"That's a spicy meatball," is from an Alka-Seltzer commercial from the late 60s. It became a catch phrase because that series of commercials were very funny.
Yes and no other big movie stars career took off as fast as his, Not even Tom Cruise’s career took off that fast. Jim Carrey is the best comedian of all time
@@nataschasummers That's because it became an actual " meme " in the way Richard Dawkins meant: an information virus that gets passed from person to person with most people not remembering where they heard it.
Stanley’s coworker at the bank who took him to the club is Richard Jeni, a highly acclaimed comedian in his own right. He was extremely popular in the 80s and 90s, with lots of cable TV stand up specials and more appearances on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show than any other comedian. Unfortunately, he struggled with schizophrenia and paranoid delusions and shot himself in 2007.
Q: What is wrong with Stanley? A: He's a nice guy, most women only want a nice guy to show them attention, do nice things for them, buy them things, however they date and give it up to the bad boys or just used the nice guy, as this movie shows Female Bank employee: got free tickets that are costly, I mean why would a guy buy them and not goes himself, there a reason why he bought two 1. He want to go with you, and 2. You didn't tell him about your friend, and she knew he probably was going to get them as they had to talk about it. 2. Peggy: originally wanted to used Stanley for a story, then later she conspired with known criminals and set Stanley up for money to keep her condo, however her action almost got Stanley killed and Arrested. Tina: is the girl who fell in love with the bad boy and knew he was a criminal but stay with him, true she was tired of that life but it was only because a nice guy shown interested in her, and she pretty much used him to free herself from known Criminal, and yes she tried to run away, but come on common sense should tell you that if you fall in with a gang they'll not going to let you go easily, I mean I know she a blonde but can't be that dumb. So really all these women used Stanley, however one was smart enough to keep him at the end. As a child watching this movie everyone is told the mini gang boss ( can never remember his name) is the bad guy so no one questioned the women around Stanley, I mean gang boss is evil, he let you know that upfront, however those women are more evil than he is.
I'm not sure I would use a fictional comedy with pretty cardboard thin characters as a data point in looking at realworld relationships. Most of the women in this movie specifically take advantage of Stanley because it serves his character arc/shows what a doormat he is so we'll have more of a contrast when he turns into "The Mask". Also, I love how you implied blondes are "dumb", and got a thumbs-up from the creator...a blonde.
She started as a model, and god DAYM was she hot there. Shockingly good looking, combined with her sweet personality I was blown away as a teen back then..
The cartoon Stanley is looking at on the TV, with the wolf is Tex Avery's "Red hot Riding hood". It is not looney tune , but Tex created characters for the looney tunes too, like Bugs, Duffy, Elmer Fudd and so on, he even created Droopy and also worked on Tom&Jerry

The fact that Jim Carrey released Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber AND The Mask in the same year is insane. That's more success than most people's entire careers! And Cameron Diaz's first movie, absolutely stunning.
@@passionsquietrageboth Ace Ventura and Dumb & Dumber had similar backstories… nobody wanted to be in either movie during the making of both movies. Mamma Mea that's a spicy meatball was actually used by Alka Selzer in a very famous 1969 commercial . That was also what Carry was making reference to as well in the movie. The commercials worth going on you tube and watching it. That's what tv was like all the time. Lol
I loved The Mask as a kid. I think at the time, it was the first time I ever seen a comic book movie that wasn't DC or Marvel being made. I'm sure there was probably other Live Action adaptations made before this one, but this was the one that really got my attention. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is my favorite Jim Carrey movie, mostly because it's the least Jim Carrey movie he's ever done. It's also my no.1 favorite movie of all time as well.
