A few things this time around. First, it's a shame Lady Gaga's song with Elton John didn't chart properly. Second, good on J.I. for going either here. Wish I could say the same for Eric Church, though. Third, I'm genuinely surprised the $uicideboy$ are actually having a song rising higher and higher lately! I wonder if it'll keep up here? Finally... Britney Spears? The Black Eyed Peas? Tim McGraw? Did we just enter a weird wormhole without even realizing it somehow?
Sorry, no time to spam comments this week, I'm making that #1 hits ranking and I have to find something interesting to say about the 792 different Rihanna songs that topped the charts in the 2010s, so that might take a while
Most of Rihanna's #1 hits came in the first half of the decade, her only one from 2015 onwards was Work in 2016. I'm not sure how she'll do if/when she comes back.
With all these album bombs, its actually refreshing to see a whole variety of new entries on the Hot 100 in one week. 2020 seems to be the year of many new songs, but few that actually stick around.
I'll say this, if "Roses" by Saint JXN and "Don't Rush" by Yung T and Bugsey ft. Headsie One opens the door to international crossover songs from African artists or even some more Afrobeat and Afropop songs on the chart, I'll take what I can get.
Top 5 songs based what's on projected/expected to make the year end. 1. Even Though I'm Leaving- Luke Combs 2. Everything I Wanted- Billie Eilish 3. Blinding Light- The Weeknd 4. Good As Hell- Lizzo 5. Rain On Me- Lady Gaga and Arianna Grande (assuming it doesn't collapse)
The Variety Channel of youtube keeping hope alive with that one. It’s projected to be on The cusp of making the list depending how the rest of the year goes
I think Billboard gives exceptions to songs below 50 that have over 20 weeks if they still have gains, so since Out West had a big gain it was given another week. Billboard has done this before and I'm sure this isn't the last time we'll see this
No one likes that song. It's only scored high because of radio overplay, especially when they can't think of anything else to play. (Heard it twice in the same hour once.)
Billboardguy1 There’s two different definitions of EDM. You’re referring to electro house, while everyone else is using it as an umbrella term for electronic music
EDM was never dead. It stopped becoming mainstream around 2015-2016. Nowadays true EDM music has become an underground genre just like real rock music.
For the record, the rule is that songs below the top 50 fall off after 20 weeks unless they’re gaining on radio. That rarely happens, but for songs that debut high on streaming and don’t get a decent radio deal until far into their runs, they do stick around. Same thing happened with Close Friends, Worth It, Tusa, El Perdon Talk You Out of It & a few others.
The 20-50 rule is so flawed, since some songs that spend 20 weeks below the the 50 go to the top 50 for one week and then miss their spot at the year end list
I honestly think that Billboard should extend their year end to 200 songs, it would definitely make their YE lists age a lot better in retrospect, for example the 2003 year end, where a bunch of R&B and Crunk songs that no one remembers were high on the list, while Stacy’s Mom and Seven Nation Army didn’t even make the cut, also Picture by Kid Rock higher than Bring Me To Life, wtf
Bring Back KP, Animated Obviously /CrisisOnFire1977 I’m currently working on a chart for each year this decade that puts a song’s entire chart run into one year. Those charts will go 200 songs deep. And it’s based on the real points I calculated while doing the Jan-Dec year ends. So yeah, if you really want to see that, you’re in luck
@Mike Rivera Imagine If Billboard re-did their year end lists based solely on pop culture impact and longevity, All Star would probably top the 1999 YE 🤣 Also, you have to keep in mind that the late 90s-early 2000s charts weren’t exactly accurate since the hottest destination for music at that time among the youth of America by a landslide was TRL and there were tons of songs that were absolutely massive there, while they barely impacted the hot 100 (for example, if you showed any millennial the old YE lists, they will probably be shocked at how little nu metal and pop punk is actually represented on those lists, considering how inescapable they were at the time)
Well we have two in Roses and Rain Me. First time since 2017 that we’ve had two electronic songs in the top 10 at the same time (well technically two if the original Roses by SAINt JHN isn’t counted)
is nobody gonna comment on the fact that we’ve literally had a new no. 1 every week throughout the past like 6 or 7 weeks?? 2020 is gonna break the record for most no. 1’s in a year by July or August at this rate lmao
I chalk it up to Quarantine. Big name collaborations and streaming is gonna rise up the charts easily along with Billboard changing its rules and the attention span of my generation. Just saying.
BLACKPINK and Gaga don’t have chemistry. But I will say it’s better than kiss and make up. Your comment at the end though. BLACKPINK haven’t gotten content in forever so Gaga was probably doing them a service. She’s not doing it to boost her sales. She’s helping them more than they help her
It's a good thing Billboard changed the name. It just doesn't make sense for songs like Royals or High Hopes to top a Billboard chart that is made for rock music.
In all seriousness though, actual real Rock music has hardly made any cultural significant impact since around 2009. You had some indie song's in the early half of the last decade, but that quickly went away.

