tibor pevec novak I love Dishonored so much, but nothing will top the Kingdom Hearts series for me, that game was my childhood and it has a special place in my heart. Dishonored is definitely second, though.
"Because you were more to her than Royal Protector." "Farewell, Corvo." God, that ending monologue gives me chills. It's like the Outsider is genuinely complimenting your ingenuity and your patience, and is saying goodbye to an old friend.
And in the worst possible ending (Emily dying) he says he's had a grand old time watching you murder your way through the city and ultimately plunge it further into chaos because of your actions. He respects you in the good ending, but he just mocks you in the baddest one.
Dizzy Doom All the Outsider monologues are fantasticly writen and performed. No one can do a better job than Billy Lush. Sure, the new outsider in the sequel seems more personal, more "the voice in your ear" sort of role, which I think Billy Lush overlooked as the outsider, and that slight distortion was the cherry ontop. But Billy Lush was so monotone and almost robotic in the way he spoke, sort of reiterating the fact that he was an other worldly spectator in all this.
+Spider Man i couldn't agree more. even though it was essentially a Thief clone, (understandable considering some of the people at Arkane WORKED on Thief at one point or another) it was fun as fuck teleporting everywhere, running across rooftops like a vengeful ninja Grim Reaper. of course, given i don't play games the Naked Snake way, Dunwall was overrun by plague rats because i killed everyone who got in my way, but if you're going to have a game based around vendetta, what did you expect? i ain't a fuckin' pacifist. i avenged Corvo's lover, and i got his daughter back. as far as i'm concerned, that's all that matters.
i think the two sides of corvo's mask show what he can be. the smaller lens being the maniac of silent murder, the wider for seeing the bigger picture and sparing the lives of his enemies.
Official lyrics (From the live performance on Daniel Litch's channel) Oh well honor for all, oh the big and the small, The taller they stand, the harder they fall, We live for today but we die for the next, With blood in our veins and the air in our chests, we step into war with our hearts on the line, The dirt on our boots it shakes free over time. The music, it fades, the, violin slows The darkness, it rises as the sun goes. Love is a distant aroma at best, A withering smile that's stuffed deep in your vest, The night air it wraps it's fingers around, Your body it shakes from a now distant sound, Oh the sound of her voice; a sweet symphony, Played over and over until you are free. The music, it fades, the violin slows, The darkness, it rises, as the sun goes. Can you feel the new day rising? Climbing up the east horizon, They can't hold us down we'll fight through, Each and everyone will start new. Well we shall not stumble, no, we shall not fall, We shall not crumble, no, we shall stand tall, Death it will come as sure as the night, But we will not run no we live but to fight, With blood on our hands and dirt on our knees, We tear at the ones who brought the disease. The music it fades, the violin slows, The darkness it rises as the sun goes. Can you feel the new day rising? Climbing up the east horizon, They can't hold us down we'll fight through, Each and everyone will start new.

Even when playing other games I tend to yearn for the things I experienced in Dishonored. That is why I can say, at least for myself, that the game is perfect in every aspect.
Deadlover323 i agree the one thing i wish they had was more mele combat for other non lethal take downs like punching someone out cold or bashing them with the hilt of the sward to knock the out cold

It is strange how i felt after beating the game, at this magnificent song... It is amazing, how you can travel through the whole story with Corvo... Like the avenging and furious reaper, or the silent, forgiving but unsung hero. I just remembered, how deep this game is. In every other game, you will move towards your fate leaving mountains of corpses, and you literally has no choice, whether you kill or spare. This game got me feeling: maybe it was wrong to butcher those pirates, mercenaries, and bad guys. Maybe there is a more wise method, through one can find a deeper understanding of life...

Julie Pate That's what I like abut Dishonored. The enemies are good but not good enough so you can literally choose how you handle them. They can't see through walls and don't have excellent agility so you can just ditch them. But they can also be taken out quickly if you know what you're doing. I just stuck to knocking them out with sleep darts. =/

