Today I'll be covering an annoying thorn in literally everybody's side that has only gotten worse in the past couple years. The concept of transfur has exploded in popularity, and, today, I want to discuss its origins and its effects on the broader internet.

It's been a kink/fetish long before Roblox and Roblox transfur stuff. It's been a thing since before digital artwork and FurAffinity were things. The classic TF intererst/fetish is werewolves, but it's grown beyond were stuff.

Virtually anything can be kink if one presents it in a sexualized manner.
To be fair, this was a problem back in early 2020 as well. The creator, DragonSnow hated the fact that people are making his game into Roblox. He knows full well that these types of stuff shouldn't be in Roblox.
Now, I know TWO times where the original devs didn’t like their game being recreated on Roblox.

As a person who has known about these for like 3 years now, I'm happy somebody spoke up about it, it indirectly exposes children and teens to straight up fetishes and pornography just cause kids are curious.

Changed was never meant for kids.
Age restriction exists for reasons.
I don’t consider all forms of “transfurmation” to be fetish-related.
Changed uses latex and latex gets fetishized a lot and due the game’s nature I’d consider it an adult game.
Although, since everything can be sexualized, I don’t think the concept of a game where you have to avoid getting transformed should be banned, it can be a fun concept.
But there are different ways to implement it that are less suggestive and it should be approached with caution and care.
Obviously these games shouldn’t be for all ages. And some do seem to be fetish-focused.
But think about zombie games for example, zombies infect people.
I see it just as another zombie game except instead of zombies it’s cute creatures.
I don’t think we should limit a creator’s freedom by saying “you can’t make this, people sexualize it”.
If people started sexualizing zombies, should we ban zombie games?
I don’t think so. I however do think that people who make such games should be more considerate and think about who will see and play it.
And youtubers shouldn’t use it for baiting because it just feels scummy.
Age restrict it and handle things with care. Don’t go overboard and know when something becomes too suggestive.

I saw a post about a month ago of a kid wearing Changed merch while in school, and all the furries in the comments were just joking about it. At that point, that was the first time I thought about seriously leaving the fandom. I hate how this community shows kids this content and just doesn't care.

Believe it or not I am a part of the small minority of the people in this corrupt "fandom" who do believe that things like these as well as nsfw youtube videos without any age restrictions should not be shown to people under 18.

Agree'd, these games should have never been on the platform in general, even if people want to make an excuse that it's a "SFW Fetish" or something stupid like that, its still pulling children into said Fetish, and well not only that but the dev's of those games don't go too long without accusations that they're predators and all that, a certain Transfur Outbreak dev in particular... And above all else, the thing that nullifies it all imo, is that regardless what the game is made for or anything, in a Roblox Transfur game, there will always be that chance that if you get infected by someone, that person that infected you might just be getting off to it, which is a genuinely disgusting thought.

as a furry myself, a neutral look on this topic is refreshing. you're right to say that people take things way too far on both sides and it's nice to see someone try to be more level-headed about it.
personally I think it all depends on the context of the game. changed is... obviously a fetish game. duh. but it's also a horror game in some ways, and the horror aspect of transformations, transfur or not, seem to be widely accepted as completely sfw material (ex: werewolves and mutants).
I think the problem with these games isn't that they're transfur games - a game can be transfur without being nsfw - but rather that they're associated with changed, which is sexual in nature. I've seen people talk about changed MANY times in games like kaiju paradise, so of course a kid who likes playing kp is going to look into changed even though kp itself is super tame. it's just linked to changed, and because of that link, it shouldn't be on roblox. if changed didn't exist, games like kp would *probably* be just fine.
also, these games wouldn't have any sort of discourse like this if they were just different themes, like humans vs zombies, humans vs werewolves, etc. I remember playing a game, I can't remember the title of it, that was the same exact formula as kp, just werewolf transformations triggered by moonlight instead of goop. and it felt completely sfw because it was separate from changed; it was just kind of a pvp horror game that you could play as the bad guy in if you wanted to. same goes for that one smile game. transformations can and should be allowed on platforms like roblox, because it's an intriguing horror concept, but please not the latex goop anything but the latex goop

I totally agree with this. I was in the KP community for about 2+ -ish years?( I left a week ago, I couldn’t feel better dude that community is hot pile of garbage. ) And everyone in that community HATES Changed, even the developers hate changed and are desperately trying getting people to disassociate it from changed, saying that the transformations are excruciating and even made a rule that banned people from talking about it temporarily! But yeah, Because of changed being a fetish game and that being a well known fact isn’t going to stop people from linking KP to to changed, and because of that children get exposed to NSFW at a stupid young age and that really shouldn’t happen.