@@tristannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn I think Adele announced an album for September but that was before corona so it's probably not going to happen then but the lead single could still drop this year. I have no clue when a new Rihanna lead single/album will drop though.
So we have a song about being a rockstar top the charts for 3 decades in a row 2008 “So What”- Pink 2017 “Rockstar” Post Malone ft 21 Savage 2020 “Rockstar” DaBaby
@Nick Cruz I agree. Nickelbacks Rockstar is no doubt the worst of the 3. I just think it would be funny if we get another song titled Rockstar in 2027.

Anyone else find it weird that Rockstar is now DaBaby’s biggest hit? Like it’s even bigger than the song that put him on the map “Suge”. Its strange. At least to me. Also wow, no one cared about Yachty this week. We didn’t even get Ophra’s Bank Account back. I mean for good reason, the album truly shows Yachty running out of steam, but damn. Anyway, BotW: TD (Really cut Yachty off the song and it would be an improvement) HM: TNK WOTW: Tell me you love me (although more for Trippie’s oddly offbeat hook and bad production) DM: Got what I got
Oh dude I never thought of that...and Lil Mosey is in the top 20 too. And Tierra just got on here with TD and Gunna had last week Now all we need is Comethazine to get in and it’ll be the whole XXL family (well most but we don’t need Blueface, or Osiris in here). Sure as hell did better than 2018 or 17 where the only still relevant artists from those classes combined is A Boogie, Trippie, JID, and Ski Mask.
Potentially Big Hits: Supalonely by BENEE & Gus Dapperton Break My Heart by Dua Lipa After a Few by Travis Denning Ride It by Regard If the World Was Ending by JP Saxe ft. Julia Michaels Be Kind by Marshmello & Halsey Bluebird by Miranda Lambert Don't Rush by Young T & Bugsey ft. Headie One In Between by Scotty McCreery In Your Eyes (Remix) by The Weeknd & Doja Cat X by Jonas Brothers & KAROL G Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles Need It by Migos & YoungBoy Never Broke Again Any songs I should add or remove? I know I need to take off a couple of these.
Lil' Miss Different maybe remove x cause it looks like it will flop, I'd say sadly remove in your eyes cause it's massively underperforming, I don't think in between, bluebird and need it will get big.
Anything Country related is very patchy when it comes to crossover on the Hot 100 and becoming hits. On that note, You should probably remove "In Between"
Chromatica is full of bangers. Sour Candy can definitely make the top 10 also it nice to see Doja Cat pushing Like That as a single it was the most commercial song on Hot Pink.
Predictions for next week: I don't really know. We could end up getting another cool down week. The only things I see for next week is a new Meek Mill single, maybe that new Sleepy Hallow song which is getting big on Tik Tok I think, Roses could maybe rise up within the Top 10. Also, you can expect Hard To Forget by Sam Hunt to rise up too. (UGH) Also, in a week or two we may unfortunately see the return of AJR on the Hot 100 with BANG! as well. (Again, UGGGGGGGH). Next Number One either Savage or ROCKSTAR again. If Dababy releases a music video for ROCKSTAR, it will most likely stay in the Top 10. Let me know if I forgot anything. Stay safe out there everyone. #Blacklivesmatter
I don’t give two craps on them two songs. It’s the debuts and reentries that I say is very interesting. Sure old songs like segues cil el and that way is back. But look One Beer, One Big Country Song, Got What I Got, One Of Them Girls, Like That, etc are here
I love how it literally took the creation of a new chart just to get rid of "High Hopes" from the Rock charts. Eh, I'm cool with it though. Just annoyed they didn't do it sooner.
I feel like I might get a lot of hate for this but i definitely prefer BLACKPINK’s parts over Gaga’s. Like they suit the song better. No shade to Gaga, she is a queen
Top 5: 1. Lose Somebody - Kygo & OneRepublic 2. One Beer - Hardy ft. Lauren Alaina & Devin Dawson 3. One Big Country Song - Locash 4. Got What I Got - Jason Aldean 5. One of Them Girls - Lee Brice
On the Canadian charts, Roses hits #1 making it the first EDM song to lead there since Cold Water. As well, in a country where Kygo’s album bomb is bigger, Kim Petras got her first charting song!
I found it interesting that both Dance Monkey and Roses both went #1 in Canada considering they both hit #1 in like every country besides the us I guess roses could hit #1 here but at the time it doesn’t seem very likely
This is generally the time of each year where I tend to stop paying as much attention to the charts and as a result, don't recognize a lot of the songs on the Hot 100.