well in dishonored 2 no, because in dishonored 1 corvo dies decades after Dishonored 2 takes place not less than 15 years after Dishonored 1 so most likely corvo is not dead
loving this song, its both beautiful yet eerie, mournful yet cheerful, perfect for any ending in the game, a true representation that makes you question your actions in the past, that makes you proud or ashamed of what you've done, and to realise what your actions have done, but nonetheless, revenge is made and the end is here, a new day dawns, either with a massacre, minor blood shed or cleanhands; with interegnum, chaos, or peace. Well done Arkane studios, you've made the best replayable game
Dishonored was awesome. Picked up thief since it looked like it was similar. Idk if it was me or the game but I couldn't get into it. It felt like a watered down dishonored to me.
I beat this game eight times and got all the achievements. I was obsessed with it for some reason. I did all playstyles and memorized all the lines. I love the art style and the smooth as butter gameplay. I think the simplicity of this game made it so appealing to me. I LOVE exploring the mansion and sneaking in all the rooms stealing gold and stuff I forgot the name of the level its been awhile.
+Dallin Lutz i love the fact that Dishonored's engine was used for the Wolfenstein reboot. sliding around on the floor and peaking around corners made me nostalgic and think i was playing as Corvo again, rather than......well, one of the most overrated FPS characters in the history of the genre.
@@kyleshepard3139 Sorry but BJ Blazcowicz is an amazingly well written character and is very deep. I prefer Dishonored as a game but in the first Dishonored Corvo is completely silent and has no character at all
@@Blackhawk211 What do you mean Corvo has no character? YOU are Corvo and YOU make the decisions, you decide if you want to kill or not. The story changes depending on your actions and Corvo changes depending on your action. smh my head
Honestly dishonored what a game. What a storyline. Revenge. Passion. Love. Betrayal. Trust. So many turning points and plot twists. So intreaging. So many amazing quotes. Absolutely loved it. Forever one of the best stealth games to be created. Well done to bethesda and arkane.
Listening to this at the end is so awesome when you get the good ending because the lyrics kind of relate to Corvo's honor because he saved Emily and avenged the empress all without letting his anger get the best of him and killing everyone and also how there is going to be a new golden age for Dunwall now that Emily is at the throne with corvo at her side and ya boi Pierro made a cure for the plague. It's just so awesome
This game won't get old no matter how many times you play it as there're innumerable ways of achieving the objectives and all of them are fun in their own right.
I played this game a thousand times. Got every ending. Saw every secret. End the best of this game is the pacifist ending No matter the difficulty, its a Challange to be merciful in this game. From the Gameplay and also from the moral. And after i beat it the first time and the Outsider told me all that, it gave me the chills. I laughed out of triumph. I fucking love this game
Just finished this game. Call me merciful. I let live most of the evil characters: even the lord regent cause for 100% he was hanged without honor and rememberd as piece of shit
maybe i just sucked but i played a second time to try for the good ending but um anytime i had no choice but to KO someone the bodies always got found leading to increased chaos. when i say Ko i mean i tranqued them. were there hiding places or something becuase i would stuff em into closets and sht or under tables. my first play through i was brutal and my main power was the rat storm that ate EVERYONE that was hostile.
@@ladylunara5 its no matter if the bodies get found. What matters is that you just knock them out OR you can use indrect ways to kill them. Honestly, the rats are a powerful weapon in the pacifist route. If you use them the game doesn't care. There are some other ways too kill indrectly and stay on low chaos that way.
i mean ur not wrong. i just finished a pacifist run and i still somehow killed 2 people i still dont know how i killed the second [i thought throwing bodies in water wont kill the unconcious body]
One of the best games I've ever played. Excellent story, unique art style, satisfying sfx, and refined gameplay with endless replay-ability. What more could you want? And, this end track just sets the tone for the game perfectly. Always such a great feeling to hear this track as the credits roll.
This song honestly gives me shivers ever time I listen to it. It's amazing by itself, and is also such a great conveyance of the entire game. Beautiful.
Oh well, honor for all Of the big and the small Well the taller they stand Well the harder they fall We live for today But we die for the next With blood in our veins And the air in our chest So we step into war With our hearts on the line Dirt on our boots It shakes free over time The music it fades The violin slows The darkness it rises As the sun goes Love is a distant aroma at best A withering smile that's stuck deep in your vest The night air it wraps its fingers around Your body it shakes from the now distant sound Oh, the sound of her voice A sweet symphony Played over and over Until you are free The music it fades The violin slows The darkness it rises As the sun goes Can you feel the new day rising Climbing up the east horizon? When you go for the good ending. Corvo doesn't match the "Assassin" type. His is a protector. He finds threats to Emily, and eliminates them. Even if you kill them, that is all his doing. Eliminating threats to ensure the threat wont come back. And a warning, threaten Emily you die. For High Chaos, the Outsider describer's Corvo the best. "A avenging spirit." Its kinda fun walking the thin line for Low and High Chaos. Just did a low chaos edging on high. Killed the Spymaster and High Overseer. Because they started it all. I would sneak past/Sleep dart most guards. But if I overheard a guard being corrupt or being "Evil" I would go out of my way to kill him. It was quite fun, on one side a Protector, the other a cleansing fire. Also killed every weeper I came over, while the game looked the other way.
I think you "spared" Spymaster and high Overseer, I think they deserve to suffer Die-easiest way to them Because being weeper or suffer in prison -this is their fate , Traitors must be held accountable for their actions (sry if I typed something wrong.English isn't my native language. Im rus....
This game caught me off guard. I went to play it clueless. It was between with the old xbox my neighbour gave me... And oh my god... all the emotions that came with a free game.
This song is absolutely gorgeous. It fits the game well, and it's just lovely to listen to over and over again. Definitely going on the old MP3 player.
I like to imagine even the save/load feature/going back to previous missions (Albeit, in the state you originally started them in) is part of the Outsider's mark, considering the Void is "The end of all things, but also the beginning"
This song is why I always preferred Corvo the Rat King to Corvo the Hero. It's just so dark, and there's that hint of madness and being haunted by "her voice." I love it, and Corvo, despite not speaking a single word in the game, will always be among my favorite video game characters.
***** I don't recall much in terms of dialogue options. Corvo is pretty mute (although it makes sense; if I'd gone through some of the stuff he has, I probably wouldn't be all that talkative, either).
Julie Pate Grunts don't count. For a character to not be classified as a mute protagonist, they have to have actual spoken lines. Spoken lines with words. Miles Upshur from Outlast, for example, is still a mute character despite his ability to communicate through grunt, screams, and hastily scrawled notes written to himself, because throughout the entire game, Miles never actually *says* a single word aloud. Same goes for Corvo, here.
Tristan Smith I know what mutt means, I am a writer, I need to know these things. I have created a character who was mutt, he had to be since he hid from people or stalked them. It was just a joke post...but I guess I failed at this joke post. *Adds it to a list of failed joke posts* Like I said it was just for a joke, you know a laugh *Laughs but nothing echoes back but the sound of crickets*
Julie Pate When you say "mutt" you mean "mute," right? A mutt is like a dog. That's fine, I didn't realize you were joking, that's my fault. I have difficulty picking up on that stuff, sometimes. Oh, here lemme get that for you. *swats at crickets* These things are just fucking everywhere, amiright? Pretentious dickwads. Wait. These... These aren't crickets. *locusts buzz angrily* Oh god. OH GOD I FUCKED UP.
Feels so good to hear this song after completing the game with clean hands and without bring spotted and get like 4 trophies for completing the game and doing it on low chaos, just to see trophy after trophy, makes ya think the sitting and staring blankly at a flickering screen for 48 hours straight was really fulfilling
Man video game industry is growing rapidly We may have realistic graphics and gameplay nowdays but there is something special about these old games like dishonoured that can never be matched, May be nostalgia but no I don't think so, don't know what it is, I've played dishonored 2 but dishonored 1 will always be best game for me
I don't think it's old games per se, just that the good old games are now remembered. Dishonoured 2 is incredible, I will definitely recommend it, but the rise of the indie game industry has been giving us so many heartfelt games. Hollow Knight, Helldivers 2, 9 Sols, etc.
When I first heard this song on my high chaos playthrough it made me feel like I caused the whole city to fall So I started again and did the low chaos ending and hearing this makes me feel like I saved Emily from becoming a tyrant