Honestly I feel like there's potential to make an actual non-fetish game using this concept. You remove the weird sexual way the transfurs happen, like make it disturbing in a different way like akin to horror [ it could be gore horror or full on psychological horror because I had seen one changed fangame do that and it worked surprisingly well. ]. But I do agree that the ones that do inherently have weird and sexual transfurs aren't exactly for kids.

I've had friends in the past who were obsessed with Changed and Transfur stuff, one as young as 11. So many children are into this whole thing and it makes me uncomfortable, especially when these kids make it their whole personality.

One thing I really like about these videos is that he isn't blaming the people who are into these things, more focusing on the exposure of these things to children and advertising of it.
I appreciate that. A lot of people go after the maker of Changed, and I don't think he deserves it. I'm in the tf community and we are usually very carful to keep that stuff contained, because let me tell you; Changed is the tip of a VERY deep iceberg

This is definitely by far the best view on Changed. The story, characters and puzzles are nice and all but the scenes are really suggestive which I hate the most about the game. Roblox on the other hand, most games dont include suggestive scenes, it mainly shows your avatar just turning into a furry (still doesnt change the fact its still a fetish though).
My view on the changed game on and off roblox is that most of the community is chill and all creating art and stuff (although, there's bad apples in the community, too) but you could either see it as "oh cool, they're a furry now i guess" or "very suggestive and weird".

Oh man, I just saw this. Thanks for talking about this, Jax, I noticed games like this on Roblox and of course was initially confused, as Changed is absolutely not a SFW game that kids ought to even know about. This is a very strange case with no clear answers on how to approach it. Except that it shouldn't be happening in the first place.
I am a teen, and a furry, and i really do agree that this type of content needs to stop. While not due to transfurmation, my exposure to clearly sexually charged furry content on sites such as tiktok and roblox have caused me to develop some really strange and creepy social quirks which only recently I am starting to see and are attempting to stop. When I was younger I would just casually speak or joke about sexual furry stuff which made alot of people dislike me, in some way turn my friends against furries, and in general, further stain this fandom’s already tainted reputation. I was one in thousands of young furries ruining the fandom by acting so creepily and overtly sexually (which is also so disgusting for kids) in light of the fandom. I think that the furry fandom can totally have its reputation repaired, however the fandom keeps slipping up with stuff like this and just worsens its reputation for itself. Obviously, the whole gist of the furry fandom is identification and usage of cute anthropomorphic characters that are obviously super appealing to children. Thats completely fine, and I think the whole idea of identifying yourself with these characters and being part of a special group of like minded induviduals is creative and normal, no matter your age. The problem is these characters portrayal in so much media. So many furries can become defensive when it comes to things like this, but i whole heartedly agree as a furry that being a furry is almost always a sexual thing, and its like that because of portrayal. I dont have to explain it that much since that is the whole point of this video, but simply, furry content, such as games and on social media, using those cute characters that are so appealing to kids, include mass amounts of sexually related and fetish content that really alter the young kids that are so drawn to these characters. Remember, this is sexual content, through a medium of an cute appealing character, being pushed onto kids. Seeing this type of stuff at this age and seeing it being shown through a medium of a cute loveable character essentially prints social disorders and fetishes into people sometimes as young as 10 years old. I have seen people who have become socially brain damaged by this content. Its screwing up so many young people. It screwed me up in some way, I would say not as severely as some people but it still caused me to experience some social issues in the past. Games such as changed and some other sexual furry content has to be made ATLEAST only viewable to people over the age of 15. Even then sexualised content should be limited until the ages of 18. As long as this stuff keeps being presented on places clearly designed for young people such as TikTok and Roblox, and as long as the majority of furries keep turning blind eyes towards these deplorable things, the furry fandom will continue to just lark around carrying its tainted reputation with it.
There's nothing wrong with furry fetish content or furry sexualization per se. I used to be far too sexually fixated in my interactions with people, but that was due to autism and being completely socially inept. You're blaming furry sexualization and porn for your perceived/real social maladroitness and faux pas because it influenced the manifestations of said maladroitness and faux pas, and not the underlying causes of it, which are your age and whatever mental illness and lack of proper social training you may have. Plenty of people have a healthy relationship with porn and furry sexuality and don't speak to everyone like a sex-obsessed and sexually frustrated teenage boy.