"The Mask" is the movie that really put Jim Carrey on the map. He'd been a cast member of the ensemble TV show "In Living Color", and had already filmed the first "Ace Ventura", but it hadn't been released yet. So when director Charles Russell told screenwriter Mike Werb to purposely craft the screenplay with Jim's talents in mind, the first word from Werb's mouth was "Who?" Upon the film's release, it made over $350 million at the box office, which was very impressive due to the $23 million budget and Jim's status as a virtual unknown. He made just $450 thousand for playing Stanley Ipkiss, but his notoriety rose to such a high level that he was able to secure $10 million for his next project released the same year, "Dumb & Dumber". As for a sequel to "The Mask", one was planned in the late 1990s, but after the comparatively disappointing results for "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls" in 1995, Jim decided against doing any more sequels. Ten years passed, and New Line released a spinoff called "Son of the Mask", which featured neither Jim or Cameron Diaz. That movie was a total failure, grossing less than $60 million on a $100 million budget. There's been some talk of a reboot in recent years, but nothing's been confirmed as of yet. The original film hasn't even been released on the 4K Ultra HD format yet, which as a rabid fan truly ticks me off.
47:07 "Aw, he's just a little boy. How is he gonna get up there?" Jack Russell Terriers are notoriously high energy and excellent jumpers, able to propel themselves 5 feet into the air. (You should never assume that, because they're small, they'd be a good breed to leave alone in an apartment all day. They are likely to be massively destructive if bored and left to their own devices!) It wasn't a surprise that Milo was able to chase that car all the way to the police station, and the jump here is only stretching reality a tiny bit.
I love the scene when The Mask sings Cuban Pete. It's so funny and very Broadway-esque. I really really love the bit toward the end where he appears over the bar and pulls a Clint Eastwood with that line from Dirty Harry. "Now you have to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya....punk?"
Although The Mask is based on a comic book from Dark Horse, the film is a New Line Cinema production, which is owned by Warner Brothers, who in turn owns Looney Tunes cartoon characters and DC Comics.
lol, amazing movie and reaction. This Loki's mask has many powers and one is enabling him/the wearer to change reality at will! The movie pays homage to the comic and the cartoon. He was the biggest star when this came out. 1994 - Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber. He became a legend!
Just wanted to say you are a joy to watch. Thanks for the fun reaction. Jim Carrey and Robin Williams both have a special place in my heart because they have magic in them. They can both do comedy so well but also do drama. And they are both incredible human beings.
Did you know that Jim’s chipped tooth is real? He just had it fixed in all of his other movies… but in Dumb and Dumber he popped off the cap to expose his real chipped tooth to make Lloyd look more unique
Fun fact: The comic book series this movie is based on is really really dark, especially since the Mask's cartoon-physics only extends to him, so people die gruesome deaths as a result. Ipkis isn't even the protagonist for that long, he gets killed by his girlfriend in the end of his story because she grows tired of him being a loser.
Check out the movies Major Payne(1995), The Nutty Professor(1996), Rush Hour(1998), Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery(1997), Men In Black(1997), Jumanji(1995), and Mortal Kombat(1995).
33:49 The mask doesn't have "attitude", it just brings out the inner you. So for Stanley is the wacky, cartoony, showman and he's getting confidence because of it. The comic book Stanley is just psychotic killer. Oh yeah, the comic this started as is way more violent.
I like that this movie subverts the "dumb, stuck up blonde" routine and shows the "nice" office clothes-wearing intellectual girl to be an actual villain.
When they're taking all that stuff out of The Mask's pockets, they had Jim Carrey wear shorts with the pockets cut out. Prop men laid on their backs underneath Jim Carrey and passed all the props up through and handed them to the two actors playing the cops, searching his pockets. By making sure to shoot Jim from the thights up, you'd never know.
She-Elf, let me introduce you to a new word... "absolutely"... I'm sure eventually you'll be able to find some sort of use for it... but seriously, you're fantastic and a joy to watch as a reactor... I'm glad you enjoyed the movie! I watched it on VHS back in 1994 when a girl I had known for many years showed it to me at her place. It never gets old. I grew up watching all those old Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoons. I can do the vice for: The Abominable Snowman, Marvin The Martian, Elmer Fudd, etc...