this song really suits the game. I love it. So unique that whenever I hear this, I keep thinking of the dark times in dishonored
thats whay i was thinking for days.
dishonored was such a good game reminded me of thief.. But i liked dishonored so much i completed the game on all the difficulties
I loved it so much I bought the knife of dunwall
Dauds story
I especially like the atmosphere that is hanging around in the game. I like dark and gritty games.
***** maybe in dishonored 2 :)
same! I also tried all the alternatives of playing the game. Replayed the damn thing around 6 times.
The name was Boyles Last Party, mission 5
+Dallin Lutz i love the fact that Dishonored's engine was used for the Wolfenstein reboot. sliding around on the floor and peaking around corners made me nostalgic and think i was playing as Corvo again, rather than......well, one of the most overrated FPS characters in the history of the genre.
@@kyleshepard3139 Sorry but BJ Blazcowicz is an amazingly well written character and is very deep. I prefer Dishonored as a game but in the first Dishonored Corvo is completely silent and has no character at all
@@Blackhawk211 still better than BJ
@@Blackhawk211 What do you mean Corvo has no character? YOU are Corvo and YOU make the decisions, you decide if you want to kill or not. The story changes depending on your actions and Corvo changes depending on your action. smh my head
This makes doing homework sound so epic..
This makes raping a putrid dog corpse so epic

I am in love with song and the game was AMAZING!
Well, you're not the only one

Finished twice with high and low chaos. Such an amazing game
It's a weird game, but one of my favourites. It's so fucking underrated :l
zFallenHeartzx naw dude it is popular.
zFallenHeartzx Underrated? lol, look at metacritic dude.
I known right it should be 8-10 are even over 90000000 ❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗
I think he means popularity wise, yeah I blame the CoD generation
zFallenHeartzx "So underrated"
What the fuck are you talking about?

