That's not 쑥 (Artemisia princeps, mugwort, yomogi), that's 쑥갓 (Glebionis coronaria, crown daisy, chrysanthemum green, shungiku, tonghao). They are different plants. 쑥 is used to make 쑥떡 aka yomogi mochi. 쑥갓 is a vegetable added to dishes and soups like sukiyaki and 꽃게탕
My Boyfriend is hopeless at cooking but one time we watched your vid on nikujaga and wanted to try it out by himself with you as a guide, his dish turned out great! Maybe I can get him to make this next 🤔
I usually watch several different videos when trying a new recipe and I continued to come back to yours because your recipe is easy and delicious overall. I did add a bit of crushed ginger to the sauce as some chefs do, and I used cooked Udon noodles because the noodles you suggested was not available in the store. I seared the meat on one side and set it to the side and added it only at the end when serving the pot because my family likes the meat medium rare. This was a very delicious recipe you presented thank you for your video and hard work.
This was delicious! Just made it with your recipe, minus the greens. (Not available near me) Of all the sukiyaki recipes that I referenced in order to make this today, yours made the most sense. So glad I chose it. Thank you!
I’m a little confused. Crown Daisy and Mugwort are not the same plant. I don’t know the names for them in Korean but this looks like Shungiku (garland chrysanthemum or crown daisy) not yomogi (mugwort)?
i agree i love sukiyaki and often throw a dinner party for friends with lots of vegetables raw egg is must and luckily we get all japanese ingredients in SINGAPORE
This recipe is delicious! We had your Shabu Shabu yesterday and the Sukiyaki today (New Year´s treat), both turned out wonderful and we will have more of them during the winter months. Thank you for sharing and creating such great and homely content, I always feel better after watching your video. The dynamic between you two is so wholesome, all the best for 2021, Happy New Year and all the best.
Daniel you taught me how to love Tofu, I eat braised tofu every week now. I owe you a tagged picture of my braised tofu on IG, will do that next time I upload one. Thank you for the amaaaaazing recipes !!
thank you so much! I'm an American looking to learn to make REAL asian dishes because Japanese and Chinese are some of my favorite cuisines, and I want to learn from people who've actually eaten/cooked these things in the countries they're from. Combined your video with a recipe I found and veganized it. It came out amazing!!!
Hi great thank you for sharing this 🙏🏻 Little hint from a bartender 🙂 when you are heating up the soß... do it without the sugar... add the sugar when it is hot so you don’t have the Problem 😁🤗🍾🥂
Great dish! I believe when it comes to eating the egg yolk in the US look for pasteurized eggs. That way you know they potential bacteria is killed off :). Great video
Looks delicious, I wanna try making it. I’ll wait for the recipe. I need it because I’m from Canada 🇨🇦 so i can take a look for alternative ingredients Incase I couldn’t find. Thank you
Dan-Yul!! I’m so happy to be back in your kitchen. As always you bring us great recipes. I could never imagine that I could make this Japanese iconic food in my own kitchen. I love ❤️ Sukiyaki and you made it so easy and simple for us. Thank you so much. You are so sweet, and kind and always bring a big smile to my face. Blessings to you!!
I made this! It's delicious! Quick question: Should the shiitake mushrooms be fresh or dried? I suppose they're fresh otherwise it would be difficult to carve a star pattern.
New subbie and enjoying your channel. Especially like how you integrate some Japanese too. Been cooking korean/Asian only for 4 months (immersion theory)and loving it. Wish you guys were my neighbors. Thank you so much.
Hey dannee😝😝😝😘.I'm chris.Presentation of this japanese receipe is very Fabuolous 👋👋👋👌👌👌👌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏.Keep it up.I like spring onion & ramen with egg & also tofuuu very much in doing korean & ur japanese receipes❤❤❤❤.Love from india chennai🇮🇹🇮🇹💜💜💜💜💜
Oh man! I was just planning to try cooking this this week anyway - this video must have been fate! Looks really good and I'll have to try that egg trick!
So I don't really have a gas stove to put on the table here and they're not that easy to find, can I put something else there to heat up the pot without having to walk to the stove top all the time?
Hello 👋 👋 👋 👋 Daniel, Japanese sukiyaki, so tasty 😋 😍 😀 😄 😊 💕 😋 😍 I like it 👌 😋 😀 😄 😊 ♥ 👌 😋 and Hong Kong 😄 😄 😄 observatory weather forecaster Chong Sze Ning like to eat this 😄 😊 💖

Barnali, I agree! These two are lovely, and their food is super. Tell your friends!
"Little tattoos" I love your analogies!!! Making this for the hubby. He likes sukiyaki. I don't make it often enough.