Yes, they are definitely innapropriate for children in my opinion. Even I used to be a victim to this weird niche but I dismissed it all as a "joke" (as stupid teenagers do) and continued to play Roblox games about transfur. It was there that I further looked into the niche that I found Changed. At first I joked about it too but after a near-miss almost PLAYING the game after my friend bought it for me and my older brother looking into the game and forcing me to refund it, I looked a little further into the game's transfurs and also learnt of a form of NSFW called "Softcore" NSFW. This is basically NSFW without genitals; it's VERY prevalent in Changed, hell! Just look at the trailer! No child over the age of 9 and under the age of 13 should be seeing that sort of content even generally aligned with the topic of Transfur; it is a fetish, it is used as a fetish, and it always has been a fetish since creation. This stems further into the creator of Changed, DragonSnow. They literally post NSFW of their own characters (Changed has been announced as a 14+ rated game by the way) on their Twitter and have even argued with people supporting the "grey border between SFW and NSFW". So yeah, my opinion is that children 9-13 should not be able to see this content at all. But of course I'm not going to get mad at literal adults for liking whatever they like since again, it doesn't hurt anybody. That's just my opinion though so feel free to think whatever you want

I don't believe teens encountering sexual material or even looking at porn is per se detrimental- I actually believe it's healthy for them, and people in general, to experiment and self-discover with porn. However, it becomes detrimental when it becomes the de facto sex education for children and young adults in lieu of actual and rational sex education, and thus it warps their perceptions of and expectations for sexual and romantic behavior, characteristics, and performance in reality.

I do want to share the fact the first time i saw the trend in 2018 it was an "All Transfur" video, the thumbnail exclusively having puro, which drew my younger me's attention right away.
To say i have been damaged since then is an understatement. I don't understand why or truly how it got out of hand This bad.
Either way, we are all here in the present, where millions of others have experienced atleast once the same thing. It's kind of scary how it just exploded and spread across the internet. Even more so thinking what the result of the aftermath is.

I would say KP is the only exception. Only because KP has distanced itself from Changed, and has absolutely nothing sexually gratifying about it. KP is just a furry pvp game now, it might have been a bit more risque way back when, but they separated it from Changed and have absolutely no fetishy content.

The games he took down were the ones that took his assets, art etc. He doesn't see anything wrong, sexual about his game and he doesn't see anything wrong with this content being exposed to children.
That is already bad but it gets much worse. Another thing is that Dragonsnow likes, supports and defends shota. The shota he liked on Twitter thread was the shota from Japan (NSFW child looking character- pretty much like Changed but the child design is EVEN more noticeable). So if you see people trying to defend him by arguing that shota in chinese doesn't necessarily mean CP don't believe them because Dragonsnow clearly likes the japanese version of shota (CP) and the fact that while retweeting and liking it he tried to argue that in China shota is not that bad (talking about the chinese version of shota that means "little boys" and not "NSWF of little boys") just adds up to that.
Moreover Dragonsnow labeled Changed as "Personal entertainment" which just adds to the game clearly being a fetich game. And also trying to downplay his actions by saying things like "He tried tone down a lot of areas in an effort to make it not 18+" just makes him look even worse because that would mean that he wanted to purposefully spread his game which is an obvious fetisch to minors.
What's even Worse is that Changed is pretty much softcore child porn. Why is the game softcore child porn you may ask? That's because Colin visually looks like a minor and was CONCIOUSLY DRAWN to look like a minor by Dragonsnow.
He created/drew/draws Colin with specific features that make him clearly look like a minor most notable being:
-Large eyes,
-Small nose or lack of it,
-Round shapes,
-Simple features,
-A wide jaw, typical for young children before their faces start to take on a certain shape;
-Small/flat-round chin, which is also common in children who have not yet developed facial features;
-Arms being slimmer at the beginning.
He gave Colin a specific adult age just so the fans can argue that TECHNICALLY "He is an adult" while it simply doesn't work considering how Colin looks. Another improtant thing is that Dragonsnow started to claim that Colin is an adult ONLY AFTER people started to catch on on the fact that he has a child looking character in his game being sexualized, molested, raped and sexually tortured by latex furries. And might I add that the argument "It's just the style that the game has!" doesn't fix anything because that would mean that either:
A) Dragonsnow was too oblivious to notice it which proves that he's a GROSSLY negligent person who shouldn't be on the internet creating content because they can't see the danger that they're creating.
B) Dragonsnow DID notice it but decided to go with it anyway which just proves what kind of a degenerate criminal he is.
What Dragonsnow did is literally no different than what pedophiles that are loli artists do when people call them out for their NSFW art of child-looking characters by saying BS like: "Actually, it's a 500 year old adult dragon being so it's okay to fuck it!". It also goes into a much bigger issue that surrounds anime and manga that ALSO has the problem of having child looking characters in them being sexualized, put into sexual positions etc. and it's honestly suprising that no one has pointed THAT out in this situation.
As someone who has spent some time in some of these communities, I can equivocally say that this sort of content shouldn't be exposed to children. Some friends of mine have had their social lives ruined because of the exposure to such strange topics. And honestly, it's shocking how many high-ranking people in the community eventually get outed as predators or other.
As someone who plays kaiju paradise the devs have stated multiple times they are trying to stray away from changed related things and want more of a combat based game even removing some characters that were based on changed ones.