Honestly dishonored what a game. What a storyline. Revenge. Passion. Love. Betrayal. Trust. So many turning points and plot twists. So intreaging. So many amazing quotes. Absolutely loved it. Forever one of the best stealth games to be created. Well done to bethesda and arkane.
Just finished the game again after some many years. Still an amazing game and such a beautiful song
Dishonored is the best game ive ever played in my life
Honor for you, Daniel Licht.

In Russian translation:
Честь тебе, Даниэль Лихт.

Something I love about the song is that (to me) it’s theme changes depending on what ending you got and I can’t describe how but I love this song
I've always wondered what I had in store for dishonored when I heard about it. I never expected it to be this good.
Seth_Raven same here
2020 anyone re-listening to this masterpiece
Try again this year

@@aymenghm5290 can't argue with that
Slow start.
got infinite feelings from this game, ''ok'' game until the end where it just hit the roof and above.
I played this to my friends and they said: "Stop this depressing music dude!"
Then i Blinked behind them and watched them get eaten by rats.
lol dude xD
This music is beautiful in my opinion.
really?, i stopped time and pull their pants off lol
im a man Ah, pussy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
can you play multiplayer?
Listening to this at the end is so awesome when you get the good ending because the lyrics kind of relate to Corvo's honor because he saved Emily and avenged the empress all without letting his anger get the best of him and killing everyone and also how there is going to be a new golden age for Dunwall now that Emily is at the throne with corvo at her side and ya boi Pierro made a cure for the plague. It's just so awesome
This game won't get old no matter how many times you play it as there're innumerable ways of achieving the objectives and all of them are fun in their own right.
Not a Game But A Masterpiece
Games can be masterpieces too ya know
every time i hear this song i cry cuz i had so much good memories with this game!
Me too, this game is such of a masterpiece
@@cursedchadvala4692 i thought theres no one playing this game anymore
@@Daria_Georgieva played it a long time ago but this game still stands out even during this time
I played this game a thousand times.
Got every ending.
Saw every secret.
End the best of this game is the pacifist ending
No matter the difficulty, its a Challange to be merciful in this game.
There are some other ways too kill indrectly and stay on low chaos that way.
i mean ur not wrong.
i just finished a pacifist run and i still somehow killed 2 people
i still dont know how i killed the second [i thought throwing bodies in water wont kill the unconcious body]
@@thesexman6337probably the height that killed them
After so long I have finally been able to go through this game. It still holds up.

Beautiful.
The hype this song give you after finishing the game is incredible
Such a underrated game.
Oh well, honor for all
Of the big and the small
Well the taller they stand
Well the harder they fall
We live for today
But we die for the next
With blood in our veins
And the air in our chest
So we step into war
With our hearts on the line
Dirt on our boots
It shakes free over time
The music it fades
The violin slows
The darkness it rises
As the sun goes
Love is a distant aroma at best
A withering smile that's stuck deep in your vest
The night air it wraps its fingers around
Your body it shakes from the now distant sound
Oh, the sound of her voice
A sweet symphony
Played over and over
Until you are free
The music it fades
The violin slows
The darkness it rises
As the sun goes
Can you feel the new day rising
Climbing up the east horizon?
They can't hold us
Now we'll fight through
Each and everyone will start new
Well, we shall not stumble
No, we shall not fall
We shall not crumble
No, we shall stand tall
With death it will come
As sure as a night
But we will not run
No, we live but to fight
With blood on our hands
And dirt on our knees
We tear at the ones
Who brought the disease
The music it fades
The violence slows
The darkness it rises
As the sun goes
Can you feel the new day rising
Climbing up the east horizon?
They can't hold us
Now we'll fight through
Each and every one will start new
Can you feel the new day rising
Climbing up the east horizon?
They can't hold us
Now we'll fight through
Each and every one will start new
More than just a game...