Young bassking earlier today the only way to see them was from the chart history section but I checked a few minutes ago and it should appear under the main chart tab at the very bottom underneath decade end
Thoughts: Gaga week! New #1! RIP Gunna and Polo G bombs! Bad week for trap! Welcome back Baby and Uzi! Good week for country! Have One Beer Mark! I Like That Mark! She's One Of Them Girls Mark! Lose Somebody Mark! That's Why We Drink Mark! Hasta Que Dios Diga Mark! Alice loves Mark! TD Mark! It's One Big Country Song Mark! Got What I Got Mark! Eat Sour Candy Mark! Haven't played TKN Mark! Tell Me U Luv Me Mark! Cooldown next week! See ya next time!
What on earth?! Really?!! Please don't!! (Are those idiots at iHeartRadio going to make them this year's one hit wonder indie band like how Shaed was last year?)
@Alex_flamer Agreed, if iHeartRadio is going to completely AstroTurf a song into becoming a hit, why can’t it be something from All Time Low’s new album? Does FBR not have the money to pay radio stations to play their songs like they did in the late 2000s and early 2010s, with top 40 radio staples like We Are Young, Misery Business, Good Girls Go Bad, Some Nights, etc. or are they just so incompetent that they have no idea how to promote any of their bands not named Twenty One Pilots or Panic! At The Disco anymore
So this week was a breath of fresh air from the sleuth of album bombs we're getting.Noice. Well,Alright(I discovered that this is an older song,so sorry for the the mistake of calling this a """Kendrick comeback""""")and This Is America returned high on streaming last week because of the BLM movement...To only die the the next day. That's awkward. Ok since we've been getting new number 1s every week since mid-May,I hope Rockstar keeps the top because I'm exhausted of so many number 1s and specially those who won't return to the top and will be forgotten (does anyone think that The Scotts and Stuck With U will ever return to the Top 10?) So since TikTok decided to help a new genre breakthrough in the charts this year with Deep House,Roses is in the Top 10,sure,the song is kinda repetitive (well that's kinda of expected since it's Deep House) the beat sure slaps and is catchy as hell! And also we have Ride It and No Idea but the first one is in the latter half of the charts and the other is gone for a good time. The TT that sprouted this week is Like That!Which I think is Meh like Ily last week.Serioulsy tho,if we're gonna have another Doja TikTok hit,it should be Boss Bitch, that song is fire! So Sunday Best just arrived on the Top 20.Woohoo. Ok so what's the situation with Godzilla that it decided to slowly rebound to 80?I mean,it's pretty clear that it may be a fluke and it will probably drop off soon but still.HOW? So next week we will probably have another 6ixSnitch song debuting and a Posty single even though Circles it's still in the charts and will probably stay for a long time.Hope it's more Rock-oriented since my favorite songs from Hollywood's Bleeding were rock or inspired from it like A Thousand Bad Times. So se y'all next week and sincere for possible bad English since it isn't my favorite language.
Wow, this week was messy. I think "Rockstar" is at least locked in for two weeks or more at number one unless something blows it out of the water like Drake or Adele surprise releasing their lead singles (I am expecting Adele around late July- August if the album drop is in September like was suggested) or TikTok getting hold of something to send it to the top. Next week: I am kind of hopeful "One Night Standards" by Ashley McBryde might reach the Hot 100, maybe that new Kane Brown song "Worldwide Beautiful", fingers crossed Run The Jewels land a song on the Hot 100.
Anyone in the comments have any thoughts about the Hot Rock chart becoming "Hot Rock and Alternative Songs"? At the very least it kicked High Hopes off the chart completely, so that's something. Current Top 10: 1: Death Bed 2: Everything I Wanted 3: Supalonely 4: Dance Monkey 5: Level of Concern 6: Bang! by AJR 7: City of Angels by 24kGoldn 8: Bloody Valentine by MGK 9: Angels and Demons by Jxdn 10: Moral of the Story by Ashe oof
Haven’t heard the bottom 4, but Death Bed is rap and 2-6 are all pop songs. So calling it “rock and alternative” makes me think the country charts aren’t the only charts that are genre in name only
Part of me wishes that Mark didn't complain so much about the entries from Gaga this week. We need more songs from Gaga because at least she is better than an oversaturated market of hip-hop.
In defense, he expects more from Gaga given the standards she made around the turn of the decade. I do too, but honestly I like "Stupid Love" compared to others. Yeah, on a lyrical level, it's not "Bad Romance" or "Teeth", but it works thanks to the instrumention.