This was Cameron Diaz's first big movie and the one that made her a star. It was also the movie that really launched Jim Carrey into an A list actor. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. Jim Carrey was uniquely suited for this role and nobody else could do what he did. I think they made a sequel but without Jim Carrey and so it was a bit of a flop.
This film is too funny, I love seeing this now & then. "What are they gonna do to me sarge? What are they gonna do?!" 😂😂😂 BTW you're prettier than Cameron Diaz.
They call him Cuba feet he’s the king of the Ramba beat… A great reaction yet again, señorita. Keep on keeping on and Gritos from Tejas. “…it’s supposed to make you feel… powerful.” -Stanley Ipkiss
Some deleted scenes explain a few details: A pre-credit scene had Vikings drop a heavily locked chest into the bay centuries ago, then abandon the whole continent as "cursed." On his way home from the club, Stanley gets his watch stolen by the street gang, hence the "Actually, no!" and his later targeting of them. Also, the comic this is based off of was originally a horror comic - the Mask acts like a cartoon, but the world does not, so the classic pratfalls he pulls do...unfortunate things to the bodies of the people around him. (think what a fast-moving mallet or anvil would do to a real person) I like the movie much better for changing that.
Such a Sweet Ass Reaction to this movie i loved it lol. You got to check him out in; "Ace Ventura"(1994) "Dumb & Dumber"(1995) "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls"(1995) "The Cable Guy"(1996) "Liar Liar"(1997) "Me,Myself & Irene"(2000) "Fun with Dick & Jane"(2005) He will have you rollin on the floor lmao
Lol, seeing Cameron Diaz in this movie as a kid/young teen made me realize "huh....yeah, maybe girls aren't so bad".....she could cause pileups at an intersection.
No one will read this so I can say this. I LOVE SON OF THE MASK. YES. It's not as good as the first one but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE MUSIC NUMBER!! AND I LOVE THE CGI. TGE STORT. YHE BABY. I LOVE IT ALL
I have to admit that since this is the first video reaction of yours I am watching; I spent half the video trying to place your face. My first thought was Gabrielle Anwar, but I think you are correct, Emily Blunt. Now for the accent, lovely of course; I want to say ...
The reason why is because it was a flop… if she wants to watch dramatic Jim Carrey, she needs to watch Truman Show. That was his most popular dramatic movie
It gives a power call Toon Force he becomes a 5th dimensional being so in other words it makes him immortal and have an abilities like thinking something and it just happening. Example: Person is robbing him. . .he starts to make a balloon animal and turns it into a real gun no magic no time between balloon to gun just happens cause he wants it to i.e Toon Force Power one of the most broken power in all of comics.
Fun fact: Jim Carrey almost didn't make this movie. The casting director for Jurrasic Park auditioned Carrey several times for the role of Dr. Ian Malcolm before Spielberg decided he wanted Jeff Goldblum's take on the character. Had Carrey been given the role, not only would the JP series have been very different but this movie and Jim's other iconic movie Dumb&Dumber would likely not have been made. Yes, a(sort of) sequel was made in 2005 called Son of the Mask. It's not very good though.

So great to see an English reaction channel. I like a lot of international ones, but ones from home are so rare. Sorry to hear you've not been feeling well by the empire strikes back reaction notice, hope you feel better soon. There is actually another mask movie, but it doesn't have jim in and is known for shockingly low quality. But if you want some more great movies from him, liar liar is a pretty good comedy. But the one closest to the mask has to be me, myself and irene, it's a riot. Can't wait to see your star wars reactions, but might hold off till the trilogy is complete. Still loved the reaction, keep up the great work 👏👍
The crew wanted to do CGI more, but Jim Carey just has that natural face, (i.e as he's taking off the mask he can naturally stretch his skin) so CGI was not needed.
