- I give you my first look and review of one of the most popular ceramic coatings in the market, CQuartz UK 3.0. This ceramic coating is one of the best DIY ceramic coatings you can buy on the market, and I give you my analysis of the coating, go through the application process and see how easy it is to apply to your car. Keeping with the classic CQuartz UK wipe-on wipe-off application it can be buffed immediately or left on for a few minutes while still buffing off super clean and easy. For enthusiastic car lovers or pro detailers, this ceramic coating is a top option to protect their cars.

Very good instructions. I recommend more lightning for installation.
You are lucky you live in TO.
You have bricks and mortar stores you can go to and buy product without paying shipping and you can talk to an expert.
Wish we had these places in NS.
Love your segments.
No nonsense down to earth revues.
Thanks man.
Stay safe on the DVP!
I recommend Carzilla. I order from Ottawa they are in Calgary but shipping isn't super expensive and free after a point.
Great video
Thanks John! Welcome to the channel!
Awesome product we let it flash for minimum of 15 mins. Very user friendly 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Completely agree loving it so far it’s been a year!
Let me know what your experience has been with ceramic coatings! I am looking forward to how this one performs 😎
I just applied this last week. Wish I did it sooner. Keep up the great content!
Awesome how is it so far?
@@carswithsonduren incredible so far. Love how easy it is to clean. Even the bugs just wipe right off. Now to see how long it lasts. I polished with carpro essence first(plus all the other prep stages)
I applied this just today.. planning on putting gliss on top of it in the morning...
How longs after I'm finished can I wet the vehicle to see if the hydroponic qualities activate?
At minimum 48 hours. Ideally a week.
I put this on my 2003 m3 2.5 years ago and it's still easy to clean.
But it lives in a garage, doesnt go outside in bad weather, does 3k miles a year and only needs the occasional wash.
How it would last on a car used daily and washed more often i cant say
hi, thanks for the video. this gives me confidence to try it myself. question: 1. where did you buy yours? I am also in GTA.. 2. my car is new. just got it last week. would a touchless wash and alcohol be good before I apply? 3. after how long of the application did you apply CarPro Reload of the first application.
@mzsaad did you ever try it? Just bought my car as well and was wondering what steps you did before you applied the ceramic coat.
Definitely need a contact wash, and also a finish/primer polish is beneficiary before application, then degreasem then apply
thanks for the video, couple of questions, how long should I wait to apply the second coat or ceramic and is a specific microfiber towel I should be using?
Low ply microfibre towel and wait 24 hours after the first coat.
thanks for the fast reply! excuse my ignorance, but i know nothing about microfiber towels… what is a low ply towel?
A cloth with short fluffs basically :)
I am looking for a ceramic coating to go on the fairings of my Ducati motorbike. Ducati do not use clear coat as it adds unnecessary weight to a superbike. This means the paint can be easily marked by the rubbing of clothing and doesn’t have a height gloss. These are the two things I want to correct.
What would be the best high gloss ceramic coat to use? Is it the one in this video, and what would be a good wax coat to go one top to create a deep shine that ceramic doesn’t provide. Thanks
Yes this one would be perfect. I had an 899 Panigale with the same problem. Nope just use this ceramic and you are good :)
99% IPA? That's going to make the paint swell bad right before you coat it, you may not get the proper bond your looking for. That's why most preps and panel wipes are only 30-50% IPA. Just a thought
Carpro Eraser is a great panel wipe to use prior to CQuartz.
That works great as well :)
The paint swell lmao
@@jerjawsI've seen plenty of videos where they mention this
Do you use the same towel to apply the ceramic or you gotta keep changing into a new one after covering a few sections??
Different towels
@@carswithsonduren how many towels do you need for a medium size vehicle for example VW passat b8 ?
Have 4 with you
Great video, is that one microfiber cloth is enough for whole car ?
Probably 2 is best
Is this a good DIY product, or does it require more experience, etc. to apply it? I've been detailing my own cars and friends for about 20 years and have used a multitude of products, but never a ceramic coating. For example, if you let it flash too long, is it forgiving, or would i need to buff it flat?
This is definitely forgiving and a good products for DIY. Similar to you I have been detailing cars for many years. Do you will be perfectly fine with this product. It is forgiving but you still need to follow the instructions and do 1 panel at a time.
@@carswithsonduren Thanks for the info. Ya, my plan was one panel at a t time anyway, since first go at it. Do you know, is this better than any of the Gyeon products or ArmorShield? and if so, can you give a brief reason why? I hear ArmorShield is very easy but does not last long, and Gyeon seem great, but very sticky and not done right will leave high spots.
The truth is, I have just read reviews comparing them all and decided on CarPro. I don’t have experience with those two products firsthand. Honestly, you won’t be disappointed with CarPro.
I have this product still sealed from 2019 , would it still be good to use on my car ? (Unopened sealed , in the box , room temperature)
Honestly, I would use it. Most likely it’s life is impacted but I’m sure it’s fine.
Do you recommend it for hobby detailer? I dont use a polishing machine..
Yes I am the same and love this product.
Question.
How long after applying the coating before the car can get rained on?
Or in other words for a mobile detailer without a studio you can put up a gazebo to apply the coating, but you have to leave sometime.
48 hours at minimum
@@carswithsonduren thank you. So unless the customer has a garage it doesn't work for mobile.
@SimonsCarVlog ideally correct
hi, a local detailer is suggesting a graphene coating (adam's) over this ceramic coating but they are charging more for it. Would it be worth the extra cost to go with the graphene coating?
Honestly it just depends on how much more. Do they warrantee their work?
@@carswithsonduren about 125 Canadian more for graphene. And yes they do.
Graphene is more resistant to water spots from research, I would go with graphene but verify the coating and the company
Pretty sure the stickers are used to keep the microfiber to the foam block.
I don't have a garage. Think I'd be okay applying it in a shaded area of my driveway?
That should be OK. Pick a day with no wind! It’s not ideal, but if you have no choice pick a calm day
When should you apply the reload? Can it be done directly after the coating
I would do it a week after imho.
Is IPA necessary for a brand new vehicle with ~100 miles?
Yes. Do it to ensure a 100% clean finish.
Which brand ciramic coating is best
Imho CQuartz
Doesn't alcohol remove the wax?
Yes, and that’s exactly what you want to do before you put on a ceramic coating
99% 😳
I used this product on a black vehicle and after 3 months i start getting water spots back
Any advised ln that
How did you apply it? 2 layers? Did you let it cure for 72 hours before getting it wet?