One Beer: It's fine, though I thought "K-I-S-S-I-N-G" was reserved for middle school. 5/10 Like That: Forgettable rap song where Gucci... is rapping from Doja's perspective? Seriously, he calls himself "El Gato" and says he acts "like a treat when a dog sees me." I'm more confused than anything. 4/10 One of Them Girls: I really want to like this song, but he sounds really pushy and stalker-ish. Is he just chasing rejection, or does he have something else in mind? 6/10 Lose Somebody: Ryan Tedder's songwriting doesn't really come out here, but Kygo's production saves it. It's different from what I've heard, at least on his pop hits, even though the drop is clumsy. 6/10 Why We Drink: Another country song about drinking, and I like how he answers the question with reasons for his drinking. Not the smartest take on alcohol abuse, but I'll take it. 7/10 Hasta Que Dios Digas: This would be one of the dirtiest songs I've ever heard, but I've listened to lots of dirtier Reggaeton than this. The beat is stiff even for modern Reggaeton and Anuel AA would probably be better off if he continued working with 6ix9ine. 3/10 Alice: Generic dance pop from a somewhat disappointing album. Neither Stupid Love nor Rain On Me were that promising, but her writing is just full of cliches. 5/10 T.D: The bars-fests from Tyler and Tierra Whack really save this from being worse, while Lil Yachty continues to remind us why he's irrelevant over an awful beat. It actually sounds good under Tyler and Tierra Whack, but they can make anything sound good. 7/10 One Big Country Song: The mixing is ugly, them singing in unison sounds terrible and the song is just full of country cliches trying to pass as a unifying force between the country and city. 3/10 Got What I Got: He's not a charismatic singer and I would have liked a little more life in this. 4/10 TKN: Kind of weird hearing Travis speaking Spanish, but it's decent enough despite how much it lacks energy. 6/10 Tell Me U Luv Me: The transition between the first verse and chorus is one of the clunkiest I've heard all year and Juice's lyrics are extremely toxic. Sorry Juice, hope more of your posthumous releases don't suck. 2/10 Sour Candy: Glad this got in the top 40. K-pop stans, you have done a great job this year with hijacking right-wing Twitter trends, don't mess up now. On a more serious note, I love the contrast between the higher-voice singers of Blackpink and Lady Gaga, and this sounds more like the late 2000s, early 2010s club boom she was aiming for on Stupid Love and Rain On Me. 9/10 Best to Worst: Sour Candy T.D Why We Drink One of Them Girls TKN Lose Somebody One Beer Alice Got What I Got Like That One Big Country Song Hasta Que Dios Digas Tell Me U Luv Me
My personal opinions BOTW: "Why We Drink" (fight me) HM: "T.D" (guilty pleasure) DM: "One Of Them Girls" (also fight me, it's disappointing for a Lee Brice song) WOTW: "Tell Me U Luv Me"
WOTW1: One Beer- If You Work on FGL Label, Yea, no WOTW2: Hasta Que Dioa Diga- they're singing voice is just get more annoying WOTW3: Got What I Got- this Jason Aldean song sure does exist. WOTW4: Tell Me U luv me- Ok This Better Be The Last Juice Wrld posthumous release, because we are getting to XXXTENTACION levels of using his name for charting success and it's disgusting. DM1: Love Somebody- OneRepublic doing Jeepcore with the help of Kygo DM2: T.D- Stale Lil Yachty song, just boring HM: Like That- it's okay but man doja cat attitude recently is getting under my skin and again she works with Dr .Puke BOTW1: Both Lady Gaga Songs- I love Chromatica. BOTW2: TKN- Rosalia charting makes me happy
Lol. People are talking shit about you on Discord. I feel bad for you at this point. Seriously man. Some people are just jealous. They don't gotta be so mean. You should join the charts discord.

25. Lady Gaga - Chromatica I (debut)
Lol Chromatica I
The Black Eyed Peas were showing improvement with Masters of the Sun when they went back to their roots, why are they just making reggaeton now?
I keep thinking Bang! Is gonna debut but every album bomb keeps it back
Ajr, black eyed peas, and Britney Spears. Please keep this in the bubbling under charts.
Sorry, no time to spam comments this week, I'm making that #1 hits ranking and I have to find something interesting to say about the 792 different Rihanna songs that topped the charts in the 2010s, so that might take a while
@@mariokarter13 Congratulations, that's a third of them
edm thing, edm thing, drake collab, tropical thing, edm thing, drake collab, tropical thing, drake collab... also, love the way you lie
Most of Rihanna's #1 hits came in the first half of the decade, her only one from 2015 onwards was Work in 2016. I'm not sure how she'll do if/when she comes back.
mariokarter13 I’ve never been fond of We Found Love, but I consider Diamonds to be a classic.
With all these album bombs, its actually refreshing to see a whole variety of new entries on the Hot 100 in one week.
2020 seems to be the year of many new songs, but few that actually stick around.
So basically, 2018 2: The World is Fucked edition
I'll say this, if "Roses" by Saint JXN and "Don't Rush" by Yung T and Bugsey ft. Headsie One opens the door to international crossover songs from African artists or even some more Afrobeat and Afropop songs on the chart, I'll take what I can get.
That would be pretty cool. That could be decade-defining for 2020.
@@gammaae4294 Africans unite I guess lol. About damn time!
Top 5 songs based what's on projected/expected to make the year end.
1. Even Though I'm Leaving- Luke Combs
2. Everything I Wanted- Billie Eilish
3. Blinding Light- The Weeknd
4. Good As Hell- Lizzo
5. Rain On Me- Lady Gaga and Arianna Grande (assuming it doesn't collapse)
How is Even Though I'm Leaving making it?