some movies you'd love ( will list popular ones so you will still get good views) but i hope the people picking movies for you dont pick nostalgia boomer movies thats not really suited for you or all that great and will be a bust haha -Blast from the past -v for vendetta -arrival -sing street -cloud atlas -blast from the past -6th sense -hill house tv show -office space -idiocracy

im glad pepole know now adays who's loki. watching the movie, knowing abit of norse myth i had a blast, but nobody knew who he was back at the 90's and the 2000's by the way there no such a thing night god unless some god represent the night... like odin isnt day god and fenryr ain't afternoon wolf... gods were gods 24/7
It's still unfathomable to me that he had The Mask, Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber in the same year. He was already active for a decade but boy, what a career breakout.
A great movie! And this happens in a 'comic universe', so all the people are like normalized with the super heroes and even aliens. For them is like 'normal' to watch crazy things. And you have to watch Who Frame Roger Rabbit (1988) please! So related with this film ;)
this movie was originally supposed to be a horror movie. they wanted a new horror franchise as the nightmare on elm street franchise was faltering. then jim carrey auditioned and they decided to rewrite the entire script

I just noticed that women nowadays have caterpillars on their face as eyebrows. (Look like Eugene Levy) haha
How did you just notice?
one of my favorite Jim Carrey Movies is the Majestic one of the few serious roles with a small easter egg from the mask at the beginning
This was always one of my favorite Jim Carrey movies since the 90's!😃🤣
Did you know that Jim’s chipped tooth is real? He just had it fixed in all of his other movies… but in Dumb and Dumber he popped off the cap to expose his real chipped tooth to make Lloyd look more unique
Cameron Diaz's first ever movie. She's perfect in this
she really is!
Cameron Diaz was absolutely adorable in this movie. You could totally pull off the ensemble she was wearing in the 1st act.
I always thought that the spin move he does during the dance at 40:24 was so cool looking
Fun fact:
The comic book series this movie is based on is really really dark, especially since the Mask's cartoon-physics only extends to him, so people die gruesome deaths as a result.
Ipkis isn't even the protagonist for that long, he gets killed by his girlfriend in the end of his story because she grows tired of him being a loser.
.....well, that's just a little bit different/more depressing than this movie, lol.
Check out the movies Major Payne(1995), The Nutty Professor(1996), Rush Hour(1998), Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery(1997), Men In Black(1997), Jumanji(1995), and Mortal Kombat(1995).
I would like to see Natascha cosplay The Mask character!
33:49 The mask doesn't have "attitude", it just brings out the inner you. So for Stanley is the wacky, cartoony, showman and he's getting confidence because of it. The comic book Stanley is just psychotic killer. Oh yeah, the comic this started as is way more violent.
A 10/10 Jim Carrey and comic book movie❤
Treasured since childhood
The perfect way to clue in how The Mask will act, Stanley being a cartoon lover. Also, take a gander at the original comic.
I like that this movie subverts the "dumb, stuck up blonde" routine and shows the "nice" office clothes-wearing intellectual girl to be an actual villain.
Trust me: not a single guy who saw this movie was looking at her eyebrows
@@Darkstar72SR 😂 definitely a woman’s perspective eh? Ahah 🫶
Great reaction! Looking forward to more awesomeness from you!
Thank you!! 😁
I swear it took me an entire season of "In Living Color" before I realized Jim Carry was Firemarshall Billl, that's how good he can contort his face.
I never noticed the Tasmanian Devil cushion before.
he has the little piggies as pictures hung up, the more you look at his appartment the more you see haha
Loved your reaction, so much I subscribed. Glad I found you on here, can't wait for the next one.
Thanks for subbing it means alot ❤️
Great video Nat! ❤ I always laugh everytime I rewatch this movie 😂
It's so good! so glad you enjoyed it with me ❤️
PERFECT reaction. Thank you.
To me, one of Jim Carey's best was "Once Bitten," but this is a close second!
