- It's been a long time coming! Evan's Mustang project is on the move, with the arrival of dozens of boxes of brand new parts from Street or Track and Modern Driveline. Here's a breakdown of the parts shown in this video:
Suspension/Brake Package, SOT-PACKAGE4 (bit.ly/3pg8CUq), which includes:
- Street or Track Front Bilstein Coilover
- Street or Track Bilstein Coilover 3-Link
- Street or Track Full Floating 9" Rear End System
- Street or Track 13x1.25" Rotor 4 Piston '4R' Caliper Brake System
Billet Drop Spindles, SOT-BBSPINDLE (bit.ly/3yYwDnq)
Frame Connectors, SOT-FRAMECONNECTORS (bit.ly/2RiBr63)
Ford Tremec T56 Magnum 6 Speed Transmission , TUET16884 (bit.ly/3zayHJg)
Floor Pan, SKU 3648RWT - DY - 007966 (bit.ly/3pkcIes)
The plan is to build out the 1967 Mustang Fastback to be a capable restomod, with some pro touring influenced performance parts while keeping the look mostly original. Be sure to check out the full video playlist to see the entire build progress!

Subframe connectors, 6pt. cage, and reinforce those cheesey sheet metal shock-towers, inside and out. That flimsy unibody is the weak link with these old 'Stangs. 3:70 rear gear is a bit tall for that 6sp. (speaking from experience).
Wow you guys look like you could be brothers.
Super sick build! SOT makes awesome suspension, I'm sure you'll love it. Also great job committing to building out existing shell... I'm in a similar boat, I think the only original parts in mine are the roof and transmission tunnel 😂 I'll definitely be following your build progress!
Hey dude what happened with the project? Did you run out of steam or cash? You fell far short of getting it done by spring. Lol
Stumbled upon UA-cam channel RRS-online....video....The truth about sub frame connectors...Very interesting for car restorations with big power increase
Really enjoyed watching how you are building this project, but sad when the playlist ended without completion. Last video was 9 months ago? Did you hit a snag that you weren't expecting? I would love to know what the status of the build is. Any more videos of the '67 fastback coming?
I just came across your channel and noticed a Washington plate. I'm in southeast Washington down in Clarkston. Just bought a 390 4 speed fastback to build missing the drivetain and a lot of other stuff. thanks for the great content!
Right on! Welcome aboard!
thought I'd never get beyond the mustang going in the acid dip , nice to see this video continue
Thanks for the honesty. I was asking myself the exact question that Nick asked. For $14,000 you purchased a VIN and have a ton of work.
Where ist Evan's Mustang now?
Greetz from good old Germany 😎👍
Wow those were a lot of nice parts of treasures .look forward to seeing the out come of your build
Thanks, Jarron! I appreciate it!
No updates? What is up with the build?
great project looking for apdat
You won't be disappointed in the SOT suspension set up, I only have the front complete kit and the rear is shocks on leafs and it works very well but planning on adding a panhard bar. If I was at your place in the build, I'd consider convertible rockers and seat risers to further stiffen the floor pan. Also a front cross brace that ties into the lower control arms really helps to stiffen it up. Going to be a nice build!
Thank you for sharing
We need an update
Can’t wait to see it all done up! Do t forget the brown tweed jacket.
Been waiting for this! Excellent!
Thank you!
This was great, I've been waiting for an update since the Acid Bath vid. Are you going to do a full video on the motor choice?
Thanks for following along, Andy! Yes, absolutely. Full engine build video will be coming soon. It’s been delayed because of scarce parts availability, but it should be coming together soon!
Man oh man, super quality components going in this build. Real cheese I suspect ( you just showed us $20k in parts, maybe) . Great video, glad you are making progress. Love hearing your logic, good stuff. Can’t wait to see this finished, say mid 2024?
Ha, hopefully it’s finished next spring!
Great video and I like the editing. However, I am curious to see your opinion on whether you would go this route again after you cut that entire car apart and chase rust for months and months. Don't ask me how I know about chasing rust around. Keep the videos coming.
We’ll see. Hopefully it’s smooth sailing, but who knows. I’ll be sure to keep you updated once I get into the floor replacement project.
That’s the answer ...VIN...no pollution restrictions, there will be a big brother move to put all the gas cars from ‘96 and newer in the crusher. When your ready to sell that 67 there will be lots of buyers, and you get to drive it till it’s no fun anymore.
Update on car???
I really like the 17” on the 67’ 68’ Mustangs. Just looks right.
Awesome work
Thanks!
2 guys and not one knife between you to open packaging?
Well its been ANOTHER year. Any updates? This project is moving as slow as mine does.
I recommend noting the costs of the parts. If you get them from somewhere for free or discounted that is okay but just use the retail prices. Unless you are ashamed of admitting what was paid, it really gives others an accurate price in case they want to do the same thing.
Will you do a cost list when done?
i still chasing my dream one day i will get one wich me luck 😁🤞
... or just bought a solid fastback to begin with, paid the premium, and been ahead of the game. Don't have to buy a kit car - not the only solution, so not sure why that was given as an answer?
What the problem is? Evan, awaiting updates on your Mustang fastback. Miss your posts! Nick, Pops as well!
Thank you! Ask and you shall receive! (New Mustang update coming soon)
@@ClassicNation - Its been another 6 months....
More content on this car please
Agreed! I’m hoping to have for frequent updates on the build as we start getting into the real work!
Very glad to see your going with Made in USA parts
Absolutely!
there is somebody outside USA making parts for rustang?
Um all that replacement sheet metal is foreign stampings
WOW ! I don't know what l was expecting but l don't think it was this radical ! You just don't get this service in the UK. Certainly not over the counter . l was expecting you to concentrate on the bodyshell ......saving the best 'til last ?! In retrospect had the shell been in better condition do you think you may not have gone down the route you 're going ? I guess you'll keep the notchback as standard to remind your self "did Mustangs really drive like this ? " 😂😂 Thanks Evan .
Hi John! Yes, the plan had always been to have premium suspension/drivetrain components. The build plan has changed a bit since the beginning, but the most drastic changes are the engine, wheels, etc. And yes - this car is a bit more "radical" because the '67 coupe that I have is very original, so I wanted to have both flavors in the garage!
I hope all is well with you in the UK! Thanks again for the support!!

- Å fan!
Thank you!
Just stubbled across this channel. Just curious, where did you learn so much about restoration. Good content.
Thanks so much! Well, just digging in really, and doing a lot of listening!
Evan, what company made your body jig?
Good job guys!,
What color are you going to go with?
It's waaay to early to talk about colors, I think. "What are you going to do with this roof?" seems to be more relevant question.
Great set up¡ what yoy doing for steering?
Thanks! Steering is a power rack & pinion by Unisteer.
@@ClassicNation is there any reason you haven't consider manual unisteer R&P with EPAS?
Not familiar. How does it compare?
Finally🙌🏾
Agree!
Chemical name?
These postproduction doppelganger tricks have gone too far.
HAHAHA!
Did they alreaydy said it’s from “street or track” 😂😂😂
You wrote a check to buy that car, nice try buddy
Thank you! I love this! ❤️ 😘
@@ClassicNation Well that's fitting
Wants a original car, replaced 90% of panels. 🤓🤓🤓🥱
