Great job - very well done. I really enjoyed watching you put it together. One of the reasons why I'd also have a regular push mower is that I need to get all the exercise I can - pushing a mower around would be a good workout! I know as I pushed plenty of mowers when I was younger! Then we got a lawn tractor with a 48" swath... then we sat pretty and I didn't get as much exercise except when I went around with the push mower to touch up the edges. Well done, sir! I commend you!
Very nice build. These are great to have. No more walking in a dust cloud getting your feet full of grass! I made one years back and plan to build a few for the neighbors next. Thanx for sharing.
Good idea on your part! I was thinking if he could somehow tap off the gas engine to spin an alternator to keep those lead acid batteries topped off and make it more self-maintaining. No big deal to pop it on the charger after a day's cutting, though.
I made one similar and i had the push/pull fan setup as well. Inhad a ton ofndirt snd grass inside my project box so i added some small air filters on the outside. Good job!
You are a prime candidate for ardupilot rover automation. . . Very nice work, and thoughtful use of non jigs where a jig would not be necessary. Nice welds on thin material of mower deck!
@@thefreedomguyuk that's not true, there are rtk robotic lawnmowers that use 2 gps antennas to achieve pretty exact positioning. Check Segway Navimow robots!
great build ,fun project ,and over engineered built to last , total back saver , i might just get round to building one for myself one day )) thanks for sharing
impresionante manejo de herramientas! felicitaciones. Me pregunto porque no utilizó la polea de autopropulsión para la tracción o para cargar las baterias?
nice job! Looks like increasing final drive ratio (lower Gearing) will increase control of feed rate and tracking! Likely be easier on speed controllers as well.
Well f me !!! I'm in love that's friggin awesome !!! Next it'll have a GPS tracker using weigh points to do the lawn alone while you're building something else RC or having a beer watching football !!! Whaahoo 🤪🙃😎 NZ
What great idea wish you lived closer to me I’d get you to make me one as cutting grass on wrist crutches not easy and cost so much to have grass cut once month well done great watching you make it as well 👍👍👍
GREAT!!! but this does hardly qualify for "home made" with the level of tools available to you, which is exceptional! Perfect skills on all levels and then suddenly, you cut a hole in a junctionbox with a Dremel? Very nice result in the end, hope Version2 will be GPS-guided 🙂 I followed all your proposed links in the text below, none of them work anymore (in EU that is)
hi; which part is it that starts the engine when you turn the key and that you can control with the remote control. is there a connection diagram in addition?
Well done brother. Lotta knowledge and effort went in to that. Did you write out a plan? Or, just as you went along. How did you know how a RC machine worked? I like to know the thinking behind a build. Great job! I now a large sloped yard. I’m 65. That would be perfect for me!
I used a motor with a battery charging function. Charging is from a coil and is much too weak to meet the current consumption, but significantly lengthens the work. The test I did was carried out without taking breaks for charging,
@@InfinityGarage-ig8pyGot it. But still as a side project belt driven alternator would work. The engine seems powerful enough to meet the demand of both nowing and charging
Nice, i had this ideal for years and years, never did it though. I also think it would be great to install memory chips to record your commands and this way once you have it record the way you want it to be mowing your lawn by it recording your movements(commands from your remote) hit the save button and then now next time the lawn needs mowing you just hit the automatic button and it will use that recording of commands and follows it the exact way you mowed it. This way you don't have to sit there and control it every last time you use it. But it will probably need some kind of homing device so it can be sure it is still aligned. A device that checks the distance x and y to make sure it is still aligned to your programmed saved commands in the real world. I have this ideal for those AI mowers. I think the AI mowers make the lawn look like shit riding in circles and back and forth over the same grass, etc...instead have a remote and steer the thing how you want it to be mowed, and then hit save. Now the AI don't have to pretend it is a genius, it can just follow your commands. But like i said it still needs to know it is on track in the real world by checking its x and y coordinates with the commands and make sure they match.
Use battery instead of fuel to silence and lower the blades for a closer shave otherwise good job. Use the electronics from a house cleaning robot to make it wofk on it's own.
He did install as mulching blade, you can see the notches on each side of the blade. The problem is you're only supposed to mulch down a quarter length of the grass at a time that's why it's bunching. After this mow he can do it more often and it will mulch well.
Excellente réalisation. Je désirerais connaître les références des moteurs et des pièces électroniques utilisées pour la télécommande. Merci pour votre retour. Thierry
Looks great but I would have found a riding mower and used that big cutting deck and motor that could put all the power into cutting only and the rest would work the same but it would devour the high grass and cut your time in half! Pun intended. And I would sit inside in the air conditioning and have some iced tea! 😂
Just my 2-cents as an uneducated individual with 0 experience in this sort of thing (though a massive interest). Would the bigger tires not be better placed at the front on the same motor and then a single tire on the rear that controls direction so that you dont have a scenario where you may give un-equal speed and can properly go straight?
That's a really trick machine, dude. I think a trio of vidcams would do the accuracy some real good. One to back up, one on each of the front wheels to guide the cutting row accuracy, with a switch to change channels = you're sweet. What was the cost of goodies sans the mower deck? How long do the 3 batteries last? Does anyone know of a spray or coating which can make the deck less sticky to cut grass pieces?
Great build but the steering is a hell, the caster wheels are waaaay to far from the driving wheels, who are standing close to each other. The slightest steering correction will have a huge swing . You migt indeed want to add gps for smoother riding.
I won't hide the fact that my electrical and wiring skills are quite poor. I connected everything using the instructions that came with the RC controllers. The engine was equipped with an electric starter and battery charging, so it made my work much easier, the only thing I improved was to add a current fuse to the connection of each regulator, and I used a main switch which I connected to the relays :)
This is my second channel, on this channel I publish older videos without music and with previously unpublished video shots :)
Didn't you get any warning from youtube for uploading these videos 2 times?
I've known someone whose gotten a DUI on a lawnmower but I wonder if you could get one piloting a RC mower.
😂😂genial
so what are you saying

