Thank you. I bought this yarn at a goodwill store not knowing I was getting a bunch because it was in a tote bag and/or basket with regular yarn. I have never used this yarn because it looks so hard to work with; then I came across this tutorial and the way you explain how to use it and show how to use and find stitches makes me feel much better on using it.
BIG stitches are definitely this yarn's friend!

I loved the Tunisian blanket and the Mile a Minute blankets both of which are currently being used! I am looking forward to 2023's 1st instalment. So glad to see that you survived the big freeze that we all saw via Tv in Britain. I hope that your hands are better as I suffer with Polymyalgia myself and know the pain and frustration well. Jayda, I’m glad you acknowledged that it’s hard to see the chains using Homespun yarn! I don’t like to use Homespun for that reason. Can I use another Size 5 yarn? Anxiously awaiting the new calendar blanket!!
Hi Janet! This is why I like Homespun for projects where it's a space oriented pattern versus stitch - honestly, if you can just feel your way through the foundation chain row, you're off to the races, and it's so soft and warm, it's really worth it! You can certainly use other yarns though, anything soft and fluffy would be lovely!

I thought that too, but as Jayda said-if you feel your way... it's way easier than I thought/expected 😃. I don't generally care for Homespun after making my niece a blanket with it years ago and swearing to myself (vowing) to never use it again. Here I am crocheting with it lol.

The scarf is pretty but I don't like the homespun yard. I will make it in another yarn though. Would either 5 or 6 weight work
Hi Mary, this is a size 5, but like I said, it almost acts like a size 6. Since yarns vary in their categories somewhat, I would say 5 or 6 would be fine, but a little sampler might be a good idea to work up before you settle on the entire project 😊
