It's weird how lighthearted children's shows can have such dark fanbases, and then shows that are very dark and serious (Like Breaking Bad) can have lighthearted fanbases
How in the world at 36 years old do you find the time to write an entire self insert fanfiction about a kids show, and keep it going for 1,000+ chapters?
Don't forget that when the live action cast was announced, there were a lot of Loud House fans who tracked these ACTUAL CHILDREN down and began messaging them and drooling all over them and posting personal info about them on Twitter. It was insane.
Fun fact: the Loud House fanficition is actually much much longer clocking in roughly around 31 million words. The site actually gave up counting as it relied in a base equation to handle it so was stuck at 16 million

It's strange how the child-aimed comedy show about a boy and his dozens of sisters gets a fanbase on par with other toxic fanbases of modern animation both western and Japanese (I.E. Bronies, RWBY Stans, Hazbintards and Church of Suletta Mercury Cultists) if not _moreso,_ but the crime drama about a man becoming a criminal with the plot being about how he falls further and further into despair ends up getting the fandom that lovingly discusses and pokes fun at it. Weird.
The comic's premise was built around a pun. The main character "Eddie Puss" is named after the psychological anomaly known as the Oedipus Complex, wherein a child recognizes a parent or guardian as an obstacle to gaining affection from the opposite parent/guardian. Eddie having the hots for his own mom is a very extreme version of the concept. His mother never reciprocates his advances in the comic, as she's too oblivious to notice it; it's mostly one-sided. On a conceptual level stuff like that typically doesn't bother me, especially in a humorous context. But even before Chris Savino's outing, the Eddie Puss comic kinda gave me bad vibes. Oh and to answer the other reply here, the crossover with Gumball was a swinger joke.
@@sassyimps "on a conceptual level stuff that typically doesn't bother you" and yet it gives you a bad vibe. So what's the point writing that sentence? It doesn't bother you but it does, getting really confused 🤔 in what your saying in a "conceptual level." Also the swinger joke of the amazing world of gumball very much terrible joke.
i'm not surprised the show about a boy and his tons of sisters got a creepy fanbase, a plot like that is pretty much weirdo bait, but i'm still disappointed
It's crazy how fandoms are usually a complete 180 of the contents of a show. The Loud House is a completely innocent kids show about a huge family and the fandom turns out like this Then you have Breaking Bad, a show about a high school chemistry teacher turned meth cook, who is involved in gangs, murders, everything in the book, and the fandom is like "Jesse, we need to build my princess play castle so our lego figures have a fortress to defend in the war."
I think that it is partially due to Breaking Bad being a meme. The same applies to Family Guy. A show that is known for tasteless shock humour and edgy jokes. While the fandom just makes edits of Peter Griffin as different characters and memes that parody the tasteless humour of the newer episodes.
It's most media, from what I've seen. Stuff like Dark Souls, Berserk, Breaking Bad, etc usually have a really goofy fanbase to counteract the darkness of the material. Meanwhile more innocent media (Steven Universe, Animal Crossing, Splatoon, etc) have volatile fanbases, to say the least.
Some innocent media like Mario and SpongeBob have a pretty calm fandom. The only time I remember the Mario fandom being bad outside of Paper Mario was when critics hated the Super Mario Bros. Movie.@@ryanleatigaga7596