Tried this recipe today but without a sake ( I used rice wine vinegar) turns out really good 😊
This looks great and doable for a novice like me
AHH FINALLY I LOVED SUKIYAKI LIKE SAW SOME PICTURES ONCE HOWEVER NEVER GOT THE RIGHT RECIPE OR MAYBE A GOOD ONE BUT SEEMS LIKE IT IS FINALLY HEAR
This was delicious! Just made it with your recipe, minus the greens. (Not available near me) Of all the sukiyaki recipes that I referenced in order to make this today, yours made the most sense. So glad I chose it. Thank you!
You guys should open a restaurant, I have tried so many of your recipes and they have all been incredible. I can't wait to try this.
I love your recipes! I try a new one each week to add to my rotation.
I'm glad the raw egg made an appearance at the end! Not sukiyaki without it!
Great...this recipe was simple and easy to make...
Comfort food is so important! I have these noodles sitting in my pantry since ... like ... forever! Think I‘ma try that! 😀👍🏻
I’m a little confused. Crown Daisy and Mugwort are not the same plant. I don’t know the names for them in Korean but this looks like Shungiku (garland chrysanthemum or crown daisy) not yomogi (mugwort)?
I got hungry when you just explained it. 🤣
I cant wait to try this!! I have never seen this on any other cooking channels that I follow
Thanks for the recipe!

Tofu is a great source of alternative protein! Happy you liked it - great to make part of your regular diet ;)

Thanks for the comment! Happy that you're watching (and cooking along) with us. Cheers to you from Korea!
FYI, you're not looking for ssuk, you're looking for ssukgat, crown daisy greens, not mugwort. In Japanese, it's shungiku.
I made this! It's delicious! Quick question: Should the shiitake mushrooms be fresh or dried? I suppose they're fresh otherwise it would be difficult to carve a star pattern.
Looks so delicious 😋 thank you will make it this weekend 🍲
Ohhhh that looks so yummy. I am definitely going to make that

corean sukiyaki !!
3:18 I love your recipe.
as good as this looks, what are you guys' recommendations if you're vegetarian and also not allowed to cook with alcohol >>
Made this today 🙌🙌🙌
is that Chrysanthemum or Mugwort? are they the same or different?
Oh man! I was just planning to try cooking this this week anyway - this video must have been fate! Looks really good and I'll have to try that egg trick!
Suki!- Suki!- Sukiyaki!
What alternatives for these noodles you recommend?
Hey daniel👋
So hard to find these ingredients in a small town
So I don't really have a gas stove to put on the table here and they're not that easy to find, can I put something else there to heat up the pot without having to walk to the stove top all the time?
Can I use rice noodles or maifun noodles for this?
Where can we find this ingredients?
love it
I'm allergic to mushrooms can you leave it out
Will that hot pot be used on electric stoves or do you just recommend it be used on gas stoves only?
This specific hot pot is for gas stoves only
Can anyone tell me if shiritaki is supposed to be crunchy/hard? I’ve had sukiyaki at restaurants and they are always very soft. What am I missing?
Ugh i wanna make this sooo bad but currently suffering from salmonella poisoning....
간장은 진간장인가요 양조간장인가요?
Do shirataki noodles expand like other glass noodles?
No. They don’t really absorb much liquid. I would blanche them before using because they sometimes have a bad smell.
卵が好き!凄い
初めに焼きつけるのは初めて見ます。豆腐以外は必要ではないのでは?
It seems like the UA-cam app updated with a 4D feature because I smelled the sukiyaki throughout the whole video 🤔??
I like to eat sukiyaki, Japanese sukiyaki, Hong Kong Observatory weather forecaster Chong Sze Ning like to eat this too 😹😹😹
❤wow😊
Sukiyaki is Hella pog😎
쩝~~ 맛있겠다 ^^
please show the name of seasoning on screen, thanks
2/3 cup mirin, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 3tbsp sake/chungju, 2tbps sugar.
*It's all because of you, I'm feeling sad and blue*
Hello 👋 👋 👋 👋 Daniel, Japanese sukiyaki, so tasty 😋 😍 😀 😄 😊 💕 😋 😍 I like it 👌 😋 😀 😄 😊 ♥ 👌 😋 and Hong Kong 😄 😄 😄 observatory weather forecaster Chong Sze Ning like to eat this 😄 😊 💖
2:39 The pot is sooooo korean lmao
What is the name of the noodles?
Shiritaki
Be careful with mugwort if you're prone to nightmares!!!
Me, I don't like sukiyaki, it's too sweet LOL Those are shimeji mushroom. Where's your raw egg
They used raw egg at the end! Didnt you see?
I am not sure I could do the raw egg part. Now if I fried the egg I would dip the yolk. 🤔
Good....
3:18 lol
Taste a lot better if you have the raw egg
Be careful if you’re pregnant or trying to conceive, mugwort can cause miscarriages! But fantastic recipe as usual, thanks Daniel!
I think he misspoke, that isn’t mugwort. It’s garland chrysanthemum or crown daisy. They aren’t the same plant like he indicated early in the video.
@@adbreon oops! Thanks for clearing that up! My bad
That's called Syunngiku (春菊) in Japanese.
Gahhh you forgot the raw egg!!