Great! The height adjustment is simply sensational.
I made one with a pulley off the blade shaft that runs a 24v alternator no need to charge batteries again. Nice job!
Good idea on your part! I was thinking if he could somehow tap off the gas engine to spin an alternator to keep those lead acid batteries topped off and make it more self-maintaining. No big deal to pop it on the charger after a day's cutting, though.
Use the engine with charge çoil's, then use the rectafier and regulator to charge the batteries!

Very nice! I like the ruggedness and ingenuity of your creations - it reminds me a little bit of the A - Team 😊
Thank you 😁
Excellent , I would be incy bit worried at the motor not ceasing going over the long grass weeds stuff with all the extra added weight
Thanks for the links in the description, that is super helpful for learning!!! Great project, yours is the best rc mower out there!
Thank you 😁
I like it....... What about a small solar panel with a charge controller to keep the batteries topped off between use....
Just need the GPS guidance system 😁

GPS will not provide sufficient precision.
@@thefreedomguyuk that's not true, there are rtk robotic lawnmowers that use 2 gps antennas to achieve pretty exact positioning.

@@thefreedomguyuk You'll need an rtk signal, that will bring precision down to 2cm, if you have a solid reciever and your own base station.
@@saveriog.825 You can add 10 GPS antennas , it wont give you a better accuracy, you need a correction signal from a base station .
Depends on your location, in some countries there are correction providers

This is awesome! It does look a little expensive to build unless you already have most of the parts.
Замечательно! Но надо бы выровнять участок трактором.
I like it but you have to sharpen the blade, love it.
The blade was brand new I believe
What a great build.simple strong and effective.love your work.

Thank you. This is still my first RC machine, there are still many things I need to learn :) If you build RC planes it's amazing :)
That has got to be the best thing I've seen on UA-cam!
Minimum cost £450, before steel etc
Really?
Here take my credit card, when can I expect delivery? Great job man!
yep
nice job! Looks like increasing final drive ratio (lower Gearing) will increase control of feed rate and tracking! Likely be easier on speed controllers as well.
You need to add a charging-port in your garage and a wireless-engine-start functionality!
All you need to do now is have the mower engine recharge the batteries, then its a proper hybrid.
Hello mister beautifully made good job well done
Thank you 😁
Brilliant design! Bravo.
Out frickin standing!
But hit the mower blade edge with an angle grinder, them blades are dull af from the mfg.

Why not put some type of alternator to recharge battery when the engine is running?
