Im 68 have been fishing in Texas my whole life. Last Tuesday i finally caught a 24 pound, 37 inch blue cat on a live bluegill. It took over 20 minutes to land. About an hour later I caught a 12 pound, 27 inch blue cat on a bluegill head. Two personal best in one day!!! I was fishing Cedar Creek Lake from a dock, casting out to water over 20 feet deep.
Yep! That's the best way to get down a bank-On your backside!!! Been there, done that! It ain't fun...but once you get your footing, and get cleaned off, you're alright. I wish I lived out that way. I LOVE to go fishin' out there at that second spot that our Superhero was at. I'll bet there are all 10:12 kinds of fish in that River, especially where that little Waterfall is. That'd be the perfect area for Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, Buffalo Fish, Carp, and maybe even some nice-sized Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and such. Oh!-And let's not forget about the Crappie, White, Striped, and maybe even Yellow, types of Bass....and maybe even some Carp and Drum, too!
@@ronaldshank7589 I too have went down, many a bank on my butt. My first thought is, "Did I break my rod (or tip), did I dump anything out?" It was only when, I reached the waters edge (and after baits are in the water. Did I stop longer enough to, check the important stuff. "Am I bleeding, did I break anything?"
Made my night don't stop, here is a classic example of why I follow you, you still post if things didn't turn out as planned, because fishing just like it has a way of happening when your making plans 😊
If you're talking about where he landed on his butt, I know what you mean! Been there, done that! It doesn't feel real good...but, after awhile...no more pain...or embarrassment! 😁😁😁
I've been watching a while but never commented (I don't think 😂) but dude ... what a cracking show you have... like waaaaay better than anything on TV... I think I speak for everyone... thank you man! We really appreciate it ❤
Thanks for taking us on another adventure with you. If your saving invasive crap fillets or chunks, try adding Menhaden Oil to the bags before you freeze em!! Thanks again and please try!!!
Nick my man. Channel catfish are great catfish bait! I cut of the sharp fins and use the live. Just like bullheads. Which I also cut the spines off! Great videos my son and I watch you every Thursday! Tight lines my friend!
You’re definitely on the right track to get a monster fish. We just got our first 100lb+ blue a few weeks ago, so I can definitely tell you that all the hard work and time is well worth it. Keep at it!!!!🤘
Hi Nick, from here in the U K Thank you for the fun of your search for that elusive 100+ Catfish . You will get there Nick. Keep the videos coming, would not be the same otherwise.
I loved the slo-mo release of the white bass at the start of the video. Looked like a giant sea creature but for the fingers😆 I love your videography skills
It's nice to see that you upload now when the ice just started to appear over here, hopefully it gets thick enough for icefishing soon. Anyway love the videos and nice to see that you catch some fish at least
The 100lbs hunt continues and I'm here for the journey! And bro, you need to get that traction thing sorted out, you've been slipping and falling for years now I'm starting to think it's a feature of the videos, lol
Thank you for all you do. I must watch every time there is a new video. It provides me tons of joy. Also feels better to watch you catch fish and big fish while currently when I go salmon fishing in Lake George, NY and only catch Perch and other panfish hah.
I think that's the biggest fresh water Drum I've ever seen... that was huge! We catch quite a few of them around Central Kansas but nothing that big. Great video man... will be watching more.
I started watching your channel for research on growth for my own and WOW! I can see why you have a great following. Amazing editing style, really love the videos. Subscribed of course!
That looked like a fun day of fishing, even if you didn't land that 100-pounder! I admire your persistence and how you adapted to the conditions by switching spots and trying different baits. That deep cliff spot looked promising! What's your go-to rig for catfish when you're fishing deep water like that? And congrats on that huge drum - that's a bucket-list fish for a lot of anglers! 🎣
You have great videos, have you ever thought of coming out to utah to try some trout fishing or some ice fishing? I'd be down to show you some of the good spots
Love your videos. Broke my leg a little while back so it’s tough for me to fish right now so I love to live through you. Still managed to catch a couple ling/burbot and trout though fortunately
Just landed back in England tonight after an epic 2 weeks of fishing in Thailand to find this video dropped in my inbox. You are a bad influence on me Nick - Had my bucket list fish out there, a 176lb Arapaima, when it first rolled I found myself saying 'big fish, big fish, please stay on' and repeated the line when catching a new personal best Juliens Golden Carp!
Hey nick, love your channel. Been watching it for a while. I have caught some very large catfish in the past but always on much bigger bait than you're using. Usually I try and catch the biggest brim I can and put the whole thing on, preferably live.
You're awesome I appreciate your videos so much. I always enjoy the vicarious time with you. That fall though... We've all been there. Hope you're OK after that. God bless...
3 Small Catfish...a couple more trips to re-locate yourself, a fall on the ol' hiney...and 3 BIG Fish, to top everything off. Other than that fall, onto the ol' sit-down area of your body (and yeah-I've had that happen before!!!), it looks like you had a great day of fishin'!
Always a treat when a new video comes available, specially now that my fishing season is over. How much time does it on average take for you to have those establishing and walk-by shots (setup, action, and dissassembly)?
Gotta get in one of those trophy blue cat charters that run on the Mississippi in downtown St. Louis… def worth it to land that 100+ pounder you’re chasing.
Thanks for letting that common carp go! As a European carp fisherman, I find the thought of using (common) carp for bait appalling. Probably similar to how you would feel about using a nice bass or catfish. Always interesting to see how fishing cultures are different. One reason (among many others) why I’m really enjoying your content 👍🏻
Love you nick. It is a tradition in my family to watch you videos every week. Catch a big flathead my friend
I appreciate you guys watching!
Always look forward to Nick's videos every week
Your behemoth catfish is still out there. Looking forward to when it becomes a reality. I'll be sure to be there watching cause it surely will be epic
He should have millions of subs, underrated as heck
I definitely agree my man.
Agreed!!