The Variety Channel of youtube keeping hope alive with that one. It’s projected to be on The cusp of making the list depending how the rest of the year goes
Kid Poker Ballin would be number 5 for me if Rain On Me hadn’t come along
It's amazing how far Everything I Wanted is falling when earlier this year, it was a top 10 hit. Hopefully, this isn't the end of Billie Eilish.
The Variety Channel of youtube because Billboard decided 2020 should start midway through November.
I think Billboard gives exceptions to songs below 50 that have over 20 weeks if they still have gains, so since Out West had a big gain it was given another week. Billboard has done this before and I'm sure this isn't the last time we'll see this
Is pussy fairy going to surpass the 20 week rule since I heard that it is still gaining in radio??
@Nick Cruz Mark will surely be glad with that especially when that song gain more than 10 spots next week
Sour Candy is good. It's a better version of Swish Swish. One of the best songs on her otherwise disappointing album
It’s interesting how the entire top 6 got to number one.
I love how Mark hates Intentions more and more with each episode
No one likes that song. It's only scored high because of radio overplay, especially when they can't think of anything else to play. (Heard it twice in the same hour once.)
(Intentions goes to #1)
Mark:AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Chris Howerton nah, it’s just gonna stick around between 7-10 for the rest of the year
@@mikerivera373 True since no one likes the song or Bieber's new album, but it would be funny if it goes to #1.
Because it’s garbage
Congratulations to EDM no longer certified as dead.
Yay............
Now can we get rock music in that same level going forward? Please?!
Crazy Luigi maybe rock will come back in a few years, but I’m more curious how it’d come back it style and how it’d sound
Blame TikTok.
It’s kind of nice to have OneRepublic back. They haven’t had a charting song here since 2016
All their songs have been stuck around Bubbling Under since Connection.
Too bad it's a song that will be used for Car Commericals
2018
For the record, the rule is that songs below the top 50 fall off after 20 weeks unless they’re gaining on radio. That rarely happens, but for songs that debut high on streaming and don’t get a decent radio deal until far into their runs, they do stick around. Same thing happened with Close Friends, Worth It, Tusa, El Perdon Talk You Out of It & a few others.
And before you complain, it’s the rule that will likely save P*$$y Fairy next week. All is balanced.
Congratulations to Rockstar for going to #1, really not looking forward to that 6ix9ine and Akon collab coming though
That already doesn’t sound promising...
Wait, there's going to be a collab between 6ix9ine and Akon? Like.....like what?
@@smashball2372 My sentiments exactly, dude. Though I'm more like fucking what? Why?!
@sam wise Yeah, they’re going to be doing Locked Up part 2
@@ronstoppable5659 Moses from JATPL: No....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The 20-50 rule is so flawed, since some songs that spend 20 weeks below the the 50 go to the top 50 for one week and then miss their spot at the year end list
Yeah, no kidding! Definitely robbed some songs from potential year-end spots in the past, like SZA's The Weekend, for example.
@Mike Rivera Imagine If Billboard re-did their year end lists based solely on pop culture impact and longevity, All Star would probably top the 1999 YE 🤣 Also, you have to keep in mind that the late 90s-early 2000s charts weren’t exactly accurate since the hottest destination for music at that time among the youth of America by a landslide was TRL and there were tons of songs that were absolutely massive there, while they barely impacted the hot 100 (for example, if you showed any millennial the old YE lists, they will probably be shocked at how little nu metal and pop punk is actually represented on those lists, considering how inescapable they were at the time)
Yeah agreed
Mark’s Spanish lesson: It’s pronounced RosaLIa.
Do my eyes deceive me or do we actually have an EDM song in the Top 10?
It's musical cancer, I'll give it to you.
Well we have two in Roses and Rain Me. First time since 2017 that we’ve had two electronic songs in the top 10 at the same time (well technically two if the original Roses by SAINt JHN isn’t counted)
No Its house
It would be really cool if Mark made a song and it got onto the top 100 and he could review his own song on billboard breakdown.
He would be like, This is the best song ever to exist
is nobody gonna comment on the fact that we’ve literally had a new no. 1 every week throughout the past like 6 or 7 weeks?? 2020 is gonna break the record for most no. 1’s in a year by July or August at this rate lmao
I think Rockstar is going to be #1 for a while
And to think, we started off the year with a song that stayed at #1 for 11 weeks in a row
There were years in the 70s and 80s that had over 30 #1 Hits, 2020's not going to match that.
Gabingston didn’t 2018 or 2019 come close? i thought i heard that somewhere
She’s helping them more than they help her
So, how many more new #1s in a row until we get a free sundae?
4?
What is this Diamond?
Rockstar is staying at #1 so it looks like 0
why did you have to do my girl ros-AH-lia like that? >:(
The accent's over the I like come on
i mean she even does her "la ros-a-lee-a" thing at the end of the song

Wasn’t Con Altura tho?