Dishonerd ... What A Game this song makes remember it
i just finished the definitive edition and hearing this song at the end, made me want to go straight onto the DLC
アウトサイダーの台詞の後でこの曲流れる一連の流れが秀逸としか言いようがない
When you go for the good ending.
Corvo doesn't match the "Assassin" type.
His is a protector. He finds threats to Emily, and eliminates them.
Even if you kill them, that is all his doing. Eliminating threats to ensure the threat wont come back. And a warning, threaten Emily you die.
For High Chaos, the Outsider describer's Corvo the best.
"A avenging spirit."
Its kinda fun walking the thin line for Low and High Chaos.
I think you "spared" Spymaster and high Overseer, I think they deserve to suffer
Die-easiest way to them
Because being weeper or suffer in prison -this is their fate , Traitors must be held accountable for their actions (sry if I typed something wrong.English isn't my native language. Im rus....
This game caught me off guard. I went to play it clueless. It was between with the old xbox my neighbour gave me...
And oh my god... all the emotions that came with a free game.
Best game ever.I fucking love the story, graphic, everything.Damn looking forward to Dishonored 2.
Till date Dishonoured is undefeated ! Hall of fame entry game!
Dishonored is a legend. i still listen this song
This song is absolutely gorgeous. It fits the game well, and it's just lovely to listen to over and over again. Definitely going on the old MP3 player.
This music is so powerful, i love it !
I like to imagine even the save/load feature/going back to previous missions (Albeit, in the state you originally started them in) is part of the Outsider's mark, considering the Void is "The end of all things, but also the beginning"
When i heard ''Dishonored'' i thought it some kind of joke,....i played it 3 years ago and still play it, favorite game
in memory of Daniel Licht
This was the first game that I finnished in a shot, couldn't stop playing it. Was amazing!
I feel the nostalgia when i listen to this masterpiece
This song is why I always preferred Corvo the Rat King to Corvo the Hero. It's just so dark, and there's that hint of madness and being haunted by "her voice." I love it, and Corvo, despite not speaking a single word in the game, will always be among my favorite video game characters.
***** I don't recall much in terms of dialogue options. Corvo is pretty mute (although it makes sense; if I'd gone through some of the stuff he has, I probably wouldn't be all that talkative, either).
But he does make sounds when he dies...I have killed him enough times to know.
*Adds it to a list of failed joke posts*
Like I said it was just for a joke, you know a laugh
*Laughs but nothing echoes back but the sound of crickets*
Julie Pate When you say "mutt" you mean "mute," right? A mutt is like a dog.
That's fine, I didn't realize you were joking, that's my fault. I have difficulty picking up on that stuff, sometimes.
Oh, here lemme get that for you. *swats at crickets* These things are just fucking everywhere, amiright? Pretentious dickwads.
Wait. These... These aren't crickets.
*locusts buzz angrily*
Oh god.
Man video game industry is growing rapidly
We may have realistic graphics and gameplay nowdays but there is something special about these old games like dishonoured that can never be matched, May be nostalgia but no I don't think so, don't know what it is, I've played dishonored 2 but dishonored 1 will always be best game for me
Totally agree with that , I'm think the reason that the old games are mostly better is because they made more with love
I don't think it's old games per se, just that the good old games are now remembered. Dishonoured 2 is incredible, I will definitely recommend it, but the rise of the indie game industry has been giving us so many heartfelt games. Hollow Knight, Helldivers 2, 9 Sols, etc.
2019 still legend as legend.
I listen to it from time to time, and it's still good, like the first time.
- " Farewell Corvo " and then this... great ending for a great story.
WE need more games like this !
1 of the best song i have ever listened ....thnx phirune for not adding the starting long tune
This song is a masterpiece.
When I first heard this song on my high chaos playthrough it made me feel like I caused the whole city to fall
So I started again and did the low chaos ending and hearing this makes me feel like I saved Emily from becoming a tyrant
This should be the best game i finished this game in 3 days, its a true masterpiece ,though its a very big game.
73 dunwall guards disliked this song :)
I am a big Thief series fan ever since Dark Project(Thief 1) and was buying new Sound Blaster cards just to experience new sound features of Metal Age(2)and Deadly Shadows(3). So was very excited when New Thief(4) was announced. Accidentally stumbled on and decided to play Dishonored to tie me over while was waiting for new Thief. Now finally playing the new Thief i realize that i was playing the REAL new Thief without even realizing it. Amazing game(and DLC's) - cant wait for Dishonored2!
One of the best game ever created. Respect.♥️♥️
Yes. Truly Amazing.
yep
This game , i so , "unusual".... Best story ever...... No game could have this good story , plus i love the way you can change your Ending ..... :D PLUS the DLC Knife of Dunwall , best DLC ever .. :D
No matter how many games I play , I will always return back to dishonored ❤️
Rest in Peace Daniel Licht T_T
You think we'll get our own squad after tonight?
Indeed I believe so
There is no better outro music so far, in my opinion. This hits the entire uncertain and dark tone of the game itself. Very well collaborated.
Used to love this game.
A true example of hero who is completely selfless
Or the villain full of hatred depending on your play style
