mongolia a land lock country yet traveled 10,000 plus miles on sea. You use nice LCD screen for navigation, desk space is worth more than a nice cabin, Mongolia women are hard working, catch great fish, sail like crazy, thumbs up to Zaya. Having a cat sailboat is not only for the super rich. I am learning sailing again and really miss begining on the water.
Stew, your editing just gets better and better. I loved the transitions. Hats off to you for that and more importantly to you and Zaya for following your dreams. Thank you for the reminder that dreams become reality only after the first step has been taken. As a fire-walker who has walked on 1400 degree hot coals, I can affirm that the first step is the most difficult and once taken, that first step sets up the way forward with the confidence gained. Best wishes to you three as you move forward.

Been watching for awhile now. Like some of your vids and some I don't. Thought this one was cooL. Saw several blasts from the past. The little hole in the FL weeds where you went on the hard? Awesome!👍👍👍
that's interesting! I never really thought we made two kinds of vids for folks. You either like 'em or you don't was what I thought. So, I have to ask you what kinds you like and what kinds you don't so much? cheers and thanks for the comment, Stew
@@SailingLuckyfish Cap! I believe, but am no way a expert, I believe you have four points of interest. Everyday life, travel, boat works and special events. Not all can be combined into a single vlog. But, when in FL it did get to be so much boat work, it became hard to hold on. I am a boat owner and fully understand the hard works. But when I get done with my day of work or DIY I'd like to watch a good show. Not the same thing I just did for that day. I watch U-tube because I'm done with TV. U-tube is now my slow down time, relax time. If the show gets slow or boring. The brain is short timed???? Maybe??? LoL. Congrads to you two!!!!!!!!!!! All the very very best!!! if i remember right, there was a time that you weren't completely happy with your wind generator? maybe it vibrated too much atop of your mast? (I don't remember). refresh my memory please. btw: very nice recap. it was enjoyable, as are most of your video's, thank you.
heading back to the boat next month and going to implement some changes to try to fix that wind genny. Should be interesting! Thanks to a ton of suggestions from viewers. Glad you are enjoying, Stew, Zaya and Leo
Hi from Portugal. May I ask you one question it's on my mind for sometime. Do sail boats have on top of their masts a protection about electric storms? Thanks and good wind. Your boy is wonderfull my congratulations. I'm already great grand father bof two.
To be clear, there is no "prevention" from lightning strikes unfortunately - de ionizers, static charge dissipators etc are not proven, however, you asked about "protection" and yes there are very complex systems that connect all the conductive materials together and then "earth" them to the sea but even with these systems extensive damage can occur. thanks for your kind words and congrats on being a Grandfather! Cheers
the absolute consensus of any and all of my military buddies and all of my fellow texans i have ever talked to always have sworn that marrying their petite polynesian wives was just like winning the jackpot of our lives , we all agree , and always will , a little pot of gold only we know about .
We are thrilled with the boat for so many reasons. If you watch more of our videos you can see why. Handling is totally easy. Like a toy. Living space is mostly up on deck as we are in the tropics mostly. CHeers,
@@SailingLuckyfish Thank you for your reply. I have watched several of your excellent videos. I suppose the only way to know is to follow your lead and take the sea on a Wharram design! Good winds to you!
Stuart, you are working on raising my Blood pressure! A whole week and no update? Project X? Are you and your family going to still cruse? #Freetuya #FreeZaya
Why don't we hear from you anymore? Where did you settle down? How is your amazing woman? How is the boy? There is a life beyond sailing and we are eager to hear how do you manage
I'm curious of your Wharram wind autopilot self steering. I've seen the basic plan for this and I think I may have to build one for the Richard Woods Gypsy catamaran I am building. Does it work well for you? Is it difficult to build or operate?
Yes it works well. If you have transom hung rudders and a straight pivot line for the trim tabs, this system could fit your boat. Two vanes is good too, clear air. Good luck. link to the system here ua-cam.com/video/HwEejk7bhCw/v-deo.html and construction plans are available from Wharram Designs. Good luck! Stew
A ten minute cliffhanger, well done. No, this won't get you 100k views, but it will get some of your words (videos) out into the World. I have been reading and watching "sailing" stories, blogs, and videos, for well over 3 decades now and from what I understand from all the reading, listening, and watching, that I have done, I have gathered this "knowledge"; (this space is intentionally left blank) Yes, there were days when people actually set out on life adventures without a penny in their pocket, and made a life free from the construct of money-up-front, and doubtless there are still people doing this today. Countless adventures and discoveries have been made by persons who were financed by money-up-front, and likely will continue to be financed in this way until the Sun no longer rises in the East. Someday, if there is still water flowing from the spring of inspiration toward the understanding of greater things, I would like to be like Odysseus who recorded the experience of his adventure, or Dante who described his journey through Hell, or maybe, just maybe, one mans attempt to sort out all the darkness that is in the World to find the direction toward the light, and share that with my fellow travelers. Of course I may be projecting here.
On how money relates to sailing I fully agree with that it is and always will be a spectrum. For the singlehander who only needs to concern him/herself with himself - doing it on a shoestring or less is entirely possible and quite a romantic notion for many. Some couples and families do it this way too although its increasingly rare. For the monied end, there are endless solutions. the challenge lies in the middle part of the spectrum where most of us reside. how to get into a fairly capital intensive pastime on finite funds. There are definitely solutions out there and Im looking forward to "channeling" them here.