NiobiumGaming on the bubbling under yes, not the hot 100
Rosalia’s 2018 album is a masterpiece...definitely make the time to check it out
Rockstar is better than Rockstar but not as good as Rockstar. Youll have to guess my picks
So you're saying Rockstar by Dababy is better than Post Malone's Rockstar but it's not as good as Nickelback's Rockstar right?
Yeah I agree. Rockstar by DaBaby is better than Rockstar by Nickelback but no where near as good as Rockstar by Post Malone
@@thecoffeeshophey ding ding ding. You win. Youre getting a new car.

This is the first time Mark talks about "Roses," in a while. Thank God it got to the Top 10, it's one that should not be ignored.
Don't let any of this distract you from the fact that Billboard straight up murdered the Hot Rock Songs chart.
👀👀👀👀👀
About time they put the panicked disco out of its misery.
It's a good thing Billboard changed the name. It just doesn't make sense for songs like Royals or High Hopes to top a Billboard chart that is made for rock music.
What's the new name? Regardless, I think we can officially proclaim that Rock N' Roll is officially dead. R.I.P. Rock N' Roll, 1950-2020.
In all seriousness though, actual real Rock music has hardly made any cultural significant impact since around 2009. You had some indie song's in the early half of the last decade, but that quickly went away.
Let us now take this moment to enjoy our charts finally having something resembling normalcy...for now.
Rockstar is going to stick around at #1 for multiple weeks. My guess is more than Blinding Lights but less than The Box

2008 “So What”- Pink
2017 “Rockstar” Post Malone ft 21 Savage
2020 “Rockstar” DaBaby

Yes
ROCKSTAR will prolly stay at #1 if that remix shows up soon
Wait, what remix?
Anyone else find it weird that Rockstar is now DaBaby’s biggest hit? Like it’s even bigger than the song that put him on the map “Suge”. Its strange. At least to me.
Also wow, no one cared about Yachty this week. We didn’t even get Ophra’s Bank Account back. I mean for good reason, the album truly shows Yachty running out of steam, but damn.
Anyway,

I find it weird that 3 artists from the latest XXL Freshman has Number 1 hits in the same calendar year.
Oh dude I never thought of that...and Lil Mosey is in the top 20 too. And Tierra just got on here with TD and Gunna had last week
Now all we need is Comethazine to get in and it’ll be the whole XXL family (well most but we don’t need Blueface, or Osiris in here).
Sure as hell did better than 2018 or 17 where the only still relevant artists from those classes combined is A Boogie, Trippie, JID, and Ski Mask.

X by Jonas Brothers & KAROL G
Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles
Need It by Migos & YoungBoy Never Broke Again
Any songs I should add or remove? I know I need to take off a couple of these.
I think I was a bit too premature with removing that Kenny Chesney song from a few weeks ago here. Put that back on.
Lil' Miss Different maybe remove x cause it looks like it will flop, I'd say sadly remove in your eyes cause it's massively underperforming, I don't think in between, bluebird and need it will get big.
I hope Need it becomes a hit.
Anything Country related is very patchy when it comes to crossover on the Hot 100 and becoming hits. On that note, You should probably remove "In Between"
Bang! by AJR will probably become a hit
Support Sour Candy
Don't support Got What I Got
Alright. ua-cam.com/video/PwK_JdcdfLo/v-deo.html
Sam Hunt AND AJR? That’s a special kind of punishment for Mark 😂
Im not on top of the release schedule, but good job!
Next week is the first week of the summer rankings spree
The new entries may not be that interesting, but the charts as a whole are looking good this week. With no album bombs, we actually have some variety.
@Nick Cruz streaming.
I don’t give two craps on them two songs. It’s the debuts and reentries that I say is very interesting. Sure old songs like segues cil el and that way is back. But look One Beer, One Big Country Song, Got What I Got, One Of Them Girls, Like That, etc are here
Tyler The Creator is way too good to be associating with Lil Yachty. I'm not even convinced TD is that good but Tyler's verse certainly is.
Tierra Whack's just as good herself, though!
Let's not forget my personal favorite, one A$AP Rocky.
How do we feel about the rock and alternative charts being combined together?
about time they also added new subcharts Hot Alternative Songs, Hot Hard Rock Songs, Alternative Streaming & Hard Rock Streaming
I love how it literally took the creation of a new chart just to get rid of "High Hopes" from the Rock charts. Eh, I'm cool with it though. Just annoyed they didn't do it sooner.
Do you think we’ll get some older songs charting next week due to the protests?? Kendrick and NWA and Public Enemy and them?
This Is America came back on the recurrent chart this week so i wouldn’t get my hopes up
@@tristannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Thought it would come back this week given the stats on sales and streaming, but no.... Hope it makes it next week!
It'll be dope to have public enemy
I feel like I might get a lot of hate for this but i definitely prefer BLACKPINK’s parts over Gaga’s. Like they suit the song better.
