LYRICS
Well I guess you’re just another raindrop
In the puddle of my pain
Dancing off the rooftops, down the gutter
To the drain
And I’m the bolt of lightning
Tearing through your darkest skies
The storm on the horizon, speaking truth
To all your lies
So thank you for the heartbreak
Thank you for the pain, thank you for the bruises
Thank you for my broken brain
Cuz I made it through the battle stronger than I used to be
And now you’re just an afterthought
You’re just an afterthought to me
After the sad songs of my childhood
You were a warm familiar tune
You cut me deeper than the ocean
Then I poured whiskey in my wounds
Yea you tore me into pieces just to keep your demons fed
You’re not the man my mama prayed for
You’re who the devil sent instead
So thank you for the heartbreak
Thank you for the pain, thank you for the bruises
Thank you for my broken brain
Cuz I made it through the battle stronger than I used to be
And now you’re just an afterthought
You’re just an afterthought to me
… I made it through the battle stronger than i used to be
With the sword of an archangel always there defending me
From the fire on your tongue and the serpent in your eyes
You were always “seeing red” I can’t believe I’m still alive
Trying way too many nights to burn and kill those memories
And now you’re just an afterthought, you’re just an afterthought to me…
Yea I guess you’re just another raindrop in the puddle of my pain

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better -- and when you know Aimee's story -- this hits every note so perfectly. Seriously, a perfect song.
that part "you were always seeing red I can't believe I'm still alive"... gives me so many goosebumps. Aimee is an amazing person, the fact that somebody would treat her badly makes me wanna whoop some ass.
this album is great, so many good songs and complicated emotions put into such simple terms.
this is by far the best song on the album. 11/10.
The opposite of love isn’t hate- it’s indifference.
Amazing song, amazing album.
I think I've just found my favorite one. "Thank you for my broken brain
Cause I made it through the battle stronger than I used to be" ❤
Heard this live at Leeds last night and what an emotional experience. Such emotion , courage, truth and strength needed to perform this song. ❤️
I swear that last "You're just another raindrup in the puddle of my pain" makes tears run down my cheeks every damn time :(
There is no other song I love and hate so much at the same time! Sounds great and makes so sad!
I hope I learn to forgive as you did. Keep being amazing. Love you guys! 🐺❤️
Love this song. It resonates...but so much more the farther you get from the trauma. Aimee just brings it all home with this one.
This one's going at the top of my heartbreak playlist-I feel stronger than I used to be after hearing these words! Love The Interrupters and love this album!!❤
Its crazy but fitting that I find this song now with the current situation I'm in. Thank you universe 🙂
This grew up to be my favorite song of the album. Aimee explained its meaning in a recent interview and it really clicked ever since. Thank you for the heartbreak, indeed.

Just another rain drop
In the puddle of my pain
This is about Scott isn’t it? But it’s one of my faves on the album!
“You were always ‘seein’ red’…” makes it hard to think anything but that.
Don't know why this song reminds me of Jackass 🤣