Are you freaking serious??!! Why that movie?? He wasn’t even known yet when he did that movie 😳😵💫
@@nsasupporter7557 The "Hands Off" dance scene. 'Nuff said, yea?
@@brucemaximus3797 yeah, that was good 😊
She-Elf, let me introduce you to a new word...
That’s incorrect… Ace Ventura: Pet Detective was the movie that launched Jim into A list actor.
19:28 he puts the exhaust pipe in the exhaust
This film is too funny, I love seeing this now & then.
"What are they gonna do to me sarge? What are they gonna do?!" 😂😂😂
BTW you're prettier than Cameron Diaz.
pack it innnnnnn 🤣
She has a cuter outfit too.
They call him Cuba feet he’s the king of the Ramba beat…
A great reaction yet again, señorita. Keep on keeping on and Gritos from Tejas.
“…it’s supposed to make you feel… powerful.”
-Stanley Ipkiss
Some deleted scenes explain a few details:
A pre-credit scene had Vikings drop a heavily locked chest into the bay centuries ago, then abandon the whole continent as "cursed."
On his way home from the club, Stanley gets his watch stolen by the street gang, hence the "Actually, no!" and his later targeting of them.
Also, the comic this is based off of was originally a horror comic - the Mask acts like a cartoon, but the world does not, so the classic pratfalls he pulls do...unfortunate things to the bodies of the people around him. (think what a fast-moving mallet or anvil would do to a real person)
I like the movie much better for changing that.
If you love Jim Carrey, you really need to check out Liar Liar, and Bruce Almighty, his two greatest films that never fail to disappoint.
Such a Sweet Ass Reaction to this movie i loved it lol. You got to check him out in;
"Ace Ventura"(1994)
"Dumb & Dumber"(1995)
"Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls"(1995)
"The Cable Guy"(1996)
"Liar Liar"(1997)
"Me,Myself & Irene"(2000)
"Fun with Dick & Jane"(2005)
He will have you rollin on the floor lmao
Lol, seeing Cameron Diaz in this movie as a kid/young teen made me realize "huh....yeah, maybe girls aren't so bad".....she could cause pileups at an intersection.
🤣🤣😍
Milo like; Hhrrrrrrr thats mine 🤣🤣
No one will read this so I can say this.
I LOVE SON OF THE MASK. YES. It's not as good as the first one but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE MUSIC NUMBER!! AND I LOVE THE CGI. TGE STORT. YHE BABY. I LOVE IT ALL
My favorite Jim Carey movies are "Once Bitten", Fun With Dick and Jane, "Bruce Almighty".
Youre so adorable with your reactions. You remind me so much of Emily Blunt, who btw is my favorite actress. I really enjoyed this!
Can't get enough of this movie!
I have to admit that since this is the first video reaction of yours I am watching; I spent half the video trying to place your face. My first thought was Gabrielle Anwar, but I think you are correct, Emily Blunt. Now for the accent, lovely of course; I want to say ...
I love The Mask, another movie of Jim Carrey that is not talked about is The Majestic. It has a bad rating, but I like it.
Just found your channel, and I am loving your reactions!!
Star Wars and The Mask so far. Can’t wait to catch up on the rest.
thank you so much 🥰 i hope you enjoy!
Great react! So glad you enjoyed it, this movie was my childhood 🤣. One issue, I just binged the fallout show and you're doppelganger of the lead actress! I kept hoping you was going to say Okey dokey! 😂😂
Dunno why I said that's an issue 😅
ahah i've seen it all too! and weirdly enough i thought the same thing, when she came on screen i said outloud " awh damn i should have saved this for the channel, we have the same large eyeball me and her" 🤣
I really advise you to discover this film in French voice version, even if you don't understand it is really worth the detour 😆🇨🇵
Oh my god... I have to apologise for not being subscribed to you for such a long time. What a great reaction by a well-spoken, intelligent and radiantly beautiful woman. I can only put the blame on the algorithm for keeping me away for so long.