In my opinion the parody games like infectious smile etc are fine but games like Kajiu Paradise etc are 100% fetish games and should be 17+ at the very least.

Simple transformation / shapeshifting stuff has been a trope in kids media for decades, but specifically Changed-inspired transfur stuff isn't for kids. Stuff made for kids that was inspired by NSFW sources is not for kids.
People need to realize that NSFW doesn't just mean explicit hardcore stuff, which is a huge issue I see in the furry community. SO much kink stuff comes on my feed everyday just because it's not explicitly sexual, even though it's 100% meant to be sexual. Like, wearing a swimsuit isn't NSFW in itself, but it can be if portrayed with the right (or wrong) intentions, same with eating or feet stuff. And same with shapeshifting / transformation.

Time ago, years before "Changed", I wanted to make a 3d platformer game with gooey transformations, where the protagonist uses magical paint to transform to different species and also can use a paintbrush to restore destroyed elements or make a splat of paint to climb walls (like in Epic Mickey or Splatoon); in fact, this idea was to make a good 3D Bubsy Bobcat game after the disaster of Bubsy 3D.
However, when "Changed" was released, I hoped that game would be something similar to my idea, I was disappointed: you have to avoid being transformed into anthropomorphic animals, which their sequences are very suggestive, and it's something I don't like at all. Even so, I continue to think about a transfur game with the ability to use the samples in your favor, but I don't have any inspiration.
It is not until I played Metal Gear Solid for the PS1, which its stealth mechanics and narrative would be the base of a fan sequel of Changed where a new character, Cold Wyvern (a pseudonym of Dragon Snow, the creator of the first game) a former soldier that now works for the UN, has the ability to transfur without losing his consciousness thanks to a special exoskeleton; also in this game, its main theme it's related to a topic that Jax talked about in another video: addiction to inappropriate content.
In other words, furries need less MSG and more MGS.
Why can't there be both? This is not an either/or proposition.
Well I have to scrap the magic paint transformation mechanic because of three reasons: one, it would be very similar to the capture mechanic in "Super Mario Odyssey" or the absorption one in the Kirby games; two, it over complicates the game because the mix of mechanics of Jet Set Radio, De Blob, Epic Mickey, Splatoon and Ninjala was enough for making a good Bubsy fangame; and third, after the release of "Changed", the transformations via gooey substances has now a really bad reputation because of the suggestive themes that arouses it, in other words it's related to this video.
On the other hand, MGS (PS1) has many elements that are very compatible with those where are in "Changed", for example, while MGS1 is talking about the Genes, where Liquid Snake needs the body of Big Boss (an important and legendary soldier) to protect the Genome Soldiers from a new disease; in "Changed", a genetic project has got out of control, which symbiotic samples are controlled by Dr K to stop Colin and spread a new variant of the pale virus.
Then, if MGS2 Sons of Liberty talks about the Memes (in the original definition by Richard Dawkins) where Solidus Snake has to get rid of The Patriots (a secret organization which manipulates digital information) to be able to pass his legacy to future generations; then, "Changed" has to evolve from a "furry fetish" game to a self-critic one, so in the fan sequel, it must talk about the consequences of spreading this type of content to underage audiences and the addiction to suggestive content among furries (in other words, it has to talk about the topics of this video and the previous one).