Loud House fandom: The USSR bombs Lincoln's house and brutally shoots and kills every member of his family Breaking Bad: Jesse, we must buy matching dresses
This reminds me of the time I read a Loud House fanfic where: - Lincoln and his sisters traveled back in time in Nazi Germany - They helped a bunch of Polish resistance fighters in the Warsaw Uprising - It was narrated by a little Polish Jewish girl that Lynn and Luan saved from a concentration camp - Leni developed a crush on a SS soldier - It ended with the Loud siblings returning back to their time with a bunch of kids they rescued from various concentration camps (Including the narrator girl) and sending them to an orphanage, where they lived a family ever after The worst part about this was that my half German half Polish friend read this fanfic and was so horrified that she deleted her Wattpad account
And as if this fandom couldn't get any worse, they now sent vile harrassment towards Cartoonshi over him criticizing the show. Over a damn kids’ show is crazy 😐
I feel sorry for the normal people in the fandom. The toxic ones are always the loudest (pun intended) and they typically give the whole fandom a bad name. Edit: I did NOT expect this comment to blow up.
Sadly, I'm one of the normal people in the TLH fandom. As a guy who had two, TWO autographs from Cristina Pucelli (aka Luan Loud), it's really hard for us normies in the fandom to see that these people exist. At one point I cringe on someone's "comic" of shipping Sam with Lincoln and turned into something very criminal in particular: Statutory rape without consent as Sam is 15-16 while Lincoln is 12 with Sam being the one committing rape towards Lincoln that caused her to be pregnant. Another thing with that ship, Sam is a lesbian and is Luna's girlfriend and that idiot who made a so called "comic" sounded more like lesbiphobia by all means.
@@RealGilbertGan I got into the Loud House show because until I saw the series finale of Adventure Time, and 2017 Beauty and the Beast I never saw a kids show mentioning lgbt(Spongebob: *exist* Me: Openly LGBT)so when I saw a Nickelodeon show that featured two gay dads I was stoked. The show itself is pretty good. I still watch it on occasions but it's not my 100% favorite. Its just fine. The fandom is deplorable
As an aspiring writer, I dread anything I make gaining a fandom and creepy people invading it. You literally can’t create anything involving child characters or family members without some people being disgusting about it. You could create the most wholesome and sfw story in the world, and there would still be a “that one part of the fandom”
A seasoned writer here, and I'm telling you now that such a thing will usually be realized one way or another. So you may as well publish your work and let the fear wash over you as it's inevitable. Lily is more grown up most of the time though. At least they don't make him have intercourse with a baby, but it's still disgusting@snappythesnapster1856
Thinking about it for a bit, I think TLH fandom was doomed to fail. You've got a cartoon entirely marketed for children, which unlike Spongebob, doesn't have that built-in audience / quality barrier of adults who grew up with the show, nor is it something like a Regular Show that actually appeals to adults. The direct consequence of that being that the only people intimately familiar with the show are dumb children and creepy adults, both groups pretty notorious for being into the weirdest shit and not being good at picking up on social cues. On top of that, every single important character is underage, maybe not the older two based on state laws but I'm not dying on that hill, a large chunk of said cast is related to one another, far more important female characters than male, and the world the characters live in is just realistic enough (no inherently absurdist or fantastical aspects to serve as a distraction from real world struggles, while at the same time there's this desire to veer away from the ordinary and expected). Combine all of the above with various fandom laws / trends (e.g. character shipping is often related to proximity, R34 is inevitable), there was no way the fandom wasn't gonna be insanity

It's crazy how an adult animated parody of kid's shows with cutesy characters (Happy Tree Friends) and a dark crime drama that so many people have brought up already (Breaking Bad) have less disturbing fandoms than The Loud House. It's weird how some of the most "wholesome" fandom memes I've seen were from shows that are pretty dark and serious. Why do lighthearted shows have such creepy fandoms!? 😨
Because breaking bad fans only care about the memes and iconic moments. Happy tree friends fans are there for nostalgia and the interesting cast of characters

I’m surprised you never mentioned the NSFW fanfic about Luan going insane and literally killing multiple of her sisters and other characters in order to.. “have” Lincoln. The scenes were brutal too, like beating Ronnie Ann to death with her own bat, and I believe Luan tied Lynn to a chair in front of a sewage drainage pipe and let her drown while watching. Author was arrested for child nsfw too because of the story. The rabbit hole of the demented side of this fandom never ends, and I’ve lost days to digging through it since I loved the show when it first came out.
They got _arrested_ because of the fanfic by itself? Yikes... I didn't know that was a thing that could happen, and I've seen/read some really bad stuff

God that was like. The tamest thing here for me Tho tbf i have met kids irl who have been drunk. Not that its a good thing but its certainly not completely unrealistic
Maybe a reason why a show like this attracts this kind of fanfiction is because it is the opposite of what the show does. I have always thought of fanfiction as being focused on things that would not happen in the source material primarily. It is a lot easier than trying to keep up with the lore, too.
I learned from reviewer Sarcastic Chorus that there exists a Disney Channel show where a 15 y/o girl is officially paired up with a 30+ year old man (inside the body of his 14y/o self) and it's just....baffling that a group of people wrote, storyboarded, animated, voiced something like that.
@@paolarei4418 I watched the show back when i was like 12, my memory of the the situation was basically that the guy (Marco) actually WAS 14yrs old, then he got stuck in a dimension where time ran differently. From his perspective like 16 years had gone by and he'd aged accordingly, meanwhile back on Earth he'd only been gone for like 10 minutes. When he came back to Earth at the end of the episode he de-aged back into a 14 yr old, but still had all his memories from the other dimension. This made it a bit weird when he and Star (the main character and 15yr old girl in question) got together at the end of the show but his mental age was never addressed in canon. The crew tried to retcon it by saying Marco's memory of the whole thing felt like more of a dream so he hadn't really aged, but in later episodes when they went back to that dimension he re-aged into a 30something year old so imo its still quite iffy. I don't think the intentions behind it were bad but man it was definitely not thought through