That is awesome! Great catches!
Nice…👍💪🏽🇺🇸
Good ol' Kemp TX! My kiddos grandfolks live out that way in the CC. the golfcourse ponds are loaded with bass and cats.
7:20 Nick, thank you for keeping this in. 😂 Your videos are professional, and this was unexpected 😂
Nick once again, showing everyone. The proper way, to get down a bank. Great video, as always.
The absurd amount of extraneous punctuation gave me a stroke
Yep! That's the best way to get down a bank-On your backside!!!

I did similar good ng down a steep hill years ago hunting mushrooms. Decided to just sit on my butt and slide.
Made my night don't stop, here is a classic example of why I follow you, you still post if things didn't turn out as planned, because fishing just like it has a way of happening when your making plans 😊
Use to say best fishing channel.
Gotta give it the best channel title.

Another great video!! Can we get a blooper reel? There are a few things that 618 does better than most 1) videography 2) falling on his butt😂😂
I was on vacation for a few weeks and am just getting caught up on your videos. This one was great!
Nick my man. Channel catfish are great catfish bait! I cut of the sharp fins and use the live. Just like bullheads. Which I also cut the spines off! Great videos my son and I watch you every Thursday! Tight lines my friend!
They are, but in a lot of places, they are considered a game fish and are illegal to use.
You’re definitely on the right track to get a monster fish. We just got our first 100lb+ blue a few weeks ago, so I can definitely tell you that all the hard work and time is well worth it. Keep at it!!!!🤘

less than 3 minutes in but should this be renamed "The Hunt for 100 Tiny Catfish"?
Couple nice catches!!!🎉

I wish this videos were longer. Great vid!

Hope that common carp went out and bought lottery tickets after that release, because he one lucky dude. 😎🤘

Nope. You weren't first.
Always a treat when a new video comes available, specially now that my fishing season is over. How much time does it on average take for you to have those establishing and walk-by shots (setup, action, and dissassembly)?
It wouldn't be a Nick video without him falling down 😂
That was a nice drum. Would've liked to see a weight on him.
Great video
Dude those baby cats are amazing bait.
Gotta get in one of those trophy blue cat charters that run on the Mississippi in downtown St. Louis… def worth it to land that 100+ pounder you’re chasing.
Always enjoy your videos….
Hell yeah!
Nice he took that slip like a champion

The music is fire
Amazing fishing
Was anyone else totally bummed when you heard the lunker music and saw the ultralight setup? Let's get that 100 pounder!
All of his biggest fish lately seem to be on his smallest rod
Nice big ol Drum!!!!