I see many people decrying sexualization of this or ____ thing, as if they are under the impression there can only be one or the other. I had no idea Changed became so well known. As a guy who's played theough the whole thing, i thought it was just a hilarious odddity known by only a few.
Someone finally talk about this. I was there when it all went down and I unfortunately was affected by the transfur addiction way before it even hit roblox. Thankfully my addiction soon died down later on but that can't be said for others.

Personal for this whole outbreak, it's horrible to watch cause I know it probably caused many children to gain a kink when they shouldn't even know what that word is or means. The second thing ontop of that is this will probably cause some of them to look for the origins, unlocking a pathway that could warp their development (granted I'm not an expert). I have been through the exact path you mentioned( the transfur game being the catalyst just for me to continue looking up that kind of stuff and it starting to affect how I am now) and it has led to severe issues and I'm only starting to get away from that shit thanks to the fact I'm starting to grow a bit now. Imo, its inherit existence isn't bad as long as it doesn't get graphic, although the relation to Changed IS bad, atleast for the platform in question.
As long as they can adequately separate themselves from the original, and stay non graphic, I think it'd be fine.
I would also note a few things, while if I recall correctly the relation alone to certain topics is against TOS, Roblox has had a very mixed history on enforcing that.
Aswell, again if I recall correctly, the creator of Changed, Dragonsnow, has specified he doesn't want the game recreated on Roblox.

fr though i don't think transfur games are supposed to be on roblox. they always reference the nsfw game, and have really bad fanbases with a ton of drama (transfur outbreak). the only reason people play these, is because is how simple they are. you just grab a weapon or walk in a puddle, and then you can start playing the game. they easily reach over a broad audience of newer players, roleplayers, pvp players, etc. kp for example, it's designed to be perfect for roleplayers, but also somewhat good for fighting.
raw pvp is fun, i would happily play a game similar to these without them being related to changed. kinda sad that the ones that aren't obviously based on changed are really bad.

The game Changed is pretty suggestive, though I don’t see anything suggestive or more in the Roblox games. Sure they are inspired, but it’s just transformation, not being pinned to the floor and being transformed slowly as they grin at you in a way. They just simply hit or hug you and poof.

Yes, this game can be used for kinks, and Roblox should restrict it to at least for only 13 and up.
However, the way games on Roblox like Kaiju Paradise use it is to make a survival between two sides: the humans and the goos.
This concept is better than that of Changed and I believe it’s family friendly. The game, at least. The community around it…eh…not so much.
But I think the same can apply to Changed too, as it’s like a survival RPG. But it does lean a lot on a TF kink, so that community is a bit more far-fetched.
to be honest the goos are mostly extinct in public servers because the amount of "fun police" (thats what i call tryhards)

I remember when I firstly played changed back in the early 2019. I thought that the characters and the story was pretty fun. Overal i would rate it 8/10. Sometimes the game can be heavy RNG based and the controls can be a bit junky.
As for the popularity of the game.. Many children under 15yrs old started to catch on it despite the game being a "TF" fetish game.
And dont even get me started on the cheap roblox copies of the game. I remember that one popular game on roblox was being developed which was based on the original game. The difference being that you could play for 2 teams. One was the humans and others were the monsters from the game.
Now the dilema of the said game was that these developers did not ask if they could develop this game without permission from the original developer "Dragon Show".
After some time this game had to be deleted because the developer of the original game DragonSnow didn't like that they were developing the game without his consent.
After this dilema the copies of the game had to shift their ideas and make their own games based of the original idea of the game.
If I recal the most popular game based of Changed is Kaiju paradise? But I also heard that one developer of the KP game was a pedo. It also had a bad moderation team and they banned some users for unknown reasons.
But thats everything i can recall outside of the little kids playing the game which is yknow.. Bad.

The main reason why it got caught up with a younger audience is mainly because of Roblox and youtubers spreading it to a younger fanbase. The creator of the game is no where at fault because of this