No shade to Gaga, she is a queen
I honestly love to see so many songs top the charts in a year it’s better than the years that a few songs stay on time. It’s actually refreshing
I hope GOOBA keeps flopping
Fax 📠 thank god he didn’t get #1
Top 5:
1. Lose Somebody - Kygo & OneRepublic
2. One Beer - Hardy ft. Lauren Alaina & Devin Dawson
3. One Big Country Song - Locash
4. Got What I Got - Jason Aldean
5. One of Them Girls - Lee Brice
Best TD
Honourable mention Alice
Worst One Beer
Dishonable Mention one big country song
Allan Jurgens how...
Are you sure the Canadian Charts are better?
Best: TKN
HM: Sour Candy
DM: Got What I Got
Worst: One Beer
Yeeessss, the fact he doesn't like rosalia is disturbing to me
Alice Souza i mean TKN is far from her best but it’s stil good. Anything on El Mal Querer blows TKN out of the water though
"Que" is pronounced "Ke"
Kay*
@@Drogon7102 No it's Ke, or Keh, not Kay.
it’s fascinating that we have to tell him these things
This is generally the time of each year where I tend to stop paying as much attention to the charts and as a result, don't recognize a lot of the songs on the Hot 100.
Ever think about skipping a few weeks of Billboard Breakdown and returning after about a month and then binge watching the episodes you missed?
Lol I was binge watching mid 2017 to early 2018
I wish Pig Feet by Terrace Martin and Denzel Curry charted on Billboard
I wonder if Intentions will end up being in the top 15 for the 2020 year end chart.
Possibly
@@oraclegaming1431 Gross!
Maybe
Why did billboard delete the only rock chart instead of having it along the Alt and Rock chart?
There’s new sub charts Hot Alternative Songs and Hot Hard Rock songs they just didn’t show up on the website until recently
Young bassking earlier today the only way to see them was from the chart history section but I checked a few minutes ago and it should appear under the main chart tab at the very bottom underneath decade end
Thoughts:
Gaga week!

I enjoy roses. But I think I like ride it more.
I'm not going to lie. "ROCKSTAR" becoming the new #1 caught me off guard! 😆
BOTW: Lose Somebody
HM: TKN
DM: Tell Me U Luv Me
WOTW: Sour Candy
Sad news is that one can expect Bang! by AJR to chart soon. It’s already starting it’s run on pop radio.
What on earth?! Really?!! Please don't!! (Are those idiots at iHeartRadio going to make them this year's one hit wonder indie band like how Shaed was last year?)
I honestly kinda dig it lol
I personally don't hate it, but it isn't a good song. I hate that it's insidiously ear-wormy though.
Sadly
So this week was a breath of fresh air from the sleuth of album bombs we're getting.Noice.
Well,Alright(I discovered that this is an older song,so sorry for the the mistake of calling this a """Kendrick comeback""""")and This Is America returned high on streaming last week because of the BLM movement...To only die the the next day. That's awkward.
Ok since we've been getting new number 1s every week since mid-May,I hope Rockstar keeps the top because I'm exhausted of so many number 1s and specially those who won't return to the top and will be forgotten (does anyone think that The Scotts and Stuck With U will ever return to the Top 10?)
So since TikTok decided to help a new genre breakthrough in the charts this year with Deep House,Roses is in the Top 10,sure,the song is kinda repetitive (well that's kinda of expected since it's Deep House) the beat sure slaps and is catchy as hell!
I believe Post Malone has been working with Travis Barker...so if he is releasing anything...it will be rock tinged
ROCKSTAR might be the stable number 1 we need.
My favorite is "Alice". I don't know how, but it is really good to me.
I guess Chromatica didn’t have a huge album bomb.. I’m glad ROCKSTAR got to #1 though.🙂
Same here. Blue face and DaBaby are named Jonathan so I feel their music extra hard.
Mark, you should really practice your spanish
He’s gotten worse over the years. He at least tried to pronounce it correctly back in 2015
Bro. June 13 is my birthday. This is dope.
Happy Early Birthday Dude 🎂🎉
Thanks bro!
Like That by Doja Cat easily best of the week, please become a hit.
Considering Mark said that a Lil Yachty song was worse than a Jacob Sartorius one four years ago, it’s pretty impressive he’s given the HM to him
It’s not because of Yachty tho
I thought songs had to leave at 26 weeks while outside the top 50, not 20. Was I wrong?
Yes indeed.
What’s with these number one turnovers dude it’s crazy
Here I am catching up on this week’s and last weeks episode sorry about that
Wow, this week was messy.
@Nick Cruz I am guessing on Adele tbh. Covid may have pushed the album release back...I hope not
Awkward year is so accurate
Oh good RITMO is gone
Anyone in the comments have any thoughts about the Hot Rock chart becoming "Hot Rock and Alternative Songs"? At the very least it kicked High Hopes off the chart completely, so that's something.