You should do a reaction to the movie the Devils Advocate with AL Pacino, Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron
@Natascha Summers - Your own voice modulation talents is impressive... most impressive...
I was genuinely surprised at that.
weirdly enough voice work is actually one of my weird and mostly useless skills 🤣

1:02:02 It is indeed! ❤
Peggy got her comeuppance in a deleted scene. She gets flung into the printing machine by Dorian.
Apparently the "Coco Bongo" is the only club in this city, lol.
This was Cameron Diaz's first movie. IMO Me, Myself, and Irene is the best Jim Carrey movie
Still loved the reaction, keep up the great work 👏👍
awh thank you so much, i agree i don't see too many UK channels either for reactions but i am discovering more as I get into it which is lovely 🩷
The crew wanted to do CGI more, but Jim Carey just has that natural face, (i.e as he's taking off the mask he can naturally stretch his skin) so CGI was not needed.
The mask shows his alto ego, something that we all have in us.
some movies you'd love ( will list popular ones so you will still get good views) but i hope the people picking movies for you dont pick nostalgia boomer movies thats not really suited for you or all that great and will be a bust haha

What Natascha ? You’re not cosplaying as Cameron Diaz from The Mask? lol but I hear you on taking a break. 💚
IF YOU DO WATCH ME MYSELF AND IRENE THERE IS AN END CREDIT SCENE AFTER THE CREDITS FOR ME MYSELF AND IRENE!
I don't know what I'd be like as a person without this movie it shaped my personality a lot of people think I'm weird but this is why this movie exists it's a masterpiece by Jim Carrey he made this character possible freaking love this movie❤ Cameron Diaz think remember it is her first big mainstream movie but this movie was very underrated if I remember right it didn't get a falling till it came out on physical media to watch at home and rent which I would do❤ from my middle school days😊
Second best part of this movie is Milo the dog he saves this movie for certain parts especially when you get to see him and you'll know the scene I'm talking about❤
Soooo miss Diaz for your first major movie gig
you will lick the ear of the leading man Enjoy your first day and
welcome to hollywood
Love your reaction to one of my favorite Jim Carrey movies! Your gorgeous face reminds me of Emily Blunt 😍
im glad pepole know now adays who's loki. watching the movie, knowing abit of norse myth i had a blast, but nobody knew who he was back at the 90's and the 2000's
by the way there no such a thing night god unless some god represent the night...
like odin isnt day god and fenryr ain't afternoon wolf...
gods were gods 24/7
This was fun! 😂 i can not even disagree, jim is an absolut top notch actor. I would put Nat in the same category as cameron, 😊
It's still unfathomable to me that he had The Mask, Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber in the same year. He was already active for a decade but boy, what a career breakout.
Yes, his career took off faster than any other movie star’s career. Not even Tom Cruise’s career took off that fast
You are gorgeous too 😊 you give Emily Blunt vibes.
My favorite Jim Carrey movie. Milo is the MVP of this movie...lol
Hi 👋😁 Miss Natascha 😀 As always the like button ✅ has been Illuminated 😁👍👍🤗
😊 thank you
Every woman wants BBD ... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 or BBC 🤣🤣🤣🤣 cracked me up!
A great movie! And this happens in a 'comic universe', so all the people are like normalized with the super heroes and even aliens. For them is like 'normal' to watch crazy things. And you have to watch Who Frame Roger Rabbit (1988) please! So related with this film ;)
oh i actually haven't seen it!
this movie was originally supposed to be a horror movie. they wanted a new horror franchise as the nightmare on elm street franchise was faltering. then jim carrey auditioned and they decided to rewrite the entire script
Love this movie! Milo was the real star. And Cameron D is really quite the cutie.
But don’t sell yourself short Natasha. I think you’re equally as beautiful.
❤❤
Awesome! One of my favorite reactors reacting to one of my favorite movies!
Awh i'm a favouite 🥺❤️ so glad you enjoyed!

thank you so much for watching ❤️
