  • Today, we're going to take a look at Ben Gordon's career. He was supposed to be the Chicago Bulls' franchise player when he got drafted in 2004, but nobody really knows what happened to him after the 2009 playoffs. Unfortunately, Gordon is no longer in the NBA as of today and in this video I talk about how that happened.
    I make all kinds of NBA videos which include trivia, analysis, player stories, countdowns, conspiracies, and mysteries. Make sure to leave a like and subscribe if you enjoyed this video!

    I do realize that Bogans was a great defender, but that 2011 Bulls team had a great defense mainly due to a team effort. Gordon would've been way better as their starting SG, as their offense was the thing that let them down in the ECF
    Anyway, next video will be a story video about a young player who's on the Bulls right now!

      Luol's old, that's how his career ended. For the most part, he was a valuable starting forward for a team who can do a little bit of everything on offense and defense, like a poor man's draymond green.

      He was always going to get that eventually just due to his high style of play. Body's not suppose to be going too fast, jumping that high and absorbing all that force.

    • @igk916
      @igk916 5 років тому +6

      zerogeass21 incorrect. The body can handle that force just fine as long as your absorbing said force in the proper areas. Rose always landed on one foot because he had a bad habit of kicking his left foot up on layups, jump shots, dunks, etc. also he would use athleticism to get through the defender with speed and explosiveness instead of finesse. He often landed with his knee being bent and extended over his toes. Putting way more pressure on his ligaments, tendons, and joints instead of his muscles absorbing the impact.

    Ben Gordon was apart those scrappy Bulls teams (2005-08) that battled the top teams and gave them a run for their money most nights. Still unbelievable that they were able to sweep Miami in '07 practically the same team the won the title the prior season. What could've been if he hadn't bounced *sigh*

    Been a BG7 fan since his UCONN days. BG7 didn't play around much with NBA politics and that's not marketable. I for one used to notice KH12 not passing him the ball on multiple wide-open possessions. They kinda held him back like they tried to do with Jimmy. Tried to make him take the backseat to Deng, who in my opinion, was not even as effective as Gordon. There was a reason they kept forcing him into the lineup. He had Ginobili's attitude when it came to sacrificing for the team, he never once complained about the 6th man role. All in all, the team was never built for BG7 in the first place and in each team he played for afterwards, he had games 9-10 three's made, only to be benched for what I believe were non-basketball reasons at every turn. I still don't see why the organization chose Deng over BG7... same way I don't see how they chose Mirotic over Butler. I guess that international market is more important than actually winning. I mean, United Center still selling out, right?

    • @garyyoung2919
      @garyyoung2919 7 років тому

      BTW, you forgot to mention that BG7 was going to accept the Bulls new offer but they pulled it off the table early. Dumars thought he was worth it but that wasn't the same battle-tested Detroit team. Plus he was finally sitting behind a legit SG in Rip Hamilton. John Kuester was the head coach... enough said.

    It's a tough one, because if he stays on Bulls, he develops, but Rose possibly doesn't, but we all know in the long run it doesn't matter because Rose goes down anyway. So yeah, in retrospect, he should've stayed on the Bulls. This could be used as a good example of what transferring potential to the bench can do to a player who believes they're better than that.

    Gordon was a great offensive weapon, on the other hand just like Carmelo he never developed on defense like a Curry or Rondo and didn't really pass unless he had to thus making himself one dimensional which in the NBA means in and out in a few years. There are a lot of players that were great offensively Mcgrady, Monte Ellis, Michael Redd, Gilbert Arenas, Karl Malone but never played any defense or got others on their respective teams to play ball offensively. Rose needed for Gordon to go otherwise it would have stalled his growth into the 2011 MVP.