Current Top 10:
1: Death Bed
2: Everything I Wanted
3: Supalonely
4: Dance Monkey
5: Level of Concern
6: Bang! by AJR
7: City of Angels by 24kGoldn
8: Bloody Valentine by MGK
9: Angels and Demons by Jxdn
10: Moral of the Story by Ashe
oof
Haven’t heard the bottom 4, but Death Bed is rap and 2-6 are all pop songs. So calling it “rock and alternative” makes me think the country charts aren’t the only charts that are genre in name only
Isn't rock supposed to have a specific kind of sound? Because at least half of these aren't even close to that!
Roses by Imanbek im the top ten is good news
Glad that DaBaby and Roddy got to #1
Rockstar is a decent song I guess.
What do you think of Kip Moore's wild world album
Tootsie Slide is at number 6. 😆😈👿👾
Next week will probably be a SEA of political tracks.
Maybe Gaga should release some better songs first.
Exactly
Sunday Best is in the Top 20!
BOTW: Lose Somebody
HM: One of Them Girls/Why We Drink/ Like That/Alice/One Big Country Songs
DM: Tell Me U Luv Me/TKN
WOTW: Haste Que Dios Diga
Does anyone really care about radio any more?
Solid week despite the avalanche of country I don't care about
One Beer: It's fine, though I thought "K-I-S-S-I-N-G" was reserved for middle school. 5/10
Like That: Forgettable rap song where Gucci... is rapping from Doja's perspective? Seriously, he calls himself "El Gato" and says he acts "like a treat when a dog sees me." I'm more confused than anything. 4/10
One of Them Girls: I really want to like this song, but he sounds really pushy and stalker-ish. Is he just chasing rejection, or does he have something else in mind? 6/10
Lose Somebody: Ryan Tedder's songwriting doesn't really come out here, but Kygo's production saves it. It's different from what I've heard, at least on his pop hits, even though the drop is clumsy. 6/10
Why We Drink: Another country song about drinking, and I like how he answers the question with reasons for his drinking. Not the smartest take on alcohol abuse, but I'll take it. 7/10
Hasta Que Dios Digas: This would be one of the dirtiest songs I've ever heard, but I've listened to lots of dirtier Reggaeton than this. The beat is stiff even for modern Reggaeton and Anuel AA would probably be better off if he continued working with 6ix9ine. 3/10
Alice: Generic dance pop from a somewhat disappointing album. Neither Stupid Love nor Rain On Me were that promising, but her writing is just full of cliches. 5/10
T.D: The bars-fests from Tyler and Tierra Whack really save this from being worse, while Lil Yachty continues to remind us why he's irrelevant over an awful beat. It actually sounds good under Tyler and Tierra Whack, but they can make anything sound good. 7/10
One Big Country Song: The mixing is ugly, them singing in unison sounds terrible and the song is just full of country cliches trying to pass as a unifying force between the country and city. 3/10
Got What I Got: He's not a charismatic singer and I would have liked a little more life in this. 4/10
TKN: Kind of weird hearing Travis speaking Spanish, but it's decent enough despite how much it lacks energy. 6/10
Tell Me U Luv Me: The transition between the first verse and chorus is one of the clunkiest I've heard all year and Juice's lyrics are extremely toxic. Sorry Juice, hope more of your posthumous releases don't suck. 2/10
Sour Candy: Glad this got in the top 40. 9/10
Best to Worst:
Sour Candy
T.D
Why We Drink
One of Them Girls
TKN

Alice

BOTW: "Why We Drink" (fight me)
HM: "T.D" (guilty pleasure)
DM: "One Of Them Girls" (also fight me, it's disappointing for a Lee Brice song)
WOTW: "Tell Me U Luv Me"
WOTW1: One Beer- If You Work on FGL Label, Yea, no
WOTW2: Hasta Que Dioa Diga- they're singing voice is just get more annoying
WOTW3: Got What I Got- this Jason Aldean song sure does exist.
WOTW4: Tell Me U luv me- Ok This Better Be The Last Juice Wrld posthumous release, because we are getting to XXXTENTACION levels of using his name for charting success and it's disgusting.
DM1: Love Somebody- OneRepublic doing Jeepcore with the help of Kygo
DM2: T.D- Stale Lil Yachty song, just boring
HM: Like That- it's okay but man doja cat attitude recently is getting under my skin and again she works with Dr .Puke
BOTW1: Both Lady Gaga Songs- I love Chromatica.
BOTW2: TKN- Rosalia charting makes me happy
Lol. People are talking shit about you on Discord. I feel bad for you at this point. Seriously man.
Some people are just jealous. They don't gotta be so mean.
You should join the charts discord.
BOTW - T.D
HM - TKN and Alice (tie)

Crazy Luigi
It’d be nice to see Tyler, Tierra, and Rocky get a hit....yup. Just them.