Out of all the horrors I knowingly put myself through watching this, the "jailbait" quote still made me stop everything I was doing out of sheer confusion/disgust
Anyone who calls a minor jailbait is understandably disturbing. Once saw several accounts on tiktok from grown ass men thirsting after a visibly preteen girl because she had lip gloss. Y'know, the sparkly stuff children are known for putting on. Gross.
It's insane to me that based off my experiences, the Desperate Housewives, Veronica Mars and the Puppet Combo fandom, none of them have been as deranged as the Loud House. Like Desperate Housewives, Veronica Mars and Puppet Combo all are based around technically more dramatic and/or violent content, but the fans are typically way less deranged fans than the people watching kids' shows, made by creeps.
That's a running trend I've noticed as I'm a fan of shows such as The Sopranos, Criminal Minds, and House M.D. with all the fanbases I just described having significantly more light hearted fandoms compared to that of shows aimed at children.

Weird.
Chris Savino himself made a furry webcomic about a cat kid and his mom getting "close", so I guess the ick radiates directly from the source
Why is there a crossover with the amazing world of gumball 💀

It's crazy how fandoms are usually a complete 180 of the contents of a show.
The Loud House is a completely innocent kids show about a huge family and the fandom turns out like this
Then you have Breaking Bad, a show about a high school chemistry teacher turned meth cook, who is involved in gangs, murders, everything in the book, and the fandom is like "Jesse, we need to build my princess play castle so our lego figures have a fortress to defend in the war."

It probably because of lack of children in those type of fandoms. Or idk.
Nah I know for a fact that the happy tree friends fandom is pretty terrible, or at least it was a couple of years ago when I used to interact with it
To be fair, the Loud House children aren't chopping up eyeballs of other characters in an incredibly disturbingly drawn-out fashion.
Because breaking bad fans only care about the memes and iconic moments. Happy tree friends fans are there for nostalgia and the interesting cast of characters
Ren and Stimpy is another example. It's considered one of the most vile and extreme kids shows ever aired, yet most of the fanbase is just like: "I like Stimpy he's cute :))"

Maybe a reason why a show like this attracts this kind of fanfiction is because it is the opposite of what the show does. @@paolarei4418 Or just throw out the whole idea in general

You've never come across a Joker, or a Scarface fan, have you?
@@na-ky8ou i generally avoid joker wannabes, because they tend to be weird, in one way or another, and not manage to grasp and copy the lovable nature of the Joker from the Lego Batman movie, who I personally enjoy far more
@@na-ky8ouwho would want to? People that based their whole personality and even world view on characters like joker and Patrick bateman, ignoring nuance and how the characters are meant to be/generally shitty people, are weird. Nobody wants to be around a joker stan, unironic or ironic.
The more traumatising the content, the chiller the fandom.
im so fucking caught up with the fact that THE LONGEST PEICE OF WRITING EVER CREATED IS A FUCKING LOUDHOUSE FANFIC LIKE WHAT THE FUCK
Hold on, gimme 2 years.
Why isn't it something good... Like Fate for instance...
@@John-Stark if it was the hoyoverse (basically it contains fate and other series so kinda the same thing) It could've been x100 better
@@paolarei4418 Hoyoverse is Genshin and Star Rail, Fate is Nasuverse
@@GODINCARNATE-op9eb the longest piece of writing is a fic about a 30 year old turning 15 and living amongst kids
Im genuinely gonna kill myself
As someone whose never seen a single episode I had to pause a few times bc i wad laughing too hard. What could this show have possibly awoken in people?
As someone who had seen a few episodes before
I had NO idea either...
Is it a surprise a kids' show with a majority of kid characters attracts pedophiles to it?
Especially since the characters are drawn like a cross between chibis and pool noodles 💀
Sibling characters
@@banjofangirl3458They took the Sweet Home Alabama meme too seriously
i genuinely can't tell if the thumbnail is just edited for this video or is it's just another one of those unnecessarily angsty pieces of fanart from this community
this is how bad this community is holy shit
As someone who has been on the internet for a while, this fandom really isn't the worst one out there. Or even the worst kids show fandom.
Not to say it isn't bad, but most fandoms have some wack shit in them somewhere.
I think the major problem with that one which even addressed on a video is that all the whack stuff is easily search and on the surface even if you didn’t looked for it specifically. Honestly it’s a problem that LH, MLP and Sonic fandoms share. And I am part of the second one and dipped my toes into first ones r34 part so I speak from experiences.
@@mrksimka1159 Well. Yeah. A vast majority of fandoms have their NSFW very open to see, and easily found if you at all follow tags on social media or look at it on a search engine.
The problem is when people exaggerate how bad one fandom is in relation to others.
agreed. its definitely confusing why theres so much angst in the loud house fandom, but its rly nothing absurd in comparison to the entirety of fandom as a concept
When I reached 18 I suddenly stopped watching and engaging with the fandom. Guess my whole body knew it wouldn't be acceptable to continue that row
