I don't know if anyone told you but sibling puppies can be a problem together, they tend to fight. We have learned that the hard way, we adopted two siblings and we've had them for five years and they fight at least two to four times a month. We have had some success with shock collars, the beep seems to get their attention. Ask about that issue.
@@chrismag5259 I have two half sisters, born the same day! They are doing great, maybe because they had different mother's? Would I ever get two puppies at the same time again? HECK NO!
Yes that's probably the right amount of time. Some dogs do better if the treats are only partially frozen (so they are easier to get out) while others do great with full frozen. Note which one seems to be better for your pup!
On the mixing the kibble bits with water it would be super helpful full if you would include ratios of food water. I seem to have added too much water it took mine forever to get soft even with warm water and now it's draining out the bottom before I can even put it in the freezer
GREAT ideas! I’ve been using cheese but concerned it’s too much. I’ll be getting a couple more Kong’s to fill with some of these ideas and have readily frozen!! Awesome 👏

Hello Michele you are talking about putting the kong in dish washer !!!Is it hygienic and safe to mixed dog 🐕 stuff with the human without any risk of illness.Sorry for asking as I’ve got no idea and want someone as experience like you to the me .Thanks.😉
Thanks so much for all your videos! I’ve been binge watching and learning so much before we get our new puppy in a few weeks. I do want to make home a fun and happy dog to be with.
My dog at year doesn't seem to like frozen anymore but I chill in fridge. I don't think his teeth are hurting, he did pick up a piece of ice outside but just leaves the bowls. Loves his lick mat though. Taking a break with Toppl bowls for a few weeks. He loves baby food and I like they are less sugar usually.
We recommend monitoring your puppy as he explores playing with a Kong! He can be in the crate with it as long as you have eyes on your pup. Your pup will probably eat it before it gets messy!
Frozen Kongs are great for puppies in crates, but you do want to make sure that the Kong is not too small that it can become a choking hazard. We don't know if she'll have an accident or not, as we don't know the set up you have for her, nor her daily routine or environment!
Hi! Quick question about the xylitol in PB. Would the label in the back specifically say it has Xylitol in it. I have a peanut butter that doesn’t say “natural” but says no added preservatives, no artificial flavors or colors and on the back it is simple natural products, does not say xylitol! Just wondering!! Thanks for all these ideas!
Hmm, peanut butter on the carpet, and what about the effects of new foods on a puppy's tummy... good to hear some foods prevent diarrhoea! Do you recommend filled Kongs every day for a teething puppy?
We definitely recommend kongs for a teething puppy - it lasts a long time and is great for sore gums! We also have a whole video on best chew toys for teething pups, you can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/C4PeZUzRMag/v-deo.html
How do puppies get the items out of the kong? We have a 20 week old Havanese and have a puppy/small kong. The hole is so small I don't see how they can get stuff out except just to lick what is coming out of the hole.
Another pup trainer I’ve watched always recommends the size above what you believe is the right size for your pup, just so the hole is more accessible and gets them interested quicker!
You can start with one ingredient when they first come home. Add one ingredient every few days, which allow you to watch for any kind of negative reaction.
👍❤️ I liked the banana and apple, yogurt. Can you use natural almond butter instead of peanut butter? How about apple slices or half a banana coated with peanut butter and frozen?
We are glad you found this video helpful! We recommend consulting your vet about almond butter. While it is considered safe if there are no additives or extra salt, it can be difficult for dogs to digest. Apples are okay as long as they have no seeds and bananas are safe.
Thanks for all the ideas! I was going to try the chicken sticks, but I noticed there was onion and garlic salt in the ingredient list. Would this hurt my puppy?
You are right, it's really important to check the ingredients. Avoid giving your dog foods that contain onion and garlic. When this video was filmed, those sticks were OK, but they may have changed the ingredients since that time.
Great ideas for some Kong filler recipes. I want to make one of these for my puppy before my family comes over to visit. It might be a good distraction while everyone is coming into the house and getting settled in.
Thanks for the tip on peanut butter, I didn't know that! Do you recommend a waiting period to see how they poop, allergies, etc. I only have 9 wk old Lab so am hesitant to do too much too soon. He doesn't like crate but eats there and I'm hoping maybe a tasty treat will have him explore it longer

Do u guys think the medium sized classic Kong is the right size for an 8 week german shepherd? They said to size up and I wanted it to be larger rather than too small, but now I’m not sure if it’s the right size... any tips
You can start with one new food at a time, waiting a few days before another new food. This allows you to see any stomach upset. Most of the time the puppy is interested in food after a few days or a week in his/her new home.
Thanks for all your videos you’re wonderful! Just wondering if you do all the training with your puppies food and then you give them Kong balls with more food it just seems like a lot of food. Picked up our new puppy a Havanese his name is Charlie.. very picky just grazing his dry food which I bought because recommended by breeder it’s Fromms puppy food. Also did the Kong bought a small size he likes the peanut butter but that’s it..he’s 8 weeks ..any suggestions?
Hi Vickie, thanks for watching! If you're unsure on what foods your specific puppy can or can't have, we'd recommend speaking with your vet. Each puppy is different, and Goldens are prone to allergies, but this doesn't always mean they can't have some of these yummy things too! But speak to your vet and get their input on your pup to be safe.
If your puppy is very young he may still be overwhelmed with the transition and it could take awhile before he likes treats. Try the soft, moist kind, which you can break into smaller pieces. Or, while he's still getting used to his new home, you can use praise, play or petting as your reward (depending on what seems to motivate him).

It depends on your puppy! You can always start with the puppy kong and use a regular Kong as they get older and have the ability to work on more difficult tasks.
Don’t baby food or yogurt become super messy and get all over your house? Or do you only give the Kong in a crate or pen or outside where the mess is contained or minimized?
That's a great way to keep it contained. Puppies are messy so changing your mindset and expectations can be helpful too!

You can try it in small quantities and see if he/she likes it and make sure it doesn't cause any stomach upset.

Do u guys think the medium sized classic Kong is the right size for an 8 week german shepherd? They said to size up and I wanted it to be larger rather than too small, but now I’m not sure if it’s the right size... any tips
What age would you start puppies on these recipes?
You can start with one new food at a time, waiting a few days before another new food. This allows you to see any stomach upset. Most of the time the puppy is interested in food after a few days or a week in his/her new home.
How long do you freeze the kong after putting in fillers? Are you looking for a soft freeze or is hard ok?
Each Kong and freeze times will be different, but we recommend a hard freeze for them to lick on - it will last longer!

( or treats) Especially when you need to give it to them because they’re biting and especially if it’s a very small puppy that is not supposed to eat that much. How do you work around that?
I subtract out from my puppies meals and use that inside the Kong and for training games. I don't overfeed as dogs can easily get overweight.
Doesn’t it get all over the place, the food I mean.

Each puppy is different, and Goldens are prone to allergies, but this doesn't always mean they can't have some of these yummy things too! But speak to your vet and get their input on your pup to be safe.
How can I train my puppy if it doesn't like any treats? I have 5 bags of different kinds of treats.
@@HowToTrainADreamDog I found out that cheerios are ok for the puppy as snacks. She loves them.
